PART TWO: CHAPTER TEN
While Zaramanni watched the lips of the healer who was explaining some things to Sham, she realized that she was no longer feeling pain in her chest.
The pain had been quite a lot when the doctor earlier attended to her injury.
But, a few minutes later, there she was, re-bandaged and feeling no pain.
Zaramanni, who had now fully acknowledged the fact that she was indeed carrying fairy blood, wondered if drastic reduction of pain was an advantage that came with being a half-fairy.
She did recall experiencing quick healing when she was still on Earth.

Grunting loudly as the sizzling purple-coloured portal led her to the supposed meeting point, Alisha racked her head once more to remember what had happened after she and Zara were taken out of the deep pit. When she finally came to, she was surrounded by a lot of blood, random eyeballs, some torn limbs, and creeping night sounds that summed up the disturbing state of the nearly empty place. The first thing Zara noticed as she walked into her assigned room in the manor was her phone.The device stayed lifeless on the bed, next to a neatly arranged pile of clothes.Recalling that she lost the new bag she got while she was with Alisha, Zara felt ecstatic that the things that reminded her of home were still around. Though she missed her hoodie, Zara was glad she had her phone and tote bag.Zaramanni raced toward the bed and hit the power button of the device, eager to hear that familiar tone and see the image that would remind her of home.While she waited for her phone to boot, her sight travelled to the stack of garments. "I can't believe I forgot to get shoes," Clarissa sounded displeased as she watched Zaramanni struggle with the second leg of the thick socks she brought for her.They were on their way to the library when Zara pointed out how chilly the ground was. Clarissa rushed to a nearby room to get some footwear, but, somehow, she forgot shoes."Are the socks okay?" Clarissa asked, with great worry. "Are they a perfect size? It seems your feet are a little bigger than mine."Soon, Zaramanni planted her covered feet on the ground and she relished how comfortable she was. It was as though the footwear had cushions in them because they made standing more convenient."They fit very well, Clarissa. His firm hold around Laura's neck maintained, his lips explored the skin around her shoulder area, and King Darren quickly wondered if Zaramanni made it to the manor and if she had already met Lord Elias.He trusted that the librarian would explain things to the half-fairy.For some reason, he was yet to bring himself to have a conversation with her. As Zaramanni walked into her room, she asked herself a question she had never thought of. For the first time, she wondered who her parents were. No doubt, one of them was a fairy, the other a human. But, while growing up with her granny, there was no mention of who her parents were. Nor were there pictures or proof in form of material things that could point out that her parents were ever around. There was nothing that could indicate who they were either. That thought failed to weigh her down. Zaramanni was quick to dismiss it since she wouldn’t be getting answers soon. Zara was about to reach for her phone after shifting the ball of clothes on her bed aside when she felt a sudden tap on her shoulders, the touch making her greatly startled. In the process of spinning her legs, her heart seemed to beat slower but she soon sighed with relief when she saw the person who had asked for her attention. ‘What were you thinking, Zaramanni?’ The shrill voice of the principal reached her ears. ‘You almost killed Gavin!’ Rustling noises followed. ‘What were you even doing with broken glasses?’ Zaramanni looked up, her hard gaze tearing away from her hands which were coated with Gavin’s blood hours ago. When she locked eyes with the principal, the woman whose red-ginger hair was well layered on her shoulders in all of its glow, let out a soft gasp. It was almost as though she could see something in Zara’s eyes that she had never seen before. But, the principal soon composed herself, cleared her throat, sat up, and said, ‘You have to be punished for what you have done. You almost killed Gavin. If not for his kindness and consideration, you will be in jail right now.’ ‘Mrs. Amber,’ Gavin spoke from where he was seated. ‘It is fine. She must have been angered by something. “Who are you?” Beta Zoey’s booming voice questioned, his feet approaching the aching scene. The man who was speaking cruelly to Clarissa got on his feet. “I-” Zoey temporarily paid no heed to Andrea whose countenance had quickly changed. After helping Zaramanni off the ground, the Beta's face wore a frown because of a little groan that slipped out of Zara's lips. The way she dearly held the side of her stomach concerned Zoey as well. That display of slight pain caused Zoey to dart flaming glares in the direction of the strange man that had found his way into the manor. “What did you do?” he demanded. “I- I didn’t mean to-” Andrea sighed as he watched the uniformed men who were walking with Beta Zoey help Clarissa. “I was just trying to talk to my mate.” “Clarissa?” Zoey was still closely holding Zara, as though saying he would never leave her unless something forces him to do so. “Yes.
