When I wake up, I feel it immediately, the ache, that sweet, sore reminder of earlier. My body feels used in the best way, and the warmth beside me is everything. I’m no longer on top of Knox. We’re both on our sides, still tangled up in each other. My head rests on his shoulder, his arm draped over my waist, legs all intertwined. We’re both still naked, lying on top of the covers like we were too caught up in each other to even think about pulling them up.
