Waking up in the morning from the alarm clock on the phone, for a long time I could not understand where I had been brought at all. Some kind of apartment with worn walls, furniture - a creaky sofa and a bedside table that stood nearby. Rising to my feet, I accidentally knocked over an empty bottle on the floor. It should have been so drunk yesterday ... He quickly felt his pockets, a wallet with cards in place, a phone and documents too.“Oh, woke up,” a girl in only her underwear entered the room. By the way, not cheap underwear, which means not a prostitute. “The shower is right down the hallway,” she added, lighting a cigarette.“Uh-huh,” was the only thing I could answer. How the head was cracking. Well, that’s right, I didn’t get so drunk for a year, and Mikhail and Korotkov were taken out. While walking to the shower with slow steps, I tried to remember how I got here. After we dealt with the master of the vampires, I ran away from Mikhail. No, I certainly could have stuffed hi

As we walked to the collection room, I seemed to calm down. Emotions subsided over chatter with partners. Everyone packed their essentials into their backpacks. And each of them was different, for example, Bars - medicines. Although it is logical, he is a doctor. Someone had a weapon, like me. Yes, we now had Kisa with her huge list of all kinds of guns. But somehow I got used to relying on myself. And yes, there is little that could have happened. They will separate us to different points, and then what? If I took mainly a pistol and a rifle with cartridges, then the Bear packed grenades and other explosive supplies. But Fox surprised me with the variety of the number of all kinds of knives he took, from a penknife to a dagger. Apparently I don't know him that well. But Kitty didn’t take anything other than provisions, well, yes, she always has everything at hand thanks to spatial magic. By the way, I still do not understand who her beast is. Of course, that the girl had an animal e

The iron gates of the unit closed behind the bus as soon as we were on the other side. Then we were dropped off, near the main entrance to the headquarters, at the door of which the pilot of our helicopter was already waiting.- Hello! he shouted, saluting our company, stretching out to attention.- At ease, - the Bear stepped forward of us. “Long time no see,” he extended his hand in greeting. The guy smiled embarrassedly, which made me think about their acquaintance and not at all as colleagues. Some of our giggles, and Kisa just rolled her eyes, watching the exchange of glances.“The helicopter is ready,” the pilot said, pointing in the direction where we had to go.We don't even have lunch? - Fox joked, squinting mockingly in response.“I was only ordered to take you to your destination,” the guy was confused, looking at the Bear.“Yes, he’s joking,” the Bear stood up for the pilot, threatening the Fox with his fist. - He's our joker.“So young,” the pilot muttered under his breat

can throw an invisibility barrier for two,” the Fox suggested, glancing in my direction without resolutely. “We can sneak in and find out what it is.”“Go with Bars,” I commanded. Yes, I could have gone with the Fox, but since he didn't trust me, why should I trust him? No, I did not think that he could betray or something like that, he was just mischievous. Bars himself was surprised at my choice.“You are the most secretive in our detachment,” I calmly answered his silent question. They agreed and disappeared as if they had put on a cap of invisibility. Damn, now sit and wait. Worry about this juvenile blockhead. Shots rang out in the cave. I showed off, making myself an offended person ...I instantly jumped into the cave in the form of a wolf, completely ignoring the guards. Kitty will be able to deal with her, I had no doubt. Only once inside the cave, I heard the wild roar of the animal. What happened there? Having reached the center of the cave, I saw the wounded Leopard in hi

“Say that you are from the zero department,” Pasha’s voice sounded in my head."I'm from Section Zero," I quickly repeated his words.Pictures from the past chemist clearly ran through my head. Pasha's strength was awakened at a lecture at the university. He was taken by interrogators, they are bone-breakers. But on the way Korotkov stopped them and took the sensor to our department. Later, he learned to control his strength, and later, Pasha remained to work at the site.As I understand it, bonebreakers are the same organization as we are. But they eliminated people with superpowers if they didn't find a way to take away their power. The process of removal was very dangerous in itself, but if the force did not give in (in most cases, it did), then the person was eliminated in order to secure society. It's easier to get rid of someone than to follow him all his life, in their opinion. Our organization gave different creatures the opportunity to adapt among ordinary people. Yes, we con

“No thanks, I'll take a walk,” I replied to Kise, but a text back from a friend made me change my mind and get into the car.“This woman is a flower girl, but none of us knows where she is now. My friend lives in your city, she is also a flower girl, ask her, ”the message from the sorceress read. There was also an address. And I already knew him. Alyona! I hoped it wasn't too late for a visit... And who were the flower girls?- So where are we going? — asked Kisa, pulling me out of my thoughts. I quickly dictated the address of my recent acquaintance.“Am I learning something new about myself?”— And how did you get into the department? the gunsmith suddenly asked."Korotkov offered the job, and I accepted," I answered laconicly. - And you? I asked more to keep the conversation going than because I was really interested. I was all in my thoughts. But her answer made me look away from them."Korotkov took me away from the bone-breakers," she replied. “I don’t really have anything else

Morning greeted me with the aroma of freshly brewed coffee from the kitchen. Has the Fox already woken up and made us breakfast? But it was not there. Sitting on the bed, I saw Inari sleeping peacefully next to me. Who was in charge of the kitchen then? Hastily put on his trousers and followed the smell.“Good morning,” Pasha greeted me when he saw me. I immediately remembered his sobs at night near Korotkovo.“I thought you were going straight to the department,” I muttered, sitting down at the table. The guy looked rumpled and strange.- Would you like some coffee? he asked, hiding his gaze from me.“No,” I replied with a yawn. - I'm going to sleep, it's too early to get up.“Korotkov and I broke up,” the guy said, stopping me. “What happened yesterday was the last time.” I turned around to face him. You're right, you have to respect yourself.“You understand that this is what he wanted,” I said in a barely audible voice. My guess was not entirely accurate. To understand the differe

The sharp claws of the black wolf dug into my chest, and I lost my balance and fell to the floor, decently kissing my head. Michael's beast was on top of me and only when he saw his own paws in my blood did he transform back. - What are you doing? the man yelled. My ears are stuffed up. Why did you change form? Don't tell the truth? I looked down at the blood on my chest, remembering that I had no regeneration. Damn, this could have left a scar. But better with a scar than under a wolf! It seems that Mikhail himself did not expect that he could seriously injure me. Bars immediately ran up to me, putting his hand to the wound. The cold immediately soothed the pain. “Not fatal,” said the doc, glancing in the direction of my recent opponent. “Our commander is getting old,” I laughed, feeling the adrenaline recede. “He didn’t even break my bones this time.” “Your head should be broken,” he snapped in response, but without that rage. “Who knows, maybe it’s already broken,” I answered

- How are you going to seduce a maniac with such an unattractive face? The youngster chuckled.“I don’t even know,” I supported his cheerful mood.I lost my phone in my trouser pocket. There was a message from Maroun announcing the arrival of a squad car. Well, it was time to get to work. In SMS, the demon also asked about my well-being. It was natural, a dying female would not attract the attention of a maniac. I wrote that there were only scratches that would not interfere with my work. Indeed, only they remained, but to be honest, I myself did not expect. How did Bars treat my wound so that it increased the rate of recovery of my cells?“I have to go to work,” I said, finishing my coffee. — Thank you for breakfast, — kissing his cook on the cheek, he went to put on his shoes in the corridor. “Be good,” he shouted, already leaving the apartment.“Be careful,” Fox smiled, locking the door behind me.And the head of the investigators did a good job. Country cottage on two floors. Alth

“Okay, I still lived in the wrong area and not even close to it. So, it’s unlikely that any of my neighbors visited an expensive restaurant far away from home. ”"So we're going to sit in silence?" I asked Bars when we ordered. I had no idea what to talk to him about.“Our job is to just sit and smile,” he replied in a calm voice. - Communication is not required. In addition, we do not know common topics for conversation. Or am I wrong?“Why, there is one,” I disagreed, quickly thinking about what he could be asked. — For example, I'm curious, how did you get into the department? I came up with at least something in common.“I will not discuss this with a stranger to me,” is the answer I expected to hear. Finally, we got our first meal. Now there was a good reason not to talk to him. What kind of creature he was, after all, clearly not one of the simple ones. I could see manners, good upbringing, in general, everything that I don’t have... If he was from the world of my ancestors, the
