"Good morning, Stella," Sister Ophelia greeted me with a warm smile as I finally stepped into the dining hall. A wave of gentle "good mornings" followed from the other Nuns, including our Head Nun. It always warms my heart to see their familiar faces.

There are eight of us Nuns now, including our current Head Nun.

It used to be nine, back when Sister Avery, our previous Head Nun, was still with us. This little Church was her dream, you know. She was a brilliant surgeon, a real powerhouse at a huge hospital chain, before she chose this life of devotion. She just wanted to create a peaceful sanctuary where she could truly help others. And that's exactly what she did.

After opening the Church, she started taking in children abandoned by their parents, giving them a home and a future. She taught all of us medicine, so we never have to venture far for any emergencies. She didn't just educate us; she also made sure the less fortunate children, whose parents couldn't afford school, got the l

POV - Ryker lance. I led Travis towards the meeting room, acutely aware of that insufferable cunt trailing us like a shadow. My jaw was practically clenched, my patience wearing thin with every step."You know, Uncle's been funneling more business my way lately," Caden's voice dripped with a smugness that made my skin crawl. "Shouldn't you be a little worried I might just take over the family one day?"Travis let out a derisive snort, the sound practically vibrating with disdain. "As if you're capable enough to rule 'The Croce'," he scoffed, the words laced with an almost casual contempt. From where I was walking, a few paces ahead, I could practically hear Caden grinding his teeth. The sound, even muffled by the distance, sent a jolt of satisfaction through me. It was enough to deter me from giving him the "wake-up call" he so desperately needed, a stark reminder of why he'd never, ever win against me. I guess God just wasn't in the mood for me to unleash my inner beast today. We ma

POV - Ryker Lance. After that unsettling encounter with the Head Nun, I practically flew home. My right-hand man, Travis, was already there, waiting for me in the living room, and the atmosphere in the house was so thick with tension it made my eyebrows shoot up."What happened, Travis?" I asked, already bracing myself.Travis let out a heavy sigh, running a hand through his hair. "The new shipment's coming in a few days, and your old man is making it a living hell for us.""The Russian?" I clarified, my mind immediately going to the volatile cargo. I motioned for him to follow me, heading towards my "office." From the outside, my house was as common as they come, and the office itself looked pretty simple too, filled with model bikes – miniature versions of my favorite rides. If the cops ever raided us, they'd just find a bunch of wild bikers trying to live a quiet life, forming our own little town to avoid bothering "common folks." But what really lay beneath the surface? That was s

POV - Stella Grace. It was another serene day at the Church, peaceful until a woman was brought to us, her labor swift and intense. Sister Ophelia, with her gentle, capable hands, helped her deliver the baby. And what a baby she was! A tiny girl, with features so exquisitely delicate, she was surely the prettiest newborn I had ever laid eyes on.“She is such a beautiful soul,” Sister Jane cooed, her eyes sparkling with pure delight as she watched the baby, nestled warmly in the crib, sleeping soundly. A soft sigh escaped my lips.“I wonder what color her eyes are,” I mused aloud, leaning closer to the crib, captivated by the sweet little angel.“Most probably blue,” the child’s mother suddenly spoke, her voice a little rough with exhaustion. She had fainted after the delivery and had been sleeping for hours, so her sudden awakening startled us all. A few of the Nuns, including myself, jumped back from the crib in a fright, our hearts doing a little flutter. The woman chuckled, a strai

"What are you doing here?" I hissed, my voice barely a whisper but laced with pure venom. "Get out of this room, now!"The infuriating man simply rolled over on my pristine bed, stretching languidly like a spoiled housecat, and then, then he had the audacity to drift off to sleep! On my bed! The sheer audacity of it sent a jolt of pure panic and fury through me, making me pace frantically around the small room. I couldn't scream, couldn't make a scene; the last thing I needed was to wake the entire church. And leaving wasn't an option either – every other part of the building was locked tight, and the Head Nun, with her eagle eyes and even tighter grip on the keys, wouldn't hand them over without a perfectly good reason. My only choice, the only unbearable choice, was to ignore him and try to sleep on the cold, hard floor. But with my blood practically boiling, I knew sleep was a pipe dream.I let out a frustrated huff, yanking out the extra bedding from the almirah with more force tha

The quiet had returned to the church, a blessed hush after days of noisy bikers. It was a relief, truly. But even the peaceful silence couldn't quell the turmoil churning inside me. The image of the head nun, our spiritual leader, defiling our sacred space, was a constant, gnawing presence. How long had this been going on?I wanted to confront her, to demand answers, but every time I tried, the words would lodge in my throat. My mouth simply wouldn’t open. Around her, I felt utterly lost, awkwardly fumbling for composure, and I knew it showed. After a week of my strange behavior, Sister Ophelia, with her kind, perceptive eyes, took me for a walk one evening. “Stella, you’ve been so… off around the head nun,” she began, her lovely face creasing with worry. “Did she do something to you?”My heart rocketed into my throat. The realization hit me like a physical blow: my discomfort was radiating, obvious to everyone, even the head nun herself. As Sister Ophelia waited patiently for my ans
