Lahat ng Kabanata ng Freakn' Shifters: Kabanata 131 - Kabanata 140

I need a life. Or at least sex. Something to quell his ridiculous hard-on. Wandering back to Kendrick, Joel's mind spun, and not because of their mission. A scent, her scent, clung to him. The touch of her skin when he'd grabbed her arm seared his hand. Holy hell, the human's my mate. Or at least that was the most likely reason as to why his wolf took up howling in his head. A mate. A human. A chubby human. A freakn' Amazon of a woman with the waviest blonde hair, the biggest, bright blue eyes, a perfect handful of tits, rounded hips, and a height that wouldn't give him a damned crick in his neck. God, imagining those thick thighs of hers wrapped around him, squeezing ? Joel tripped over a root and went sprawling. His first thought? Shit. I hope she didn't see that. Wait, why do I care what she thinks? The fact he didn't want to appear foolish in front of her meant nothing. Blame that on the whole testosterone deal. No guy wanted to look inept in front of a gir

Waking in the morning from dreams rampant with a glowering Kendrick and a smirking Joel ? in various states of undress ? Ruth crawled from her tent, her hair a tangle of curls, mouth pasty, dry slobber possibly on her chin, and her body much warmer than the climate warranted. Stretching in her tank top and shorts, feet already clad in her boots ? because it only took stepping on something squishy once to cure her of the bare feet she enjoyed usually strutting in ? she noted her companions already busy at work. Everywhere she looked, evidence of their camp disappeared as they packed up. "Thanks for waking me," she muttered, shooting Liam, the closest guy to her, a dark glare. "If it's any consolation, I just woke up too." Yeah right, she thought, eyeing his clean clothes, bright eyes, and combed hair. No one looked that good before seven a.m., not without prep work. Letting her gaze rove again as she sucked back a few gulps of water, Ruth caught Kendrick's eye. H

Best idea ever. Sure, Joel trudged through a jungle ? sweaty, confused, horny, very horny, but he couldn't say he was depressed. Didn't give a damn what his father was up to. Wasn't worried about proving himself better than everyone thought. However, he did have to wonder at his sanity as he mulled over the question of mating with a human. Humans plus wolves equaled extremely bad idea. Or did it? Others mated with humans just fine. Not all of those pairings ended up with a shifter going crazy when their human left. Heck, Kendrick's aunt married a human and they were still going strong forty years later. Could it work for me? The blame for his newfound interest in the question rested squarely on Ruth. Tougher than he'd have credited, she didn't once complain about Kendrick's forced pace. She bore everything with grace ? and killer looks. Literally. If she could have made Kendrick explode with her eyes, they'd be picking up pieces. It shouldn't have made him snick

Kendrick didn't want to feel sorry for Ruth, he really didn't, but dammit all, did she have to look so disappointed, and worse, cry when they didn't find any decent clues as to her sister's whereabouts? It annoyed him that his first urge was to hug and console her. He restrained himself, and meant to ignore her, but he wasn't a complete ass. He could understand how Ruth missed her sister and worried for her safety. If it were his family, he'd have lost his mind. But understanding didn't mean he could let her bow to her sorrow, especially since he didn't see any reason for it yet. While he couldn't explain how he knew, Kendrick read the signs enough to know the kidnapped girls didn't suffer any abuse during their capture. As to after, only time would tell. The council didn't seem to think the girls came to harm, though. Needed help getting out of the jungle, yes, but on their two feet and not in body bags ? a certainty they wouldn't explain when they set him up to go on this missi

Maybe I should have stayed home, Ruth thought, not for the first time as she struggled with the stupid tent. Up in just a few easy steps, her rather large ass! She knew she messed up somewhere along the way, probably when Kendrick walked by carrying a large load of wood like it weighed nothing, his shirt stripped off to show a body that didn't spend a lot of time indoors in front of a television. The man could have modeled those washboard abs in a fitness magazine. Worse, he caught her ogling. Flustered, she ducked her head, but caught in the throes of an arousal she couldn't stop, she kept lifting her eyes to take a peek. Her inattention bore fruit as her hands did something to the unfolding tent, which now mocked her in all its lopsided glory. "Need a hand?" Wandering over, Liam cocked his head at the contraption and she could see he fought to hide a smile. "Am I that obviously inept?" "There's a trick to these things. Don't worry. I didn't do much better my f
