Jennifer knew what Maxwell was referring to.

She pouted sadly. "The university assigned us internships. I didn't have anything to do with the choice! Who knew I would be assigned to Dr. Lowe's cardiovascular surgery department?"

"I can tell you're pretty happy about it." Maxwell muttered, "Are you planning to apply for his graduate program too? You haven't mentioned any of this to me."

Jennifer hadn't made up her mind yet. After all, there were limited spots in Nathan's graduate program, and she had fierce competition with students from other schools. She wasn't confident that she could get in.

So, she pulled his hand and pouted. "Don't take Quincy's words to heart. I haven't made up my mind yet."

Maxwell couldn't stay mad at her when he saw her pouting. He picked her up and plopped her on his lap. "Feed me."

"What?" Jennifer was surprised but quickly reacted.

With a blush, she took a pastry and fed it to him.

Maxwell only took a few bites before cuddling her. "You should rest.
