Chapter 91
Samantha Point of view  I took the time to tell him the whole plan. About the spell that was going to happen in three days. Before the spell, I asked Rai to kill him and dad. I would fake my death because I was still needed for the spell. "Once I have done my part of the spell and when mom finally finds me, Rai will take my life. Hopefully, that will be enough to force Mom to help us."  "How sure are you that she would still trust Rai after killing you?" he questioned. "She would think it would be a trap." "She knows that I trust the spell would work." "A spell that has never been done before," he reminded.  "An opportunity is what I see and Mom will see it too." I see Xavier shaking his head. "She will realize that the only possible way to get us back is if she does the spell. The time to do the spell is limited so she would be pressured to go through it."  "And dad?" he mentioned. I paused. I have

Chapter 92
Samantha Point of viewThe umbrella was too small to fit us both. The sides of our shoulders were getting soaked as we made our way back home. When we arrived, dad was already there with mom. I hesitated to come closer. Especially when mom was right there. Did she tell dad?The night went by. Mom was ignoring me, Xavier tried his best to act as nothing happened and Dad seemed like he knew nothing. I glanced at mom time to time but continued to ignore me throughout dinner. It was a reaction I was expecting but I was still wondering why she has not told dad? We finished dinner. Mom said she wasn't feeling well so she went to bed early. I stayed behind to do the dishes while Xavier helped out with the laundry. As I was washing, I hear dad coming in. I thought he would tell me that he knew but instead, he asked what was going on with me and mom."We had a disagreement about something," I answered while looking down at my bubbly hands on

Chapter 93
Samantha Point of view  Waiting under the pouring rain with an umbrella over my head. My eyes stayed glued to the door as my hand clenched the handle of the umbrella. The rain doesn't seem to stop. As moments passed by, it poured even harder with lightning striking every 5 minutes.  I didn't even pay attention nor did I flinch at the loud thunderclap sound echoing the sky. Instead, it served as a reminder for me to breathe. I seem to forget to do that whenever I'm waiting anxiously for Rai to come out. Eventually, he does. I took a second to take in his appearance. There were no signs of struggler or blood on him. Anyone would think that he hasn't done the kill yet but judging the way he does not look right at me was a sign that he did. That he killed my brother and my father. Rai walks into the rain and towards me. I wante

Chapter 94
Samantha Point of view  Lena was the one who forced Tera to come over and start discussing the spell with me. She was reluctant at first but she came moments later. The things she took out of her bag were a pile of papers with a bunch of writings and pictures. She explained that these were the chants and instructions we needed to know before the spell. She also explained to me that the materials were also needed and were nothing to worry about since she was going to handle them herself. The parts of the keepers were to simply chant and offer blood.  She went over the chants and taught me how to pronounce them all since this was not in English. Since it was an old spell, it was expected it would be in an ancient language. I was shocked since only a few people knew how to read them. Seeing how Tera was so fluent made me curious about her life since she looked young to learn this. No wonder Rai chose her to help him with the sp

Chapter 95
Samantha Point of view  Rai came back with some food but I didn't eat much. I didn't feel like eating at all tonight. I felt sick to my stomach, to be honest. It was like a huge negative void inside of me that won't go away.   As we ate, we went through what we were going to do tomorrow. Lena and Tera did most of the talking while Rai only said one sentence when Tera asked about the 3rd keeper, "She'll be there tomorrow."  I looked down at the meal that I barely touched. I realize that they really have no idea who the keeper was or how we were going to have one by tomorrow. They don't know the story. Rai didn't tell them. Maybe to keep them on board with the plan or to keep the others from thinking of what a horrible person I am for suggesting the idea. I sighed.  After everyone was done with their meals, we prepared for bed. Rai was sleeping in another room while the girls and I would sleep in the room we cur

Chapter 96
Samantha Point of view The moment when we woke up till the moment we arrived in the forest went by so quickly. We had to act fast because Lena's powers as a keeper would expire any day now. Rai picked the forest nearest to my house so he could lure in mom while we do part of the spell ourselves.  Rai dropped Tera's bag full of the things we needed for the spell. Tera quickly went through them and gave some stuff to Lena. Lena grabbed the papers and bowls and set them on the ground. Tera also pulls out a piece of jewelry that we would use to combine our powers for the spell.  The girls were busy while I on the other hand dozed off after taking the herbs out of Rai's bag. After I placed the herbs on the bowl, I unconsciously stared at it for the longest time. I finally snapped out of it when I felt a hand on my back. I turned around and saw Rai behind me. He asked me if I was okay to which I replied, "Of course." Rai looked li

Chapter 97
Samantha Point of View "This is stupid," Tera finally said after breaking her cycle of repeating one word. Lena was in deep thought as she was sitting on a tall boulder next to our stuff. Tera comes at me and reasoned, "I'm sure your mom will want to bring your family back. As you said, your dad and brother died yesterday, right?" For that, I kept my mouth shut. I looked down for a while, in fear that they might see a guilty look on my face. "What kind of person would not want her family back?"  "An obligated keeper," I answered. When I feel like I erased the guilty look on my face, I raised my head up and saw Tera thinking. Her arms were crossed as she shifted her weight to her left then to her right. Tera then shakes her head at me. "How are we going to do the spell if you are dead?" She asked but not out of curiosity.  "You only need me to do my part of the spell. You don't need me alive at the end of it." Tera looks down

Chapter 98
Samantha Point of view  It wasn't a good morning to wake up to. We knew that the moment we left the guest house we all slept in. The sky was covered in grey clouds and there was barely any light that shined at the moment. The weather wasn't going to improve any time soon either but there was no way that we would stop from performing the spell.  The cold wind blew at us as we finally finished the first stage which was Preparation. The candles were lit and securely in place. We made sure that even if the wind would blow harder the candles would stay upright. We didn't need to worry about the fire going out either. If we do the spell right, the fire will stay lit.  Tera was standing right in the middle of those 9 candles while Lena and I stood right outside the circle. Tera took out the containers of a bunch of herbs that she ground last night. She took a nervous breath and looks at both of us. "Let's start now." We both n

Chapter 99
Samantha Point of view I stared at Tera in full terror. Her face and the skin of her body began to darken. Her neck was still stretched from the sudden complete rotation of her head. She repeatedly recited the whole spell, including the newly added sentence at the last part.            I looked at everything that was going on. The fire was getting hotter and harder to stay close to. I tried to push forward but I felt my feet stuck in place. At first, I thought it was due to my fear of what happening in front of me but once I looked down, I saw that the ground wasn't solid anymore. It was like a quicksand. Gravity was pushing me into the ground slowly. As I tried to move out of its grip, I notice Tera looking at me. Her pitch-black eyes stared into mine. I see that her hands were already raised towards the ground. She was making the ground hold on to me so I wouldn't try to move. I looked at her, trying to

Samantha Point of view "You can't be serious." Lena stood beside me with her arms crossed in front of her. Her eyes glances at the demon everyone in a while as we talked."We don't have a choice," I said. I peeked to look at the demon but she was busy restoring the herb to its original state in the bowl. She slowly starting to fix everything that she caused since her appearance in Tera's body. The ground was solid and the grass came back to life. Even the flames lessened and turned back to red flames.I quickly turn back to Lena and whispered to her, "Trust me, If we don't accept her offer then we are as good as dead." Lena didn't reply but she knew that it was true. "I'll think of a plan along the way." "You are forgetting that we need to give something in return for her service," Lena whispers back. She peeks at Tera and we see her chanting over the bowl. Could be something to help the spell to work. "I don't know. I don't f
