Lahat ng Kabanata ng VASILI, Not A Mafia Boss: Kabanata 31 - Kabanata 40

Silence fell upon the hall as the last death was bestowed."You saw and heard everything. Those who will try scheming another mayhem like this will be dealt with death" Donny, standing from his chair, faces the remaining people. He stares at every frightened eye of the cowering men at the side. "We will never do such a thing, Godfather" everyone declares cautiously. "You can say it today, but tomorrow is another day. Loyalty is not an assurance of peace. However, all of you must understand..." Donny casually counters while his earnest gaze averted at every eye looking at him."...the Petrov will be ready for those who will challenge our power. We will wait for those who dare betray us. The Petrovs will never turn their backs on allies, however, death will be the reward for betrayal" Donny added with a grim warning. Looking at all of them, he smirks upon seeing their fervent nods. "About the real identity of CEO Wright. Until announced, no one has the right to speak on behalf of th

"CEO Wright, two students are requesting to seek an audience for you" one of the secretaries informs after he went back from lunch. Staring at her, he tries to remember who they might be. "They are intern doctors from Nevsky. Caleb Orlov and Cristy Antonov" she added upon seeing him being thoughtful.Hearing the familiar names, his eyes narrow. "Send them in" he casually orders. "Yes, sir" Left alone in silence, his thoughts wandered. It's been a week since the accident happened and as he ordered, no news about the intern doctor was broadcasted. The entire accident was presented to the media as just a mere road accident. No one knew it was otherwise. His thoughts have been wandering around when the door opens. Led by his secretary are Amelia's classmates and close friends."Good day, CEO Wright" both chorused in greeting him. "Good day," casually, he greeted back. He could see their anxiousness but they intrepidly walk to the couch he gestured for them. "What can I do for you

"The news nowadays was filled with different successful operations against illegal drugs and firearms shipments" Mark Saunters speaks in the middle of the luncheon meeting. "Illegal activities as such are becoming more rampant. It's about time it should be stopped. And the police district has been doing a great job. Their campaign is unexpectedly gaining positive results" one of the men around the table responded."But those groups responsible for such illegalities are well protected. What happened these days? Their protector can no longer defend them now?" another one amusingly mutters. Indeed, illegal activities are either held or well protected by high-ranking government officials, especially in the military or organizations like the Mafia. "I was not aware of any change in position among the government or news about withdrawals of support from huge organizations protecting them. They are even doing all their illegal activities in broad daylight. Under the authorities' noses. W

The day Vasili has been waiting for has come. The day Amelia is expected to wake up. Standing at the side with Larry, Vasili stares at Amelia's sleeping face. His chest is seeming to burst from the thundering of his heart. Not understanding what he feels, he constantly massages his nape and inhales deeply. All the other Petrovs are outside waiting. They are giving Vasili the privacy to see his wife wake up after the period of coma. Leaving only Larry to be by his side for whatever outcome. However, they were all prepared. The Petrov and all their men were on guard. Amelia's recovery will determine the fate of the underworld. Once she won't wake up, war will knock on every door of those who took part in the evil plot to eliminate her. Though Vasili has started there are more. "CEO Wright?" the doctor softly asks. All her doctors and medical staff are on standby for the inevitable. "Yes" for the first time, he was insecure and shaky. With the go signal, the doctor administers the re

"Someone is sabotaging us" the man grimly mutters. "Has any of the Petrov been moving against us?" someone from the group suspiciously asks. "If they are not, then who could know of all those transactions? They are the only people who have the capability and they are playing with us""Authorities are on a rampage in seizing all shipments this past week. We are losing millions! This can't go on or all of us will be in the drain!" "Indeed we will all be doomed if the Petrovs has something to do with what's happening lately""We cannot afford another failure. The incoming one is our biggest, it should not be compromised""It won't. The Petrovs won't touch us"" How sure are you?""I just know" a smirk carves the old man's lips."Cornell is here" a man interrupted the discussion before a group of fierce-looking men enters the den."At last, you're here" the old man sharply looks at the newly arrived group. Despite the man's obvious irritation, he didn't respond. He took his seat and
