Mistress

Who knew that being a leader can be so liberating? It was so much better than when I was under the town leader. Though I missed them, I can't deny that it was good to have people at your beck and call all the time of the day. I sat on my chair and watched the men go about their work. After I killed the leader of the dark clays, I became their header, and I changed the name to Dark Stars. Though the name didn't please the men who were proud of their old names, none of them tried to challenge me when I changed the names.I'm their leader, no one challenges me. “Mistress.” One of the men came over to the tree I was sitting under. He bowed to me, and placed both hands in front of him, like a plea. It took a lot of getting used to before I finally learned most of the ways of the group. They were unlike the village I came from, and the place I escaped from. “What's wrong?” I crossed my right leg over my left, and placed a hand under my chin, with my entire focus on him. “The trees

Finally found you

“Mistress!” One of the men knocked on my door, waking me up from a much-needed sleep. It wasn't every night that I had the pleasure of sleeping as I did just now. “What is it?” I hastily rose from my bed and started getting dressed. It has become a habit of mine, to always be ready, irrespective of the reason and time.“The blood drainers are almost upon us.” His words caused me to freeze.“What did you just say?” “The blood drainers are almost upon us.” He repeated. “Though they are far off, we need—” “Wake the others! Get out weapons ready!” I instructed him. “I will meet you out there!” “Yes, mistress.” The man left, and I heard him calling the others. “He's here.” My heart seemed to lurch out of my chest at the thoughts of the man who wiped my clan.Though I know I will one day meet him in battle, I never counted on it being this near.I thought I had more time to train my men before we faced them off in battle, but it seemed he found me first. The sounds of my men getting

Held against her will

Despite the strong hold he had on me, I tried to fight him off, but it was impossible."Let me go!" I tried to fight his hold off me, but it was too strong. It was as if I'm a child trying to fight off the father. "I'm sorry, human, but I can't let you go. Leaving you isn't an option, so you will endure going with me.""I'm not going anywhere! Let me go!" He carried me up despite my thrashing. It was as if I weigh nothing. And that seemed to piss me off some more. I was being held suspended above the ground, and I kicked furiously.I know I won't be able to get him to release me, but I have to try to get him to leave me.If I can get him to let me go, then I can show him I'm capable of fighting off any man that tried to hurt me. If I can lead a group of wild men, then I can fight him off. My heel struck something behind me; there was a hard grunt from above my head before strong hands gripped my ankles and held them together, immobilizing me."It will be better if you don't fight

You are mine

That heartless bastard didn't return that night despite how many times I called him. He turned a deaf ear to my calls. It was as if he wanted to punish me for running away.I slept off in the early hours of the morning, and only managed to get a few hours of sleep before I was woken up. "Good morning," smiling to himself, he came into the room. The smug expression on his face made me ache to slap him, to get him to know that I wasn't joking at all. "Let me go." I tug on the ropes that were holding me captive. "You can't keep me here just because you want to. Let me go!" I tugged on the ropes despite how tired I was. My hands felt sore and heavy. And that was what prevented me from tugging on it as much as I would have loved to.If only I have that strength, I would have shown him what I'm capable of. "You are dirty," He smirked, ignoring my words. "Have you thought of having a bath?" he pursed his lips, looking so damned pleased with himself. "Let me go, and we will talk of tha

He's not the villain

I lost count of the days I stayed here. Most times, it seemed as if I'd only stayed here for two days, and other times, it feels like I'd stayed here for a month. The room he took me to had no light. The windows were barred, and the curtains were drawn. Aside from the maids who occasionally come in to feed and help me bathe, I've not seen any other person.Well, that's when you exclude that beast of a man. My back aches and my legs feel so sore, I can't feel it any more. But that beast won't hear! He's always going at it like an animal. And that made me wonder if he was sex deprived. He acts as if he has never been allowed an intimate moment before.“I hate him.” I gritted out in anger as I splashed the water, not paying attention to the maid behind me. “If only I had an axe, I will plunge it so deep into his chest that he won't be able to reincarnate.”I said those words out loud, so the maid can hear them, and relay to the beast, what I said. This was precisely what I said last

I'm not a human

“What's it?” He arched a brow. “Are you finally going to ask about your men? You are no longer afraid to know what their fate became?” He smirked. I narrowed my eyes at him. “Tell me, who killed my parents? Who was the one that wiped out my entire village?”“Didn't you claim that I was the one?” He furrowed his brows. “Don't tell me you have changed your mind?”“Answer me. Who was the one that did it? Were you the one?”He sat up on the bed and faced me. “Do you want me to be the one?”“I just want the answer. Were you the one who wiped my village?”“No.” He sighed. “I wasn't the one who did that. But if you are looking for someone to blame, you can blame me. After all, I didn't do anything to those men back then.”I clenched my fists. “Who are they? The men who wiped my entire village, what is their group's name?”“The night bird.” He answered without missing a beat. “That night, I didn't come to your village. I came for. The night bird. However, before we reached them, they were a

What's wrong?

“What?” I peered at him, shocked by his words. Though I've not heard much about the vampires, the village chief used to tell us tales about the bloodsuckers, to scare us. “I'm not a human.” He repeated once more.“You are a bloodsucker?” I swallowed.Though I had half the mind to run for the door, my legs couldn't move. It was as if I were rooted to the bed. “Yes, I am.” He nodded. “You see that was why I've not been able to locate my Kingdom. None of the humans knows where the kingdom of vampires is.”“You are a bloodsucker?” I asked once more, blinking to be certain my ears weren't deceiving me. I gave him a once over as I tried to check on anything different about him. Aside from his unnatural strengths and how handsome he was, he doesn't seem less human. He can easily pass for a human. And I guess that was how he stayed hidden.“Yes.” He nodded once more. “You are the only one I've told this aside from my second in command.”“That makes us two.” I gulped, looking at him as if

Let her go

Moon's Pov“You have your room, don't you?” Jol scowled at me. “It has been hot in here since you decided to crash.”“I'm just spending the nights here.” I flopped down on his bed, and placed my left arm over my head, to raise my head. “You should be happy I decided to sleep in here. I know how many females will be hoping to have someone like me in their room.”“Then go over to them. Or better yet, go back to your human. Isn't she the reason you are here now?” “Ray?” I sighed. “I'm not certain she wants me back there. Not after knowing who I am, and what I'm capable of doing.” ““Can you quit making yourself sound like a monster? I'm more of a monster than you are, Moon.” Jol sat on the other side of the bed. “I've killed my fair share of people before I met you. Compared to me, you are a saint.” “But not to her.” “If you are mad for sex, why don't you bite her, and allow nature to take its course? No one can fight against your bite, you know that.” He lay on the bed, dipping it a

You never loved me

Ray's PovI crossed and uncrossed my legs for the tenth time. I felt nervous sitting on the chair, but I didn't allow it to show. Well, that was if you ignore how fast my legs were shaking, and how sweaty my palms were. Those showed how nervous I was.I glanced at the door for the sixth time since that maid left, half expecting Moon to barge in at any time. She should have found him by now, right? It's not as if getting to him will be difficult if he's in the compound like the maid claimed he was. I rose from the chair, and walked to the door, only to rush back when I thought I heard sounds coming from the other side of the door. My heart was beating so loudly that it was deafening to my ears. I pursed my lips, and crossed my legs, with my hands placed over them.If he doesn't show up at the count of a hundred, I'm going to return to bed. And should he come after, I won't give him the time of the day. I turned my gaze to the window, at the sweat-smelling flowers Moon recently

I love you

“Ray?” He tried to touch me, but I slapped his hand off my body. “Don't ever think of touching me. Do you want me out of here? I'm leaving.” I turned and headed for the closet.Luckily for me, I had one of the maids hang the clothes I was putting on the night he caught me. Not the second time, the first one. The one I wore when he caught me when I escaped, was cut that same day. Tears prickled the side of my eyes, but I sniffed, to keep them at bay. In no way will I allow him to know how much his words hurt me. I won't allow him to see that. He doesn't love me, and never cared about me. Shedding tears in his presence will be more like rubbing things in.“I thought you will be happy to leave.” He spoke behind me, startling me from my thoughts. “What do you want?” I asked without turning to face him. “If you are afraid that I will take the clothes that are not mine, then you don't have to bother. I have no desire to take what's not mine.”“That's not why I asked.” He turned me, t
