Annika did not plan for Kurt’s mother to suddenly lose her balance. She just wanted to avoid getting slapped again. She just protected herself. Then someone shouted, “Annika!” all of the people stared at the entrance door because that’s where the voice came.
Kurt arrived and noticed her mother was suddenly on the couch, while Annika stood in front of her. Annika was concerned that he might get the wrong impression about what was going on. She was afraid Kurt would despise her.
