CHAPTER 11
I blinked several times before finally responding. I shook my head as an answer to his question and entered the car, quietly. The door stayed open on my side as he gently moved his head forward towards me.  He made sure our eyes met at the same level as he opened his mouth to speak.“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to make you mad,” he started. “It’s just that…” As if he couldn’t continue his words, he bit his lower lip, not knowing how to say it. He yanked his head away from me as he messed up his hair. “Argh! Fuck!” he shouted. It looked like he was having a hard time explaining himself. I smiled secretly in my head. I was now a little relieved and contented with his reaction. I heaved a sigh and tried my best to act cold. “Get in,” I said, trying to look unfazed by his actions. He sighed then closed the car door on my side. He went towards the other side of the car and as he opened the door from the driver’s seat, he s

CHAPTER 12
It was captivating to see the mesmerizing scene of the endless pitch black sky wavering in front of us. It was filled with a lot of stars gazing as the wind would slowly brush pass our skin, making our beings a lot more comfortable. We were leaning on a tree, trying to enjoy the view of the majestic city engulfed with nothing but darkness and the city lights. I don’t know why but my current state feels so calm and collected. As I breathe out the cold air, grasping on our bodies, I felt his hand slowly making his way towards mine. I looked at our hands, slowly intertwining. It was perplexing, how I wasn’t even uncomfortable or surprised that he grabbed my hand. There was only this feeling of tidal waves crushing onto my chest.“I’m sorry,” he whispered. I slowly glanced at him, looking straight in his eyes until he was the first one to avert his gaze and looked forward at the scenery in front of us. I continued to stare at him."I don't know if you care but

CHAPTER 13
My mind seemed to wander elsewhere as I stare right into space. It’s been a month since we got married and if I do say so myself our relationship looks steady. We’re slowly getting to know each other or more likely I’m trying to get to know him better since it looked like he knows almost everything about me; in terms of my favorites.“Don’t you have any plans of telling them?” I blinked and glanced at him. He was staring right into my eyes as he changed the channel on the television. We were currently sitting on the living room, watching an action movie.I heaved a sigh. “I do want to tell them but I’m not sure how to start it,” I said, putting my hands into my face. “I just know my parents will be sad and a little disappointed since they both think like those people from the Stone Age,” I added, looking at him again. “And there’s my pregnant friend, she’s quite sensitive right now so I don’t think this is the right time.”“I guess it can’t be helped,” he responded

CHAPTER 14
Despite having a lot of things that were preventing me from functioning well, I don’t know how I was able to come to the company without any scratches. There are a lot of things in my mind lately.Even though I wanted to talk to my only friend about the situation I’m into, I couldn’t tell her at all. Cassandra had once suffered from a miscarriage and I was there when it happened. It was a pity but more importantly a lot more painful for my friend as she had expected her baby to live. After that incident, I had vowed myself to always buying her whatever she wanted; probably also because of the trauma I sustained from that time.As we were chatting along the table; joking, goofing around and exchanging small talks, we would smile at each other while scooping onto the ice cream I bought.I hope I don’t doze off while listening to her saying all sorts of myth regarding pregnant woman. After a while, she started mentioning Rozz again which led to the two of us into anot

CHAPTER 15
I’m confused with myself. For some reason, I’m having a hard time deciding what to do plus… it’s funny if you think of it like this; I’ve been influenced by Cassandra with being a goody good two shoes. It’s probably been a few minutes since Ivann left the bar with his shoulders sinking in disappointment. I already moved on and I no longer hold any feelings for him except resentment. I crossed my arms, waiting for my husband to arrive at the door. “I hope I don’t make a bad choice of staying with you,” I thought to myself as I closed my eyes. There might have been a lot of things bugging me and how I’m doubtful of his actions and words. A warm hand caressed my cheek gently as I smelled his familiar scent. I could tell that it was him with just a glance. I opened my eyes, only to see him looking straight back at me. He’s hair was in a mess and how sturdy his body looked like. I didn’t move and only let him do what he wants. It’s only been a few hours yet

CHAPTER 16
“You’re creepy,” I pointed out at the man smiling at me. We’re currently in a Korean restaurant, eating. When we woke up earlier it was already passed the time for dinner and so we just decided to eat outside. “I love you,” he said once again before putting a handful of food on a spoon in his mouth. I bit my lower lip as I averted my gaze. Damn, he’s suddenly being so sweet. The moment we woke up earlier, he wouldn’t stop saying those words anymore. It’s even funny if you think of this way. I’ve been waiting for this all along and now, he keeps repeating it like a broken platform. I gazed at him when I felt his hand touch mine above the table. “Thank you,” he said, full of emotions in his words. I smiled at him and reached out my hand to gently squeeze his, “I’m not a narrowed minded person plus… you’re my husba

CHAPTER 17
It’s already my third time visiting him in his office yet I’m still not used to him whenever he transform into a serious businessman. It feels like I’m looking at a different person while he’s there busy talking to a client. “Thank you for your cooperation, Mr. Castanio,” the middle aged man mumbled, shaking the hand of my husband.“Thank you as well, Sir Ilba.” Daevon nodded, reciprocating the handshake. After a while they bid themselves goodbye and the old man started walking away.“Another successful client,” I said as he started walking towards my direction.A smile crept into his face as he sat down beside me, circling his arms around my belly followed by kissing my temple. He’s like a different man from earlier, it’s hardly believable.  “Do you want to somewhere?” he asked. I leaned on his chest before gazing at him to speak. “I just want to

CHAPTER 18
When I arrived at the hospital, I immediately rushed towards my friend’s room. I saw her at the far corner of the room, staring blankly into space while auntie was there, caressing her hair gently.Cassandra’s mom looked at me when she noticed my presence. A bitter smile formed into her lips before tapping on her daughter’s shoulder. “My child, Ayesha’s here.” Her face slowly turned to look at me as I made my way to sit by her side. Auntie in turn, stood up from her seat and walked towards the door. “I’ll just buy some food for us to eat,” she said and I nodded. I gazed back to look at my friend again and held her hand. What happened? I hope it’s not what I think it is. My eyes automatically landed on her stomach and so I closed my eyes for a second, biting my lower lip. Please… When I heard a sob escaped her lips, I opened my eyes again. She weakly smiled at me while tears were starting to build on her brown orbs.&nb

CHAPTER 19
I was sipping my coffee when Daevon entered my office. He seems to be serious but at the same time afraid of looking at me. I continued to look at him with an expressionless face as I greeted his eyes. I can see how he sighed to himself before making his way to sit in front of my table.I leaned my back on my chair and crossed my legs while looking at him.“I’m sorry.” He was the first to talk as usual and gave me the same look he always does whenever we fight. He claimed my hand at the top of the table and gently squeezed it. “I didn’t mean to do that but I do not have any choice,” he added to which I raised one of my eyebrows. Again, he deeply sighed. Is this guy full of air inside? He walked towards me and grabbed my hand again before pulling me upward to stand.I stiffen in place when he lowered his gaze and leaned his head on my shoulder before wrapping his hands around my torso. “She’s mentally disabled,” he simply explained. I’m surprised b

CHAPTER 20
It’s been three weeks since Cassandra left and I must say I miss her. I sighed to myself while looking at the papers in front of me. It isn’t really hard to manage the things in her company since her secretary was helping me plus there’s Auntie always there to assist me and of course, husband who didn’t leave me alone. It’s a good thing that my parents also allowed me to work here and labeled it as an experience for this sort of field. Well, in fact, they’re quite enthusiastic when they found out I’m working. I might say that I’ve been happy for the past few weeks that came by despite having some mixed emotions with my friend leaving. She removed all of her connection in the Philippines except for her mom. I even feel like sulking every time I think of it but instead, I tried to understand her. She probably needs to fix herself. I was only back to reality when I heard the door clicking open. I saw my secretary coming in with her usual attire. She lowered h
