Race's POV

...

It was already passed twelve in the evening when I decided to go out of my apartment.

Holding the keys in my hand as I was walking towards my motorcycle, I jumped to it and pumped the engine to start up. Mabuti pa siya nakakapagpahinga. Nakakainggit naman.

"I hope aliens will come here and get me as soon as possible." I told myself as I started to roll my wheels on driving.

I go to the nearest convenience store in town. I need some fuel. Ilang araw pa rin siguro akong mananatiling gising. Still, no signs of me to fall asleep. Ni humikab pinagkait din sa akin. I'm wondering what power I possessed to stay wide awake and kicking.

Nagsimula akong maglakad patungo ro'n. The girl on the counter looked so pissed. She's on her early 30's I guess.

The tension grew even more as I was looking from the outside. Teka? Nagnakaw ba siya? Bakit naman siya naiyak? Weird. Para akong nanonood ng dramatic koreanobela ngayon.

I squinted my eyes and looked closely at the girl as she cries. She seemed familiar to me. I couldn't remember her name but I am seeing her in some of my major subjects. Sigurado ako ro'n! We're technically blockmates. I just don't like giving people a single fuck. What's my thing is to attend the school and make good grades. That's all.

She was like a real mess. She couldn't even control herself. Tears keeps on flowing as she sobs.

It's already midnight and there this kind of scene in here.

I just shrugged the thoughts off of my head and walked straight inside the store.

I took the chips on the aisle and one canned soda. I walked to the counter to pay for my snacks.

Her glares was fixed on me. I know. I could feel it. I'm just good at ignoring other people shits.

After paying, I strode out and then immediately went back to driving.

I like spending time on my own. Though I'm still hoping through this strolling that somehow, I'll get tire and finally have the time to sleep. Kaso pati 'yon mukhang bituing mahirap abutin. Nakakapagod din minsang umasa. Nakakadismaya.

The ride did not take me so long.

The place was quiet, though the nature's sounds still there to entertain me. I could hear the crickets who hides behind those tall grasses and trees.

There's no any source of light, just only the glimmer of the moon and stars.

The whole place is a very breath-taking scenery. From my spot, I could clearly visualize the beauty of city lights. This place might be risky to visit but it's one of the most memorable place for me. Marami din kasing ala-ala ang meron dito sa lugar na to para sa akin, especially those memories I had with my parents during my childhood.

I opened the canned soda and took a sip.

I couldn't help but to wonder when will I get some sleep again. Maybe tomorrow? Or the next other day and latter? Maybe few hours from now or it might me just now? Who knows? I don't know?

I told the sky while having the same old lazy smile.

"What are you doing here?"

Napalingon ako bigla sa nagsalita.

She was just few meters away while standing firm from her spot and throwing death glares at me.

Coincidence. It was the same girl at the convenience store I met awhile ago.

I stared at her figure. She have a wavy short hair, rosy cheeks and cute lips. Her pointed small nose complimented to all the features she have. She's pretty but looked so upset right now.

"Are you deaf? I'm asking you! What are you doing here!" This time, her voice pitch got a little higher.

I smirked, "I should be the one asking you that question Miss. Let me revise it," uminom muna ako nang kaunti sa soda ko bago nagpatuloy sa pagsasalita. "Anong gagawin mo rito ngayong dis-oras ng gabi?"

Natahimik siya sa tanong ko. Para bang nalunok niya bigla 'yong dila niya.

"See? Why don't you just let me do whatever I want to? Wala tayong pakielamanan."

"This is my home, asshole. She said that made me so confuse. Is this her home?

I asked her.

Sinamaan niya ko nang tingin.

"Better get out of here if you still love your life." She threatened me once more. Akala niya yata matatakot ako sa kanya.

"Take my life and I owe you big time. I'm too tired of living.

Wow! I never thought she could do it.

"Bakit ba pinapaalis mo ko? Sayo ba 'tong lugar na 'to?" I defended.

"Oo!" Sigaw niya pabalik. "kaya umalis ka na! Layas! Layas! Layas!"

Aba!

Back off! You can't do anything against me." I said then sipped on my soda 'til it got empty.

I crossed my arms afterwards then smiled a sweet smile for her.

She yelled, trying hard to contain all the anger she felt towards me.

The fireflies were scattered everywhere. It made me smile like a little kid.

She was still glaring at me.

"Don't you dare follow me. She said then went to the tall grasses.

As the time goes by, mas lalo lang akong napaisip. Curousity was killing the hell out of me. I need to know where she's going. I want to know!

"I'm lost. " I whispered.

"And you're dead." at saka ako napalingon sa nagsalita.

"Don't blame me, I warned you." was the last thing I heard from her before my vision turned black.
