Kaylan could feel her heart neck as he whispered those words. The gem..! So, he knows about it as well? And was it something that important? Why else was he asking for I?
She went mute, fear coursing through her, but she tried not to show it.
"I don't... know about any gem" she finally said, her mind drifting to the woods where she'd buried it.
Zane could feel a twitch in his mood and went round to stand in front of her. He'd turned...angrier.
