Twenty-One

“Wait, you are an orphan?” Chris was stunned and didn't want to say something so harsh. But it came out anyway and he had to wait until she chewed on a piece of poultry for a whole minute of awkward silence. “People are not orphans after they turn 18, Chris”“You didn't know your girlfriend's parents passed, Christopher?” His mother chastised, but Kiara spoke before he could.“I didn't tell him. The subject n

Twenty-Two

Kiara felt better after their talk in the morning. The night ended on a bad note and she just hoped he hadn’t read much into her while she pretended to sleep. Her shower did little to soothe the rise of emotions she didn’t want to feel, but at least sleep did what the water couldn’t. She was actually excited about the day.Chris indeed bought her clothes for the Thanksgiving celebrations. Or rather, had someone else buy it, because the sense of fashion of the chosen outfits was simply too accurate to be his own. The man knew only business formal and full black-tie, for fucks sake. Since the day was divided into two fairly different events, he got her two sets of clothes appropriate for each occasion. She h

Twenty-Three

Kiara was dumbstruck in the worst possible way. Did he really cave just like that? From what she gathered from the previous conversation, this was a project Chris invested a great amount of time and money on. He spoke of it with such conviction and pride that she thought it was his masterpiece within the company. If she was in a similar situation, she’d probably tell his father to fuck off right away. Of course, that was not possible in corporate business but still, there were diplomatic strategies that could be used to convey th

Twenty-Four

Chris was glad Kiara made herself scarce for the rest of the afternoon. He was not in the mood to face the know-it-all expression she was sporting when in fact she knew shit about him and his life. He knew she had a strong personality from the beginning, but he didn’t imagine the amount of stress she’d put him through. The reasons for choosing her as his fake girlfriend were getting blurred in his mind. Sure, she was hot enough for his parents to believe he’d date her and yet sufficiently different for them to see the breakup as inevitable. It would be a perfect situation if she were just a tiny bit more cooperative.

Twenty-Five

Kiara was out of the room by the time Chris left the bathroom, and he wondered where she might have gone without him. She knew they were supposed to arrive together at the party and hoped she didn’t spoil his mother’s entrance plans by getting down to the main floor too early. He was fixing his hair when he heard the door opening, and almost choked on thin air when he saw her. Why dear God would allow that vision from heaven to be standing in front of him was beyond his comprehension. He had literally jerked off to her almost naked body not half an hour before, now he was just as willing to do it again to that fully dressed image in front of him.

Twenty-Six

Kiara was sad to take out her dress. She felt amazing in it, especially after Chris’ heartfelt compliment, and was determined to keep it. She didn’t think she’d have another opportunity to use it, but she could always crash a fancy-ass party if she had to. Now that she was alone, her mind wandered back to their earlier encounter. After that shit show with his father, she was determined to distance herself until the ‘job’ was done. But when it was just the two of them, he went back to being… fun. She still didn’t like him, mostly because he was an entitled prick, but she couldn’t deny how interesting it was to be around the man.

Twenty-Seven

Before the show, Chris positioned himself on the virtual front row of the stage, with his friends plastered on his side waiting for answers. “Chris, what are you doing?”“You’ll see” He looked at his watch to confirm the time. Two to midnight, any moment now. The lights shifted towards the object in the middle of the winter garden and his breath was caught up on his throat. He smiled at the memory of her explanation on

Twenty-Eight

Did the fucker really just leave? At that point, Kiara didn’t know if the redness on her face was due to arousal or rage. Either way, the anger was definitely there. She was minding her own fucking business before the idiot stormed into the room like a lustful animal but he sure as hell wasn’t allowed to quit that whole shenanigan before she was done. And she was far from done, considering the heat she still felt on her pussy even after his ludicrous stunt. She looked into the mirror noticing the redness on her lips and cursed again. The bastard knew how to do a damn good make-out session, and she was sure he would have some tricks up his sleeve for the actual did if it came to it.

Twenty-Nine

Chris knew his friends were holding back a laugh about his current situation. Right after she left, he explained everything to the two unsupportive asses in front of him. From the ring theft to the kiss the night before. He didn’t plan to spill the whole thing, but Luke was sort of a master in reading people and knew he was trying to bullshit his way out right from the beginning.“Just say it already, I’m an idiot” He was feeling the judgmental stares and knew they would criticize his decision to bring her to his home. “You are, but not for the reason you t

Thirty

Kiara went into the kitchen with Marcus, sticking to her plan to avoid being with Chris alone. If she were to be completely honest, it was more of a self-preservation move than anything else. She wasn’t mad anymore, just a little sexually frustrated, but she couldn’t shake the feeling that she’d allow things to escalate again if they were left alone. Especially after he quit the formal attire and was sporting jeans and a t-shirt like a normal man. But he had already hit strike three. First by being rich, which was a giant red flag she was only just willing to ignore. But then he screwed things up twice with his daddy’s boy attitude, and enough is enough.
