A few months ago..

Elena.

A young woman in her twenties, with bright green eyes, a beauty with her smooth, creamy skin, and also her small but ideal stature, was able to make Ben, the old butler at the young master’s resident, amazed.

Not only the her beautiful and simple appearance that stunned him. But also the her polite and well-organized attitude made him quite impressed.

“Sir?” The beauty called him, tilted her head, looking at him in confusion. She spoke in a soft tone, stood straight with both hands claps to each other.

“Oh. You said your name is Elena, right?” He asked again. He kept repeating himself  since he was both excited and worried at the same time.

“Yes, sir. That’s right. My name is Elena.” She nodded and smiled.“I came because someone told me that young master Dawson looking for a maid?” Elena pointed at the  piece of paper that she had given to Ben. It was recruitment paper for a maid in this villa. There was a legal stamp on it, with ZD symbol.

“Ah… yes, yes that’s right! That’s right, Miss…”

“Ben? Who’s that?” A voice from behind the door could be heard clearly. Not long after, a tall man came out and immediately made eye contact with Elena.

“Oh…Oh?”

Ben immediately understood that the two knew each other.

“Miss Elena, right?” The man said, which immediately made Ben step back and let the two of them talk more freely.

Elena bowed politely and nodded. She also remembered him as the one that stopped by at the flower shop where she worked and gave them the recruitment paper. A sweet smile on her beautiful face made the tall man stunned. But soon, he shivered when he felt someone’s intense glare stabbing him on the back of his head.

“Hey, Miss Elena, you remember me, right?” He said, clearing his throat.

“Of course, sir.” Elena nodded. “I come at the right time, right?” she asked softly. It seemed that everyone looked at her with wide eye. Did something wrong with her?

Thomas immediately nodded and took the paper from Ben, “Yes, Miss Elena, we are looking for another maid in this Villa and… oh, please come in. It’s better to talk inside.”

Elena which initially looked doubtful and confused, was now beaming. She already looked around when she first came and this place was no doubt belongs to a crazy rich! She hope she could get the job, as it was written at the recruitment paper, the money would be more than enough to pay her bills and savings.

Thomas invited her in and he glanced at Ben with a meaningful look. Ben understood that and immediately patted his chest in relief.

Thank goodness. She finally came. Otherwise the atmosphere in this villa would be full of the cold and tense aura from the young master who was getting more and more impatient to find this young woman.

Ben stared at Elena's back as she walked in with Thomas. He shook his head and looked at her with pity.

Poor thing, she was still young and a beauty indeed. What had she done to attract the devil’s eye?

He hoped Miss Elena could survive in this extremely dangerous place.

Meanwhile, Elena and Thomas carry out the work agreement smoothly. Making Elena almost unable to believe it.

“So… I got the job?” She asked, still trying to process it. Thomas nodded and smiled politely.

“Yes, you got the job and start very soon. But first we have to discuss a few things.” Thomas started flipping through some documents and handed one file to Elena. It seemed to be an employment contract.

Elena looked at the paper still in shock. Her eyes reading the words but her minds started wandering around.

That easy? She thought. Elena thought she would have to be interviewed with various questions like when she applied for several jobs before. But this time was different. All she did was sit down and Thomas nodded saying that she was matched their criteria.

She didn't understand, didn't everyone she met earlier say it was so hard to get a job in this place that they fail? The high pay for young master Dawson’s maid made many young woman tempted. Especially those who didn't have a higher education like her who were looking for a job with a big sum of money to live in this big city.

Elena's mind went back to a week ago. When she met Thomas that bought a flower bouquet and hand her the recruitment paper. It truly shocked when she saw how much they will pay the maid. She asked her work partner about it, thinking it might be a scam, but they assure her that it was Zachary Dawson’s personal assistant himself that handing her the paper.

Elena had been working at the florist for two months and she loved it. Working with beautiful flowers relaxes her mind, not to mention she loved arranging flowers since she was a child.

But even so, the salary from making bouquet of flowers was still not enough to cover her living expenses. Luckily, she had another part-time job at a restaurant not far from the florist. Two jobs a day, she always came home tired. But when she found another part time job the weekend, she took it, and rarely sleep more than five hours a day.

She needed all of that. Because she had no one to support her, like her friends back in the high school. She is an orphan. She doesn't know who her parents are. Since she was a baby, she lived in an orphanage, in a village on the outskirts of the town.

She lived there and was adopted by several families, but she always returned there. Elena was heartbroken, she didn't want to be adopted even if it was only for a while. What she wanted was a warm family. But those who took her in as a child, only wanted her to be bait so that their wife would get pregnant. After that, she was abandoned.

Ever since the last family returned her, she lived at the orphanage until she was eighteen.

Since she was ready to find a job and live on her own without guardian , Elena gathers her resolve to move out and continue her new life. Her best friend in high school, Henry, invited her to go to the city and find her a job, and she's thrilled.

She could pay for her bills and fill her savings, because she still keep her dream about going to college. It may be an impossible dream for a poor girl like her, but she didn't want to give up hope.

Now, her hopes were even higher when she got the job. A maid in a villa on a hill owned by the young master of Dawson family, Zachary Dawson.

Elena, who had just moved to the city a couple of years ago, did not know him specifically, not to mention she never saw his face. But she did ever heard of the Dawson family. They were a wealthy family, a conglomerate that ruled the city. Even the third richest person in the country.

But besides that, Elena also heard gossip about this conglomerate family. More precisely, rumour she got when she told her co-workers that she wanted to try to apply for the maid position in this villa, two days ago.

“Are you sure?” Lia, her co-worker asked her while she was arranging a bouquet customer’s order.

“Yes, the salary is really high! Maybe this can help me stable my finance, instead of having to work three jobs for a full week.” She answered with a tired smile.

“But dear, do you know what the Dawson family is like? Not to mention…” Lia took the paper that had been placed on the table.

“… This villa belongs to Zachary Dawson. Young Master Dawson. Do you know the rumors circulating about him?” Lia said looking horrified and worried. Elena could only shake her head.

Lia took a deep breath before facing the poor innocent girl, “Rumor has it that Zachary Dawson is a cruel, cold-blooded man. He run his family underground business, like… you know… drug dealer and all… Most importantly,” Lia looked at her seriously, still whispering as if she’s afraid anyone over hearing them. “….He hates woman, disgusted even when he sees us. Many people couldn’t stand working for a log period in that villa. Some of the women who work there have never been seen again until now.”

Elena was stunned. Really? She thinned her lips. If it’s about their ilegall business then okay… but the others? Why it sounded like she just made it up? Or other people telling those lies only to frightened their friends, right? Should she just ask Henry?

Lia continued, "Some even say that Zachary Dawson had turned into a vampire who likes to prey on people." She said, shuddering in horror.

Okay. Elena almost rolled her eyes in front of the very serious Lia. That last sentence from her just assure her that those only baseless rumour.

There is no such thing. young master Dawson only looking for a maid, anyway. Right?

  • YOUNG MASTER'S OBSESSION   Chapter 84: A Mother's Farewell

Elena sighed as she looked at the beautiful shimmering ocean. The wind blew her hair. She took a deep breath and closed her eyes. The sea breeze that once cleared her thoughts, the waves that once soothed her, now made her feel suffocated. Not without reason, but these days, she couldn’t even step out of the villa like she used to.Zachary forbid her to go out without him.She couldn’t even go to the beach, the private beach just under the cliff. He tightened the security. More and more big men in suits guarded the place, until Elena felt like she was trapped in a prison.A luxury prison. It had been two months since they stayed here. Not that Elena had started to hate this place. The villa, the island, everything was beautiful. But what was the point when she couldn’t enjoy it?And Zachary was absent most of the time. She barely saw him. Even these days, at night, she couldn’t feel his presence beside her on the bed.Elena knew.He was keeping his words. He had promised to build a sa

  • YOUNG MASTER'S OBSESSION   CHAPTER 83: My Woman, My Future, My Wife...

The sun on the island rose slow and heavy, spilling gold across the sea like melted metal. Zachary’s villa, his private fortress carved into the cliff, was wrapped in the quiet hush of early morning. The world outside was waking, but inside their bedroom, time felt suspended.Elena blinked awake first. Her cheek rested on Zachary’s bare chest, her fingers curled lightly at the place where his heartbeat thumped, slow and steady, like the pulse of the earth. He had fallen asleep holding her, practically wrapped around her, one arm over her waist, the other beneath her pillow, his leg thrown protectively across hers. She had nowhere to go, and he made sure of it.Slowly, she lifted her head, noticing the faint lines on his face. He looked… peaceful. Softer. Younger. But even asleep, he held her like someone terrified of losing her.She brushed her fingers lightly along his jaw and Zachary’s eyes opened immediately. Not groggy. Not confused. Just awake, alert, and solely focused on her.“

  • YOUNG MASTER'S OBSESSION   CHAPTER 82: HIS HEIR, HIS FEAR

The doctor’s footsteps faded down the corridor, swallowed slowly by the vast silence of the villa.A silence that didn’t feel empty anymore. It felt alive, vibrating, shifting.Elena’s breath trembled in her chest as Zachary stayed kneeling before her, his forehead still hovering against her stomach as if he were afraid to lift his eyes and wake from a fragile dream.Or a nightmare. She couldn’t tell which.“Zachary…” she whispered. His hands tightened on her hips, not painfully, just enough to still her breath.“Say it again,” he murmured, voice barely holding itself together. “Please.”Her heart fluttered painfully. She'd never heard him ask for anything so sincerely. Never heard him plead in that weak tone. “I’m… pregnant.”His breath ripped out of him in one violent exhale. A sound too raw, too broken, too full. He didn’t move for several seconds. Not a word. Not a breath.Just silence strangling him and the tremor under his palms.Then...He kissed her stomach. Not softly. Not s

  • YOUNG MASTER'S OBSESSION   CHAPTER 81: THE TEST RESULT

Elena had never heard silence roar before, she even let out the air from her little by little, afraid that her own breath bothered the silence. But in the master bedroom in the villa on the edge of the cliff, the quiet was deafening. It pressed against her ribs, crawled up her throat, and settled like a stone behind her heartbeat. The villa was too quiet.Too… empty.Elena’s eyes drifted to the hallway beyond the open door. “Zachary… the workers. Why is the house so...”“Don’t,” he said softly, but with that dangerous finality she knew well. She swallowed. Her voice came thin. “Are they…?”He didn’t look away. “Yes.”A cold ripple ran through her spine. All the villa workers. Gone. Because Henry reached her. Because Zachary failed once... once, to predict a threat. She gripped her arms. “They didn’t deserve it...”“They allowed a breach.” His tone was low, controlled. “Their lives were paid by the wrong hands, not mine. Henry killed them. I ended Henry.”She stared at him.It wasn’t

  • YOUNG MASTER'S OBSESSION   CHAPTER 80: THE FRAGILE HOURS

The villa had never felt so quiet. Not even the silence after Zachary’s violent nights matched this one. A silence that wrapped the walls like a held breath, heavy and trembling. The moment they crossed the threshold, Elena felt the weight of everything she hadn’t processed pressing in on her.Zachary didn’t let her walk. Not inside. Not even across the creamy marble floors. He held her as if she would disappear the moment he loosened his grip.“Elena, careful,” he murmured, guiding her closer to his chest when she shifted. “Lean on me. Don’t try to move.”Her voice was small, raw. “I’m okay… really.” Her cheeks went red. “No,” he whispered, tightening his hold. “Not after what happened. Not after what almost happened.”His words cracked on the edges, but his steps stayed steady as he carried her straight to the master bedroom, the one he’d never allowed anyone else to enter. Not even servants. He laid her on the bed carefully, like she was something sacred. Or breakable.Elena’s fi

  • YOUNG MASTER'S OBSESSION   CHAPTER 79: THE QUIET AFTER THE RUIN

The world didn’t fall silent. It collapsed. One moment Elena was bracing for the gunshot from Henry’s shaking hands. She felt the burn of the cold muzzle against her skin, and heard Zachary’s voice low enough to freeze the world. It happened in a flash. The sound of a loud crack followed by a body hitting the floor.Henry slid down like a puppet with its strings cut, eyes still wide with the last fragment of obsession he’d ever feel.Blood pooled beneath him, blooming slowly like a dark, wilting flower.Elena froze on her feet, eyes widened stared at him.Her heartbeat thudded once, twice, then stopped. She didn’t scream, didn’t move, didn’t breathe. Something inside her simply… went still.Henry was dead. The boy who gave her ice cream. The boy who held her hand behind the chapel. The boy who promised to protect her.The boy who destroyed every home she ever tried to belong to.The one and only person she thought was her only 'best-friend'. Gone. Her knees buckled. But Zachary caugh
