Third person's POV…

A month later…

“Do you feel nervous?” Miriam asked Alina. They were in the car, heading to the airport.

The day after tomorrow was Alina's grandparents’ memorial and every member of the family had to be present. It was usually done every year. It wasn't observed last year because some members of the extended family were not present and couldn't come back, but this year, attendance was mandatory.

Alina hadn't seen her parents since the last time she visited them and then got drugged, leading to her kidnap. She wondered what they would look like. Even Aria, she hasn't seen her since she left the house for Darren… but now, she was going to see her.

“I don't know how I feel,” she said, staring into thin air.

“Don't worry. What's the worst they can do, huh? Just see you and gossip and backbite as well. They wouldn't come up to your face and spill nonsense. If they do…” she thought for a minute. “Bruno would beat them up”
