Inferiority complex is not born in a day,It takes years for it to make it a belief.Thousand words of disgrace and hundreds of hours of crying it takes. So next time you go around joking make sure you are not placing another brick on someone else's wall of inferiority"..................................She felt out of place but there was just one thing that made her feel at home. The serenity in those grey eyes.Jake like a good friend didn't leave her alone. She was ordered to hold onto the back of his t-shirt and not get lost.Like an obedient little child feared to get lost in the fair, she kept on holding onto him tightly.Faces, one after the other kept on greeting her and she politely replied."You are quite a famous face around here huh?"She asked him and he just smiled in return. But then her eyes met with another p

Her short dress was making her slender legs look longer and he couldn't help admire her back view. She finally reached their room with him at her trail. His eyes fell on the blood on her knuckles and he cursed in his mind at his wife's violent behaviour. He sent his bodyguard's to protect her only to know later that the guy she started punching needed protection from her instead. This girl was full of surprise and he since childhood hated surprises.Without even bothering to clean her hands or change her dress she just laid down on the duvet and closed her eyes.He gently wiped a wet cloth over her knuckles to see redness on her skin.As his fingers traced her knuckles she moved in her sleep making him suddenly move back from her.He decided to leave when her voice stopped him."You care.....you care then why do you say you don't?"He was shocked to even move a muscle. As her brown eyes stared into his for trut

The veil of secrets

A very short chapter but it is going to rotate the story to its 180°.Sit tight and please don't fall down from your seats.Enjoy folks!...............................................You think I am a good man if only you knew my past,If only you knew what all sins I have made and which all families I have destroyed. When I can't look at myself and say I love myself, then how can you smile at me and say you love me?"....................................................Every person has some secrets. Some not so important and some life-destroying.Every friend keeps a secret if not then no one would trust friendship again.Behind every face you see and every word you hear are secrets meant to be kept. Some for good, some for bad.But again they are called secrets because they a

"Hatred is the only thing I can afford to see in your eyes for me.For I was surviving on necessity and your love for me was an unaffordable luxury."....................................................Her gloved palms were placed on the golden retriever's chest. The heartbeat was there but a few beats slower.Without wasting a second she had injected the 10-year-old with the required medicine. The dog owner was looking at her with desperate pleading eyes and Elle knew how she felt.Tears were leaking down the dog's eyes and she could see how much it was suffering.Patting its head gently she just hoped it could survive this.Jake stood back with another dose of medicine in his hand and a nod from her side made him inject it."Will....my Sammy be fine?"The owner asked Elle with her eyes still fixed on her 10-year-old co

The next day Ashton was going to the office when Elle returned. She had bags under her eyes and her mood seemed off.Without even acknowledging him she moved to the kitchen pouring herself a glass of water. He stared at her weirdly when he saw her sobbing all of a sudden.Did he do something unintentionally? He questioned himself but came out with nothing. She kept sobbing and drinking water in between and what he feared happened. She started coughing and he was next to her in an instant.Pulling the glass of water from her hands he made small circles on her back. Her breathing came back to normal as she stared at him with big fat tears leaking from her eyes."For god's sake are you trying to choke yourself to death!! Who the hell does that! You either cry or you drink...you don't do them together!"His words made her cry harder and he pulled his hair in frustration."Why are you so damn irritating wo

She looked back up to stare into her husband's cold eyes.He looked mad at her for not following such a simple order. But it was not that easy you see. Before she could even hold his coat and stick to him, others have already stuck to him like bees sticking on honey. This was his personal elevator which she had not noticed the last time she came here.Looking around she found everything to be gold with a mirror at the ceiling."These people are crazy!! Now I know who inflated this big balloon of ego you carry along!"Not bothering of replying her he kept checked the emails on his phone."Who puts a mirror there?"She said pointing to the top of the elevator.Ashton did not even bother to see where this 'there' of hers was."I mean the architect who designed this building was stupid or what? Glass mirror on the ceiling when they should b

You may be able to fool others. To make them believe your hollow laughs and fake smiles,But you can't fool the likes of meA person like me who has mastered the art to talk more with eyes and less with words................................................The silence of an empty office welcomed Elle as Ashton was gone leaving her alone. Her thoughts preoccupied with what has just happened between the two.She could hear her heart thumping in her chest wildly. Her line of thought was broken when she saw Jake calling.Moving towards the washroom she answered in a cheerful voice"Hey, sassy boy! What's up!""Sassy boy? Well that's new!"They both laughed trying to make each other cheerful."How is your mother?""She fell down the stairs and sp

"Can I hug you, Elle?"Elle looked up to see how excited Lorena was.She was nearly jumping with excitement and before Elle could reply she was embraced in her arms.Elle for once felt so wrong about herself. This girl here was everything she didn't think she would be.A throat was cleared in the background and both broke their hug to see a stunned Ashton standing there. His eyes for once looked genuinely surprised."Ash you are back!! I met Elle again today...she is such a sweet girl!"Ashton internally laughed at her statement.Sweet and this girl. She was anything but sweet."I think you forgot your last encounter with her I guess?"He said smirking while placing the files on his table.Elle stomped her foot as Ashton took a hidden glance at her.She gave him exactly the reaction he wanted."Oh that...it was just a bad start... anyways tomorrow Elle is coming to my place and we both are h

A girl said to another with dislike on her face"I don't like your nose,I don't like your eyes,And I especially hate the shape of your lips"The other girl smiled and replied"I thank God that at least I can breathe through this nose, see with these eyes and smile with these lips for even these are a luxury for some people in this world.".............................................He sighed in frustration waiting for her arrival.6:10Was the time Lori told him to fetch her from her house. And it was 40 minutes passed that time already. He was waiting in the parking lot checking his watch, again and again, to only get more frustrated.Lori was usually a very punctual person but today something felt off.She just randomly asked him to come and now s

They sat inside a five-star French restaurant with waiters giving them special treatment. After all who doesn't know who Ashton Lockwood was and what he did.Her eyes were scanning the menu card to only decipher the pictures. The French names went over her head just like the language itself did.Unknown to her as her eyes were scanning the card his eyes were scanning her.In the candlelights, those eyes looked like they were dancing and her lips were opening and closing trying to pronounce the French words in the menu.He felt his junior going out of control and he cursed in his mind.He tried to look down to avoid her face to only make his eyes land on her cleavage. She felt his behaviour to be a bit weird. Not that he was normal usually but today he seemed more abnormal than normal. She followed his gaze and found it extremely uncomfortable.Pulling up the menu card she blocked his view of her cleavage."D
