I just knew something had happened when I tried to call Diya earlier and her phone kept ringing with no response. When she had eventually answered, I could tell something was off. I was trying to be calm and understanding, but I needed to know what was going on. I wasn’t sure what was happening and not knowing was driving me insane more. I heard footsteps and quickly placed my phone down.
“Hey,” Elisa said, chirpier than normal.
“Someone sounds happy,” I said, looking at her. "I know it's not me who is responsible for that cheery mood, but I like it."
“Why wouldn’t I be happy? Our plans are going well. I am happy, everyone is happy,“ She shrugged, taking a seat across from me on the desk.
“You are happier than usual today.” I smile

Diya When the police came and took me, I was tired. I knew I was innocent. Screaming or shouting was going to stop them from taking me. I would waste energy trying to get my husband to rescue me. He had shown me he wanted me to suffer. I had prayed that I would be proven innocent and my prayer was answered. I got help from the person I didn’t expect, but I took the help. “Do you need anything?” my mom asked as we got into her house. “No, thanks,” I shook my head, looking around. The apartment was clean and tiny. Everything seemed in place and the picture I had in my head was not the same. Diya I was still a little shaken by Ace’s reaction to my pregnancy. I never planned this, but it happened. This was shocking to me too and Ace's reaction was making me feel worse. Matt I was surprised to get a frantic call from Diya asking for my help. She told me she was in danger and she was afraid of her husband. I did not know what happened, but she said she had something important to tell me too. I didn’t know what to expect, and I realized I had left without a second thought. My heart skipped as I thought of Elisa and Thomas accusing me of being in love with her. I wasn’t in love. She was in danger and she needed my help. Period. I wouldn't help her if she asked. Diya I heard footsteps again. I did not know how long I had been in this position. I looked up and saw Elisa and she looked happy, smiling. She walked closer to the glass and folded her hands. She never spoke, but I could sense her. The way she watched me, smugly. She didn't have to rub it in my face with words, and she knew it.
