Chapter 3: New Girl

Chapter 3: New Girl

Zaina Amara’s POV

“She’s Unique.” She spoke. Miss White laughed at what she said.

“I think she’s immune to someone pointing their guns into her head. Rick and his men had done the same earlier, but until now, she had the same expression on her face.”

Can they stop talking about me? It looks like I’m not in front of them. Jeez, it's so annoying.

“Haha. That’s freaking new, Jane; anyway, new girl, what is your name?” Kayley asked me.

“Zaina.” I sparingly answer. She nodded and looked at Jane.

“Is she here to get a dormitory unit or a house?” She asked Jane.

Why did she ask her when I was just in front of her? Why don’t she ask me instead?

“House, she chose the house,” Jane answered.

Kayley’s lips form an O shape, and she glances at me.

“Woah, that’s freaking new again; a newbie always chose and preferred to live in a dormitory unit to be safe.” She speaks.

Okay? I’m not them. I prefer to be alone.

“Haha, I’m shocked about that too, but Kayley, hurry up; we still have to go to campus to enrol her permanently,” Jane said.

“Okay, wait a minute.” She got up from where she was sitting and went to the front of a tall drawer and took something there.

“Here, read and analyse. If you want that house, we can talk and arrange the settlement.” Kayley said to me while handing out a black-coloured folder. I accepted it and looked inside the folder. A house worth 500 Million is not bad.

There are pictures of the house in the documents she showed. It is a medium-sized two-storey house, not so small, not so big living room; one hiding out or entertaining room, with two bedrooms, one kitchen, dining room and a bathroom each bedroom. Cool.

“I’ll buy it.” My answer.

Kayley and Jane smiled. Kayley pulled out another folder and laid it on the table in front of us.

“Great, here are the ownership documents for the house. Just put your signature here, then up to the last page. Thank you for buying.” She happily said.

“About the payment, Cash? A check or Card?” She asked me again.

“Card.” I sparingly answer. I took my card from my pocket and gave it to her.

Both Kayley and Jane Gasped from what they saw. Why?

“She has a Black card?” Jane murmured. What’s wrong with having a black card? Anyone can have that.

“Hey,” I call them. They recovered from the shock. She accepted the card I presented, swiped it in the machine, and then gave it back to me.

“It’s done. Welcome to Colter Society,” Kayley said. I nodded.

“We’ll go ahead now, Kay,” Jane said.

Kayley nodded but was still looking at me. She’s curiously staring at me.

I took the house key that was on the table and turned around.

“We’re close to Colter Academy. Just follow my car once again.” She instructed me. I nodded and got into my car.

Ten minutes later, I saw a gate again. I got out of my car and looked up.

‘COLTER ACADEMY’

It was written in big Gold Letterings; from outside the gate, I could see towering buildings, wide and shiny floors, and a big, wide fountain in front of the main building.

I also see students scattered around. From that sight, I saw their uniforms. For girls, it is Maroon short skirts, white long sleeves, maroon coats, and black shoes. Not my kind of uniform.

For boys, they wear Maroon slacks, long white sleeves, maroon coats and neckties, and black shoes. It is such a typical uniform for a private institution.

The gate is slowly opening.

“Let’s go inside.” We started walking inside, and the students scattered around and looked at us. All of them were smirking at me; some of them I caught mouthed ‘Newbie’ ‘New girl.’

My face was blank as I followed Jane's footsteps. We arrived at a large door. I saw Jane knocked three times. What’s with the manner?

I opened the door and went inside without any permission. I saw a lady in her mid-fifties, one of her eyebrows raised as she looked at me.

“What are you doing here?” She seriously asked me.

“She’s the new girl, Mother,” Jane answered for me.

The old lady in front of me stood up and smirked.

“So, you are the new girl, huh? I don’t know why my son recommended and sent you here.” She said confidently.

My former latest Dean was her Son. Does that mean Jane is his sister?

“Mama, my brother recommended her, so don’t question it,” Jane said again. The old lady glared at her.

“Get out!” She yelled. Jane flinched and immediately went out of the room.

“You come here and sit down.” Mrs. White ordered. No one dared to order me like that. Instead of following her stupid order, I leaned against the wall and looked at her.

“Tell me what you want to say now. I don’t want to waste my time for nothing,” I said coldly to her.

“I have nothing to say.” She speaks.

If she has nothing to say, what am I doing here?

“Hand me your enrolment slips.” She says again.

I took what she needed inside my bag and flew it towards her. I made it paper plane the enrolment slips that the dean had given to me yesterday.

The paper plane exactly landed in front of her on her table.

“Are you disrespecting me?” She angrily yelled at me.

If she took my word as a kind of disrespecting her? Then yes, I am probably disrespecting her here. Instead of answering her question, I stand straight and move towards her.

I laid both my hands on her desk and looked at her coldly.

“Listen here, old lady, did I tell you earlier that I don’t want to waste my time? Just finish this useless matter and give me my fucking schedule.” I seriously said to her.

I saw she was stunned, and her whole face blushed with anger because of what I had said. I just smirk.

“Well, my schedule?” I said to her before she could speak.

I saw her calm herself down before talking again.

“Is this the reason why my son sends you here? You were troublemaker, Here! That’s your schedule. Get out now!”

I took the paper she gave me and immediately left her boring office. When I came out, I saw Jane leaning against the wall; she stood up straight when she saw me.

“Hey.”

I coldly stared at her.

“Let’s go, you start on Monday. Today is Friday, so do whatever you want to do. About the uniform, I’ll send someone to deliver it to your house, the same as the school supplies and gadgets. Maybe tomorrow or on Sunday.  You’re a graduating student. “Jane asked.

I nodded in response. During my entire college career, this school was the thirtieth school I attended. When I was in high school, it was even worse because I moved from school to school but gladly graduated.

“I’m curious. Why did brother send you here to Colter society?” She asks me.

“He didn’t send me here; I made my own decision to come here,” I replied.

“Oh, okay.”

“How old are you?” She asked me again.

“20.” I sparingly answer.

“So young.” I just nodded

“By the way, I’m- “

“Jane White.”

“How did you know?” I just shrugged. The answer to that question is quite obvious. Kayley called her Jane earlier, and then those men in front of the Colter Society Gate called her Ms. White.

“I’ll go ahead now, bye.” I said and got in my car.

I locate my new home and go there. I stopped in front of a house, which is my new house. There are also houses next to it that are like my house.

This is great. I got out of my car and stared across my new house.
