Chapter 61: Sleepover
Meredith left Macy’s. She walked out onto State street and began walking down the street sipped her coffee. She had grabbed a vanilla latte on her way out of the store. She had just finished shopping for her outfit for the next day. She had spent $377.98 on it and sighed before handing her bank card to the clerk.  Meredith had no bills to pay now that she was married to Brayden and lived in his house. Her rent, utilities, even her phone bill were no more. Brayden insisted on paying for her phone and having her migrate her number to his plan. She didn’t have to budget money for food really; she just paid for the lunches she and Taylor had during work but Estrella kept the condo well stocked and Meredith never was in need of anything. But even with all that in mind Meredith had hesitated when the clerk read the total amount. The clerk had looked at Meredit

Chapter 62: Meredith faces Brayden
[Authors Note: I apologize for the late chapter. I did not want to continue the story without you having the chapters leading up to this one. If you haven't read the updated chapters 58-61 I suggest you go back and read them before reading this chapter.] Meredith woke up with a jolt to her phone alarm. She blinked a few times looking at the time on her phone then looked around the room in complete confusion. There was no one in the bed with her, which was normal; Brayden usually woke up before her. But she was in what looked to be a woman’s bedroom, definitely not her billionaire husband’s bedroom. Meredith blinked a few more times and her yesterday began to flood to the front of her memory. She remembered how she snuck out and played hooky. She thought of herself as a bit of a rebel for that. She realized she was at her best friend, Taylor’s apartment in Wic

Thank you for your patience and for your support. :)]     The elevator alerted Meredith that they had reached the Lobby floor as it binged and opened up. She still was resting her head on Brayden’s shoulder as people poured out of the elevator in a rush to head to lunch and some who were done for the week, which included her.  Brayden let go of her hand and with his hand at the small of her back he guided her out of the elevator. They walked quickly throug

Chapter 64: Confrontation
Meredith was just finishing up one of her projects when Dino walked in and rubbed against her leg. “Hey there, buddy,” Meredith smiled down at him then picked him up and placed him on her lap. “Come to check on me, have you?” Dino purred and offered a meow as he sat on Meredith’s lap looking up at her.  “Well I was just finishing up. Let’s go get you a treat.” Meredith closed up the applications she was using and put her computer to sleep before setting Dino down on the floor and leading him out of the room to his own personal haven just down the hall. She opened her Standing Wardrobe and pulled out a small plastic jar of treats. Dino began purring furiously and rubbed and head butted Meredith’s leg in anticipation for his treats. Meredith took a few treats out and placed them on the floor in front of Dino.

Chapter 65: An Awkward Dinner
As Meredith walked down the hall towards the sound of the timer she closed up her robe and cinched it tightly around her waist. She didn’t want it to slip open again and didn’t have time to put something else on for fear the dinner Estrella had worked hard on would be destroyed. As she was tying her robe closed, Meredith realized she was wearing the see-through lace robe that left nothing to the imagination. She sighed and made a mental note to make quick work of the dinner before promptly putting something that actually covered her up on.Meredith turned the corner into the kitchen and walked around the counter to the oven only to find Brayden bent over picking up a pot holder that must have fallen. Meredith was slightly taken aback at the sight of Brayden although she really hadn’t thought about where he had gone after leaving her in the office.

Chapter 66: Wrapped Up
Meredith woke up on a cold hard floor. She blinked her eyes into focus as she sat up. She looked around and saw that she was in a large ballroom. The floor was in a black and white swirl pattern that seemed to meet just beneath where she was sitting. Meredith twisted and turned slowly in a sleepy haze trying to understand where she was.She was alone in a fairly empty room. The only thing she could see that was in the room was a small glass table a few feet away from where she sat. Slowly she lifted herself up off the floor and stood in the center of the room as she turned around twisting again as though from this angle she might be able to locate someone or some sort of clue. It was useless. All was the same as before.Meredith looked down and saw that she was wearing the red dress that Edward had sent her. She felt the cold floor against her bare feet as a ch

Chapter 67: Promises
Meredith was shaken awake. She blinked a few times wondering what was going on. She remembered waking up earlier. What was she doing? She looked up and saw Brayden fully dressed in a t-shirt and a pair of board shorts. As soon as she looked into his eyes she remembered her naked body being pressed against his bare chest. She willed herself not to turn red and yawned big. She hadn’t remembered falling asleep again but it sure felt good to lie in that oversized comfy bed. Brayden was still standing there staring at her, waiting for something.“What?” Meredith said through another yawn.“We’re going canoeing today.” Brayden reminded her.“Oh…” Meredith had completely forgotten about that. She wasn’t sure if she wa

Chapter 68: A Date in the Sunlight
Meredith was still dizzy from the kiss and wasn’t paying attention as Brayden tugged her along. Her eyes were glossed over and her mind was swooning. She was at a loss for words. A loss for thoughts. Everything around her looked like it was in a glorious cloud and she felt light as a feather. She kept thinking she saw little white bunnies looking up at her as though they wanted her to follow as she let Brayden lead her by the hand to wherever their destination was. The bunnies looked like they wanted her to follow.“Greta!” Meredith snapped out of it and looked up at Brayden. “I called your name about six times. Where were you just now.” Brayden was looking at her with concern.“Sorry I was just...a little light-headed that’s all” Meredith gave Brayden a slight smile and when he didn’t look convinced she add

Chapter 69: Dinner and a Movie
The sun was dipping behind the buildings. It painted the sky to distract from it’s retreat. As the sun made it’s escape the wind decided to crawl up Meredith’s arm. The hairs on her arm immediately stood up accompanied with little goosebumps. She shivered unconsciously and began to rub her arms with her hands to try to warm them up.    It wasn’t a particularly cold night but the windy city had decided to add some drama to the night and Meredith was wearing running shorts and a thin t-shirt. But they had finished their kayaking trip so Meredith figured she could bear the little chill until they got home.    Brayden glanced down at her and reached out his hand for her to grab. He saw her almost unnoticeable shiver and pulled her al

Chapter 70: Movie Mood
Meredith and Brayden were sitting at the bar in the dimly lit luxury bowling alley. There were couches set up with tables in front of the scattered in the center of the room. At the other wall was another bar that led into the back of the place where the bowling was taking place. The atmosphere was very chic and intimate. “Long Island?” Meredith raised an eyebrow at Brayden after setting her half emptied glass back down on her coaster.“Hmm?” Brayden was sipping an amaretto sour as he glanced towards Meredith.“I’ve never seen you order anything other than wine when we go out.” Meredith took another long sip of her beverage before continuing. “Even when we are at home we only have wine with dinner.”Brayden set
