James' POV

The dreams were back and this time they were almost real. I could almost touch the silhouette of his garment as he drowned my head under water. I tried to scream but I couldn't make a sound. I ran and I ran and he came after me and deeped my head under the waters again. My mother stood by the sink and watched with a smile spread across her cheeks and her eyes missing from it's sockets.

I screamed so loud as I tried to get away from his grip. Then,I woke up with sweat dripping down my back and my forehead .

My hair was wet and the bed was soggy, holding onto to the fragments of my dream on my pillow.

I feared sleep so I stayed awake for the rest of the night and it went on like that for the next one week until I decided I was going to stop trying to sleep at all.

My eyes were sour from staying awake but I couldn't risk to see my Father's face in my dreams.

Since I found the pictures in London,I've been stuck on the same loop and nightmare of my father out to get me. And on

  • Wine Stained Lips   Chapter Ninety Six

EPILOGUE The road is still wet from the rain that fell last night. James was driving the car with Calla in the shot gun seat and their five years old daughter, Anna in the back seat. Anna was singing a song that had been stuck in her head for days. James glenced at his wife and she chuckled at the Anna's wrong lyrics and off key tune."When are we gonna get there?" Calla asked."We'd be there soon." James assures her. They had spend most of the hours on the plane to Boston. It was the first time in five years since they decided to come back to this city. The bittersweet taste and nostalgic breeze of home brush their faces as the cold air came through the driver's window side of the car.James whined up the glass immediately,so Anna doesn't catch a cold. They were back to the place they had fallen for each other, the place the universe brought them together, the place where most of their stories unfolded. They were here to visit Calla's mother's grave. Today makes it ten years ago since

  • Wine Stained Lips   Chapter Ninety Five

Calla's POV I waited by the door, peeping through the hallway. No one was insight. I closed the door back and walked up to the mirror. Ginny had just stepped out to speak with the videographer. My wedding was starting soon and everyone was back bent trying to get everything in place. I was alone in my room as I let the makeup on my face settle. I looked at my wedding gown hung on the dresser door just by the mirror and I was thrown back to being twelve again, day dreaming of this day. My dress was a new collection of Halt Fashion line that Julie and I created. It was a masterpiece and it swelled every emotion in me,just looking at it.I looked into the mirror and cracked a smile. It was happening,I was getting married to James today. It seems just like yesterday I had walked into Ranault Wine office in Boston, excited for an interview that ended up changing the trajectory of Halt Fashion and my life. It's kinda funny how the young boy I thought was arrogant is now the only person i

  • Wine Stained Lips   Chapter Ninety four

James' POVI thought about this day for a very long time. I never thought I'd get married, which makes everything very paradoxical. When I was little and I'd see my parents go feral; my dad on my mum and my mum on herself-- in complete self-destruction. I knew I never wanted that for myself. So,I blocked every possibility. I'd self sabotage and wait for an end in very romantic relationship like I expected it to. Then, all my life changed when I met Calla. It still feels just like a dream. How did I get so drawn to her that I couldn't ignore my feelings?I remember our first fight in Paris and how I almost lost my mind or when we moved to different cities. With Calla,I couldn't lock that part of myself. I couldn't hide, everything she looked at me I felt naked. She saw every flaw I had, every scar, every trauma and she helped heal them. She loved me beyond the baggages of my family. And I loved her in ways I didn't think was possible.Today,we we're getting married. I stood in front of

  • Wine Stained Lips   Chapter Ninety Three

Calla's POV James have been acting weird since we left the house. He was more quiet and he looked lost in thought most of the time. It was probably because I bought up the bar from Boston. I should have been more sensitive. James and his family have been outcasts in Boston since the news of Mr Ranault murder surfaced on the news, since the trial and even after his death. James, his sister and his mother have been away from Boston ever since. I forgot how much life he had there before everything tore them apart. We were in the car driving to the movie place he spoke about. He was sweating and heating up a few minutes ago. Now,he just looked flustered. He didn't even turn to look at me until we got there. The place was some an open field in a golf course. There were blankets on the ground and cars parked around. We parked our car and walked closer to the place where people were. There was a big screen, and the only light around was the one coming from the projector to reflect on the sc

  • Wine Stained Lips   Chapter Ninety Two

James' POVIt's been two weeks since I bought the ring. I was going to purpose tonight. Even though I had spent the past months planning the perfect purposal,I still couldn't shake the anxiety that crawled my skin. I wanted it to be exactly how Calla would dream it to be.I wanted to actualize her wildest dreams.I wanted everything to be perfect.I flew in Aunt Kathy and Julie from Boston to New York just for tonight. I wanted all her loved ones to be here. Although,I had to make sure she had no idea they were in town. In fact,I have to make sure she didn't know because that was part of the plan. It was the last secret I'd have to keep from her, just till tonight.Julie texted me to know they had started setting up the place for where I was going to purpose to her. I replied immediately and switched off my phone in order not to raise any suspicion.Calla was in the shower singing off key to a trendy pop song. I pulled out the ring from my pocket and looked at it again. I took deep bre

  • Wine Stained Lips   Chapter Ninety One

Calla's POV Ginny and I were stuck in traffic after driving down to New Jersey to visit her cousin. She ended up getting a new braids there, leading to us staying longer than we should have. It was already getting late and just when we thought we made it to the road we were stuck of traffic."What do you think is causing this much traffic?" Ginny said frustratedly. She hits the horn on the stiring wheel and pushed her back to the seat. "I don't know...they were filling the potholes when we were coming..." I said tossing a gum in my mouth."At this time? I doubt." She sighed.I strained my eyes to look forward but I could only see cars not moving miles ahead. "Maybe an accident happened.""Ahh...shit." Ginny exclaimed. She pulled down the front mirror and was looking at her braids proudly. She glanced at me quickly before looking away. I guess she felt really bad for keeping us late, but for a moment I swear, I saw a crippling smirk on her face. Maybe she was just excited about her ne
