last update Last Updated: 2025-07-28 15:30:00
It was a Monday morning when Lia stepped onto the school grounds, radiating an air of newfound confidence. She had made a promise to herself: she would no longer let anyone diminish her sense of self-worth. If they wanted to play games, she was ready to play. As she walked through the busy hallway, she spotted Harper, surrounded by a cluster of her friends, a grin plastered across her face.

"Look who finally decided to show up! Thought you'd have left by now. Oh wait, there’s nowhere for you to go," Harper taunted, her laughter ringing out mockingly, accompanied by the giggles of her friends.

"Are you done?" Lia interjected, slowly leaning closer, her voice steady and resolute. "I’m going to get straight to the point, Harper. You will to stay the hell away from me. And any opinions you have about my life? Keep them to yourself," she said, her eyes narrowed into a stern gaze.

"Or else what?" Harper smirked, pretending to be unfazed.

"Or else I’ll spill your little secret to the whole sc

It had been a week since the breakup, and nothing had changed. Tyler didn’t look at Lia, didn’t speak to her, It felt like he didn’t even acknowledge her existence. He walked past her in the hallway like she was just another stranger. That hurt, but what truly broke her was how normal he seemed, how unaffected he was, while she was left devastated, struggling to hold herself together.Lia sat in her classroom, her last period of the day. The teacher was running late, so the room buzzed with chatter and laughter. People gathered in groups, sharing jokes and gossip, but Lia stayed quiet at her desk. Asher sat beside her, stealing glances, trying to find the right words."Hey," he finally said gently, leaning closer. "Are you good? … You just keep spacing out."Lia blinked and forced a quick smile. "Yeah, yeah, I’m fine."Asher didn’t look convinced. "To be honest, I knew this was going to happen. I tried to warn you." His voice wasn’t mocking, only layered with genuine concern, but it c

"Tyler, I…" Lia’s voice cracked as she cleared her throat, fighting against the haze of alcohol that still clouded her system. She straightened her posture, willing herself to appear steady even though her legs felt weak. "...I didn’t know you were coming."Tyler’s expression was unreadable, his jaw tight. "Yeah," he said flatly, "I won’t be staying long. I just came to wish you a happy birthday… and give you this." His grip tightened around the wrapped present in his hands."You don’t have to leave," Lia blurted, her eyes glassy as they searched his. "You could come inside, we could talk and have a little fun?." Her voice softened, almost pleading, as though the words themselves could pull him closer. But Tyler’s gaze flickered to Asher, still lingering nearby. His glare was sharp. "I don’t have to," he muttered. "Besides… it seems like you already have company."The tension thickened, heavy and suffocating, until Asher finally raised his hands in surrender. "I’ll give you two space

It had been two weeks. Two long, agonizing weeks. Tyler hadn't called or even sent a single text. In the hallways, he walked past her as though she were invisible, his eyes fixed on some distant thought, never once meeting hers. He seemed absentminded, lost in a fog that she couldn’t reach into. Lia’s heart ached every time she saw him like that. She wanted to be there for him, to shoulder his pain, but he wouldn’t let her in."Hey, you good?" Trudy’s voice cut through Lia’s spiraling thoughts as she slid into the seat beside her in the cafeteria."Ehmm… yeah," Lia replied quickly, shaking her head as though to dismiss the heaviness. She forced a small smile before lifting her juice box and taking a sip."You better be!" Trudy leaned in, her face glowing with mischief. "Because after school, we are going shopping.""What? No, please," Lia almost choked on her drink, her eyes widening."Yes, we are," Trudy said with the kind of determination that allowed no room for argument. "It’s you

After the game, Lia waited just outside the boys’ locker room, her heart racing. The cheers from the crowd still echoed faintly down the hallway, but inside her chest it felt suffocatingly quiet. Panic surged through her. What must be going through Tyler’s mind? And who the hell posted that video? Her palms became sweaty as minutes dragged on. At last, Tyler appeared. He was alone, as usual. He had never been the type to walk out with crowd. His damp hair clung to his forehead, his gym bag slung lazily over his shoulder."Babe?" Lia’s voice cracked, the word coming out more like a question than a greeting.Tyler didn’t meet her eyes. "Lia, I’m really exhausted. I just want to go home and take a nap," he said flatly, walking past her."So you’re mad at me… because of some dumb video?" Lia blurted, her voice defensive.Tyler froze, then turned back to face her. His expression was unreadable, but the hurt in his eyes was clear. "I don’t know, Lia! I called you that night. I needed you th

"You haven’t been picking my calls, and it’s almost like you’re avoiding me," Harper said, stepping in front of Asher and blocking his path. Her arms were crossed tightly over her chest, her perfectly manicured nails digging into her skin as she tried to keep her composure.Asher let out a slow breath, already feeling his patience thin. "Harper, if you haven’t noticed, we aren’t together anymore," he replied, his voice calm but laced with frustration."But I still love you," Harper pushed, her eyes shining with a mix of excitement and desperation. "And Lia has obviously moved on. So maybe we could get back together?" Her tone softened slightly, as though trying to appeal to the part of him that once cared."It doesn’t matter," Asher said, shaking his head. "You know it was never real, and I’ve actually been busy." He added the last part like an excuse, hoping it would end the conversation.Harper’s expression darkened, her brows pulling together. "Oh wow," she said bitterly, voice ris

"Hey, would you put your phone aside for like one minute? You’ve been glued to that thing since you got here," Trudy complained, tugging gently at Lia’s arm as they stood by the entrance."I’m sorry, it’s just that Tyler hasn’t responded to my texts all day. He was supposed to be here an hour ago," Lia admitted, her voice laced with worry as her eyes stayed fixed on the glowing screen."I’m sure he’ll show up. And if he doesn’t, he’ll definitely call. C’mon, you’re going to miss all the fun," Trudy said, sticking out her bottom lip in a playful pout."Yeah, you’re right. It’s your fucking birthday, let’s have fun!" Lia finally cheered, slipping her phone into her bag."Yayyy!" Trudy squealed, her mood instantly lifting as she grabbed her best friend’s hand and pulled her into the lively house. The party carried on for hours, filled with music, laughter, and the faint buzz of alcohol. By the time the girls made their way out to the pool, both were a little tipsy especially Trudy, whose
