Lahat ng Kabanata ng Shattered Bonds: Kabanata 331 - Kabanata 340

It’s finally happening! Quinn and I are finally being taken seriously as Guardians. It’s not like we haven’t proven our strength on the training field or in sparring matches against our brothers, but no one has ever treated Quinn and I like they’ve treated Leana, Lily, or Emlyn. Even Riley, Emlyn’s younger sister is seen as more of a Guardian than we are. Heck, even our younger sister Reagan is seen as more of a Guardian, and she’s three years younger than we are.But when our mother called Quinn and I to Rich’s office to tell us that a war is coming that that we were going to be stationed in the other packs to help with their defense, all of that changed. I’m being assigned to Canyon Ridge Pack with Alpha Cohen and Quinn has been assigned to Safe Haven pack with Alpha Emerson.I can feel her excitement at being assigned to Safe Haven. Quinn has had a crush on the stuffy Alpha for years. For me, I’ve always thought that Cohen was the most attractive of all the new Alphas. And unlike E

My first evening in Canyon Ridge pack has been a bit overwhelming. I found out that I’m mated to Cohen, realized that basically everyone but me already knew that, was asked to be Cohen’s acting Luna until I can take on the role permanently when I turn 18, and then found out that Emlyn is planning to return to Shadow Falls with Rich. That means I only have a couple of days to learn everything I need to learn about being a Luna before Emlyn leaves.I’ve been in this pack many times over the years, but I’ve never learned all of the pack members’ names. They all know my name, of course, and they’ve started calling me Luna, which is also a bit overwhelming.Add to all of that, I had my first kiss. It was the everything that I have dreamed it would be and so much more. Cohen’s lips were warm, and his taste was like chocolate melting on my tongue. As soon as I get back to my room, I call Quinn. She answers on the first ring.“Oh my goddess, Malin, you have no idea what’s happened to me today

Overwhelmed. That’s how I feel. Completely and totally overwhelmed. I don’t know how Emlyn does it. I’ve been listening to her all morning, watching while she makes the job of Luna look easy. How does she know how Rich, Emerson, and Cohen like their sandwiches? Even I didn't know that my mate prefers speared pickles on the side to pickle chips on his sandwich. How did she know? And it’s like it’s an afterthought for her, like ‘oh yes, don’t forget…’ Don’t forget?? You have to know something first before you can forget it! By the time Cohen’s meeting is done, I’m wondering if he is going to change his mind about me being his acting Luna. If I were him, I would try to keep Emlyn. “You’re going to be great,” Emlyn says as she walks out of the kitchen. She puts her hand on my shoulder and I’m not sure what she sees on my face, but she stops and pulls me into a hug. “I promise. It’s not easy, especially when you haven’t done it before. But once you find your way, it will get easier.”

I’ve been naked before, just not usually in front of males, and definitely not in front of Alphas. My father and brothers would never allow it. My mouth went dry as I stood naked in front of Cohen, watching his glacier blue eyes darken as he looked over my body while we stood outside the shower. “Do you like what you see?” I ask boldly. “No. I love it,” he says, making me blush. “I am a lucky man,” he says, reaching out to stroke my hair, still full of flowers. “Beautiful innocence with a body that could make the angels weep with jealousy. And you’re all mine,” he says, his voice taking on a possessive tone I’ve never heard from him before. I’ve heard it plenty of times with my father, and even with Rich, but never from Cohen. “Do we need to do something with these flowers before we get into the shower?” he asks, his fingers stroking over my breasts like he did last night, making my body hum. “No, Holly said they would wash out when I showered.” I move to step into the shower, b

It’s been a couple of days since my Luna ceremony. Emlyn has been great and because we know a war is coming, we started doing safety drills. Safety drills are important because, in a pack like this, everyone needs to know where they’re supposed to go when the howls of alarm go up. We don’t want pack members running around, trying to find a safe room with space and we especially don’t want to leave pups out of the safe rooms, or separate them from their families during a time of crisis. Emlyn and I had looked over Cohen’s roster of pack members, making sure we had an accurate number and then we had assigned rooms to each member who is currently pregnant, has young pups, omegas who aren’t strong enough to fight, or those who are too old to fight. Some of the grandparents of young pups agree to look after them and take the place of young mothers who still want to fight. Once we have the list, we check the safe rooms, see how many they can hold and start assigning those rooms to the pack
