“Mr. Jorge is such a ninny.” It was Zoe who spoke. She was sitting on Charlie’s bed with her legs crossed, and a historical romance book was resting in the middle of her crossed legs. Charlie was on her chair eating some cookies she snagged from the shop that opened on the school premises during school hours. “Not much of a ninny as a pussy,” she said between bites of chocolate chip cookies. “I bet the reason he didn’t punish Tyler and Heather was that he feared Tyler would run off to tell his father like the little bitch he is and then Mr. Maximilian Edwin would fire Mr. Jorge and makes sure he never finds any job anywhere again. I can’t say I blame him, I won’t want to be in his position.” “And you’re forgetting the fact that Jess’s father controls Mr. Edwin’s branch here,” Zoe said with a half-smile. Charlie winked at me. “Feels good to be friends with you Jess, I can always blame you whenever I find myself in deep shit knowing that Mr. Jorge won’t be able to do anything without

By break the next day I was walking down the halls of the junior students' area with Annabel Reed and Jake Newman to what they called the “Newspaper Office.” It was Friday and my Fridays are pretty uneventful. I had an English class in the morning then a free period then a cooking class and then another free period while Charlie marched off to the Woodwork class. She’s pretty handy and she’s good at construction. I’m not one for all that so I chose cooking class instead and finished two hours ahead of Charlie. Just as I was thinking of what to do with my life Annabel marched into my class and wiggled her fingers at me. No one says no to the head girl so I followed her to Jake’s class where she wiggled her fingers at him too and announced that we would be having a committee meeting that morning. So we walked together to the newsroom where she said the other members of the committee were waiting. I had expected a room with cramped space and equipment taking every free space in it, a se

Helen’s car was so light and smooth on the road that it felt as though we were flying not driving. It’s amazing what money can do in this world of ours. The security men at the gate didn’t even stop us as I drove up to the gate, they merely raised their hands in greeting to Helen who smiled at them as we drove past. I made a comment about this to her and she laughed and shrugged. “As that saying goes, everyone has a price.” She placed her hand on her chin and thought for a minute. “Actually I think that saying is rather cruel because Jack and Rick, the security men, probably have families to take care of so when I offered them the money as a bribe to let us out they accepted because they would do anything for their families.” I found myself looking at her from the side of my eyes in a new light. She was nothing like the other massively rich kids in school, nothing like Tyler, Heather, and Christian that’s for sure! She was passionate too. I smiled. Since my move here I’ve made really

“I swear you have the smile of a cat in cream.” I turned slightly to look at Charlie from where I was stuffing my books in my bag. She was narrowing her eyes at me with her arms crossed. “I swear I know you are up to something. You’ve had this really mischievous smile on your face since yesterday and I know you’re up to no good. Come on, spit it out. Tell Mama what you’re up to.” I rolled my eyes at her partly because of her referring to herself as Mama and partly because she was just too observant for her own good. Of course, I was up to something and yes I was up to no good. I raised my hands in surrender. “Yes, you got me I am up to no good. And that’s because I have been pressured to go back to being the bad girl.” She squealed. “No way! You’re really going to finally get back at the Bad Boys Club for humiliating you?” I nodded. She covered the space between us and hugged me while screaming loud enough to burst my eardrums. “Yes! Now we can have some drama liven this place u

I leaned into the kiss like my life depended on it. Who knew that Christian could kiss so well? Okay, maybe I did since I’ve been eyeing his lips for weeks and hating Heather because she got to kiss him while I got nothing. But his kiss was so much better than what I had imagined. The way his lips locked with mine was perfect, his soft lips seemed to shape mine in a way that made my knees melt. I opened my mouth at his nudging and sighed as he slipped his tongue past my lips. Before I knew it I was throwing my arms around his neck, drawing him closer for more. I could only barely feel the full pain of the ceramic washbasin behind my back as Christian pushed me against it, I was too busy savoring one kiss after another. Christian’s hands slipped from my waist, one of his hands outlined the shape of my ass while the other slid up my back until he was crushing my chest against his. I didn’t mind the pressure though since I wanted this as much as he did. The way he kissed me made me thin
