Chapter 21
Chapter 21 Cheyenne’s heart stopped and all the snacks in her arms felt heavy, too heavy. She ended up dropping the snacks and turning to face her demon. “What the hell are you doing here?” Oliver tilted his head and smiled wickedly at her. “You thought I wouldn’t find you, sweet heart? I’ve always known where you were.” “What?” “There’s never a day I didn’t or don’t know where you are.” Cheyenne froze in her spot. He always knew where she was? How could that be possible? “Well, no. I don’t always know where you are. That day when you went ice skating with that disgusting man, I don’t know where he took you.” She looke

Chapter 22
Chapter 22 Nadia sped down the highway, headed straight back to the pack house. She had an unconscious Cheyenne in her passenger seat and snuck glances at her to make sure she was okay. After Nadia had beat Oliver nearly to death, she rushed back into the room to pack up their things and get out of there. That’s when she found Cheyenne passed out on the floor with tear streaks down her face. Nadia could hear that she was still breathing and her heart beat was shallow. Nadia had predicted that maybe her shock finally caught up to her. Nadia honestly didn’t know what happened to Cheyenne, she just knew that she needed to get her to her mate. Horns beeped out loudly as Nadia bobbed and weaved through lanes to get back to the pack house. Nadia thought long and hard about wh

The thought of anyone hurting you just makes me angry. So I cut him. He wasn’t too happy about that.”Skylar growled.“He touched you?”“He grabbed my knife and shoved me against the vending machine. He pushed my arm against my back.”Skylar’s low growl startled Cheyenne as he kept her gaze, eyes blazing with fury. She knew that his anger wasn’t geared at her and she knew he wouldn’t hurt her.“You cut him for thr

Chapter 25
Chapter 25  Cheyenne found herself tied against the wall in chains again. She’s become used to the abuse by now and felt numb to it. Oliver paced back and forth in front of her, telling her about his day. Like she cared. “I saw a picture of you on a ‘missing persons’ board today.” Oliver smiled, reveling in the memory. “I guess someone is looking for you. Never thought I’d see the day when you were being looked for. It’s not like you have any family.” Cheyenne grit her teeth but said nothing. “But y

Chapter 26
Chapter 26 After their heated shower, they went back to their rooms and dressed in sweats. Skylar watched as Cheyenne pulled the gray sweats over her curvy body, up to her waist and pulled a sports bra over her breasts. Skylar decided to just stick with sweat pants. Cheyenne kept her back to him as she pulled her luscious, locked hair into a pony tail at the top of her head. Skylar has wanted to mate her over an over again in the shower but he refrained, not wanting to scare Cheyenne back into her shell. He was loving that she was moving so freely and speaking her mind and allowing him to touch her. Soon she’d let him truly finish their bond. Skylar was looking forward to it. “You’re staring.” Cheyenne said, glancing at him in the mirror.

Chapter 27
Chapter 27 Cheyenne didn’t feel anything but love and safety in Skylar’s arms. The close proximity nearly had her pushing away but she knew there was no need. After last night, Skylar making love to her, something seemed to change in her. She didn’t feel all the terrible feelings like she had before. The way he caresses her with such care as if the scars on her body were a part of her, not violently inflicted made her feel like she was more than just some helpless victim. He had breathed her in and kissed her like she was the one and only woman for him. The warmth emitting from Skylar’s body calmed her. The strength behind his snug hold made her feel small and protected. She never thought she’d know l

Chapter 28
Chapter 28 Skylar bubbled inside hearing the proclamation of her words in front of him. He didn’t know how she was going to react to Taylor jumping on her. He honestly thought she’d chuck her across the room and have a panic attack. Something so sudden like what Taylor just did would normally send Cheyenne completely backwards. Yet, here she was kneeling in front of the small child, telling her she decided to stay with him. She was staying. “Breakfast is ready, guys. At the table.” Nadia called over her shoulder. What really took Skylar by surprise was when Cheyenne gently, yet firmly gripped Taylor by her underarms and hoisted her up against her. Taylor giggled and held on to her. Skylar was beyond shocked but also pl

chapter 29
Chapter 29 Cheyenne scrubbed at the plates with hot water and brightly colored dish soap. After getting most of the food off, she chucked them into the dishwasher. Neither Skylar or Chaskai had come back yet so she decided to go ahead and just clean the whole darn kitchen. After putting the left over breakfast foods into reusable boxes and placing them in the fridge, she began to wipe down each table and counter top. Once she finished wiping the table and counter tops off, she continued to keep herself busy by sweeping the floor. It took her a while to actually find the damn broom, which was hanging on the door of the basement, right next to the dust pan. She swept the corners of the kitchen and under the table, pulling all the crumbs from their crevices and swept them into the dust pan, discarding

Chapter 30
Chapter 30 As Skylar drove back on to the main roads, Cheyenne was ranting in the passenger seat. “. . .Why wouldn’t you let me say goodbye? Why’d you give her the impression we were coming back? I thought Chaskai said that I couldn’t see her anymore. Skylar, answer me.” “I couldn’t let you.” Skylar said, simply. “Why not? I thought it was for the best, Sky!” “It is!” Skylar snapped. Sighing and recollecting his thoughts, he explained. “It was better if you left all the connections to this life behind, yes. But I couldn’t let you do it.” Cheyenne waited for him to continue. “I saw the way you looked at each other when w
