Taotie Restaurant and the Tredecember Hotel were known for not deferring to anyone!

They would welcome those who were rich and influential and shut their doors firmly to those who were not!

However, even those who had spent a good fortune to dine at Taotie Restaurant or Tredecember Hotel had never seen the managers of these places being so deferential to a guest.

Jing Liyuan was definitely the first person who had been on the receiving end of this kind of treatment!

All the diners in the restaurant stopped eating and turned to stare at Jing Liyuan when they saw how afraid the manager was of offending him. They couldn't help but try to guess his identity.

Jing Liyuan ignored the speculative gazes and shot a look at Xiang Chen. He said softly, "There's no need for that, Mr. Huang. I'll dine in the public area today. However, I don't wish to be disturbed. My fiancé is a little timid and will not be able to handle the stress!"

He looked at Xiang Chen while addressing Manager Huang, so who wouldn't be curious to know who exactly this man was? Nonetheless, they could only continue staring at him in a daze since they had no idea who he was. Mr. Huang, the manager of Taotie Restaurant, was very perceptive, so after a quick glance at Yin Xiaoxiao, he quickly asked the waiters to "usher" Yin Ruoyun and Xiang Chen to their room.

After Xiang Chen left, Jing Liyuan no longer seemed as aloof as he had been earlier. He looked down and saw that Yin Xiaoxiao was staring up at him. She quickly looked away when she saw that he had caught her gaze.

Mr. Huang stood at attention as though he was prepared to personally attend to them, but Jing Liyuan completely ignored him. His grip around Yin Xiaoxiao's shoulders tightened, and then he bent down and dropped a tender kiss above her right eyebrow. However, his gentle voice soon sent chills down her spine.

He said, "Yin Xiaoxiao, I'd love to see how you're going to deal with Xiang Chen. If I'm not satisfied with the way you handle him, I'll send you to stay at the Jing family's house for a week."

She immediately stiffened at his words.

A week with the Jing family? He might as well kill her!

Jing Liyuan went back to his seat after sharing this "intimate" moment with her and allowed Mr. Huang to attend to their meal. He ignored the curious stares of the other diners and his spirits lifted when he saw how perplexed she was.

She studied him carefully and couldn't help but wonder how she should deal with this.

She was never one to drag her feet when it came to relationships and the moment she discovered Xiang Chen's betrayal, their relationship was over. However, what was she supposed to do when Xiang Chen was the one coming on to her? Was she supposed to fight back? This didn't make sense! Then again, Jing Liyuan didn't seem satisfied, so what was she supposed to do?

She didn't enjoy the meal at all, not even when the mango mid-joint wings were served!

Jing Liyuan was a jinx she had brought upon herself! Why was he so hard to please?

Jing Liyuan sent Yin Xiaoxiao home later that evening and went inside to greet Yin Baifan and Li Meng. They hadn't expected to see Xiang Chen and Yin Ruoyun again and Yin Xiaoxiao's expression immediately darkened.

"Dad, mom," Yin Xiaoxiao greeted her parents politely before moving to stand quietly in the corner.

Jing Liyuan walked over holding her tiny handbag and this delicate bag matched him perfectly as a perfect balance of masculine and feminine elements. Xiang Chen panicked when he saw how comfortable they seemed with each other and even forgot why he had come to the Yin family's house.

"Dad, mom," Jing Liyuan said politely as his gaze swept across the room.

"Hello," Yin Baifan said coolly. He didn't seem too satisfied with Jing Liyuan as a son-in-law, especially after Manager Zhang called to express his love for Yin Xiaoxiao that day. He felt that Jing Liyuan's family background paled in comparison to Manager Zhang's, so he was reluctant to engage him in conversation.

Li Meng was more welcoming and immediately smiled when she spotted the couple. She even added, "Hey, you came at the right time. We'd like to discuss some things with you."

Yin Xiaoxiao looked at Li Meng in confusion. They had never once sought her opinion, so why were things different today?

Jing Liyuan didn't seem to think much of it. He led Yin Xiaoxiao to the sofa and sat directly across Yin Ruoyun and Xiang Chen. Yin Ruoyun leaned against Xiang Chen shyly, looking very much like a woman in love.

"Mom, what's the matter?" Yin Xiaoxiao immediately asked after she took her seat.

Li Meng looked at Yin Ruoyun with an approving smile before she turned to look at Yin Xiaoxiao and asked softly, "Xiaoxiao, when do you intend to hold your wedding with Liyuan? After all, you're Ruoyun's sister, so if you intend to hold your wedding with Liyuan soon, I'll ask Ruoyun and Xiang Chen to hold off for a while. They won't mind waiting a while and Xiang Chen dotes on Ruoyun so much that I'm sure he'll understand..."

Yin Xiaoxiao immediately understood that Li Meng was trying to ask her to let Yin Ruoyun hold her wedding ceremony first!

The eldest son of the Yin family, Yin Zizhen wasn't around but it didn't matter since this was an issue that women were more adept at handling. Thus, Li Meng 'politely' sought Yin Xiaoxiao's opinion so that Yin Ruoyun would be able to get married without any disruptions.
