Chapter 31Irene's P.O.VI watched as Xavier clutched the microphone in his hands while staring at the man with red mercury hair. A murmur erupted amongst the crowd with everyone wondering who the man was. Even I was confused because when Xavier handed his phone to me, I did a thorough research about the AXON and XALON company. From the information written online, this man standing before Xavier wasn't the owner not to talk of being a staff so what was he doing here?I shifted my gaze from Xavier and the man, fixating it on the Supreme Alpha whose eyes widened in shock. I averted my gaze and was about to glance at Xavier when I saw someone staring at me from the indoor balcony in the hall.I raised my head, fixing my gaze on the person who stared down at me. His face whom I can never forget, his name imprinted in my head that would never be erased. I would never forget those bloodshot eyes and those vicious hands that grabbed me by the hair till it felt like my veins were almost popp

Chapter 32Xavier's P.O.VOfwolfe's words infuriated me as I went after him swiftly. He was still taunting Irene and he had barely turned towards my direction when I charged towards him with a blow on the face. "Are you out of your fucking senses. Look Ofwolfe, I don't know what you are up to but if you dare say stupid things about my wife and if you try to taunt her, I would break your bones and feed them to the dogs" He was about to regain his balance when I kicked him by the stomach as he fell on his knees.I crouched before him and pulled him by the hair as he grinned, revealing the blood smeared on his teeth. "I know you are back for an entirely different reason. Dare touch my wife and see what I would do to you and everyone that tries to hurt her" I whispered, releasing my grip around his ear.He bursted into hysterical laughter, clapping his hands together dramatically. "You do know that I can deal with you, you do know that I am allowing myself to be beaten by you! If it were

Chapter 33Irene's P.O.VMy eyes twitched, blinking my eyes continuously as I held onto the handle up the roof of the car. I didn't know what was going through Xavier's mind but all I knew was he drove like someone under the effect of drugs. I screamed out my lungs when I saw a truck driving towards us. My eyes widened with my mouth agape, squeezing my eyes shut as I waited for my deadly end.Xavier swerved the car to the left with the honking of the car and the cuss words from the drivers, triggering all of my senses in my head as I clutched on to the handle tightly. My eyes fluttered open when I didn't hear the sound of the truck crushing against the car.I heaved a sigh of relief, exhaling sharply when my eyes caught Xavier who stared at me through the rear window of the car. His eyes were cold and it sent shivers to run down my spine. He averted his gaze and stared forward, increasing the pace at which the car sped through the road. Was he trying to kill me? That was the only thou

Chapter 34Xavier's P.O.VI heard Irene's scream of horror as she ran as fast as her legs could carry her, waving at my car while glancing back as the werewolves chased after her. My upper lips curled as I stopped the car abruptly, staring at her through the window. "Xavier, please save me! They are going to kill me, they are going to snap my head off my neck. Please save me!" She screamed out her lungs while I clicked my tongue in my mouth, reclining the car seat as I unbuckled my seat belt and leaned backward. When Irene told me that she wanted to leave, I was livid and furious because the words that fell out her mouth aggravated my anger. When she started promising to come back to me without running off, I knew that she was planning on escaping so I watched as she kept blabbing. My anger further intensified when she told me to do anything to her parents and that she was in full support of it. That was when I reassured that she had something up her sleeves.I was so tired and stress

Chapter 35Xavier's P.O.V"How in the world did Steve sedate her!" I exclaimed, dashing towards the inside of the house as Damian ran behind me. "Did you manage to hear her conversation with her father?" I directed the question at him. He bobbed his head, running his hands through his ear as he heaved out an exasperated sigh. "Yes, I happened to grasp her conversation with him. She mentioned something about being maltreated by you!"I stopped on my track, turning to look at him. "What did you say?" I glared with my fist clenched by my side. Damian seemed to have noticed my sudden change in mood as he retracted his step and lowered his head.I ran my hands through my hair frustratedly."So, you mean that she was spewing all that bullshit and you actually watched her say it" I scoffed, twirling my tongue in my mouth. "I am sorry!" He muttered under his breath."Sorry!" I exclaimed, inhaling a deep breath of fresh air in a bid to calm my nerves but it wasn't just working. I exploded in a

Chapter 36Tears brimmed in my eyes as I sat between the werewolves who had transformed back to their human form. Neither of them apologized for scaring me like that and why would I expect an apology from them since I was nothing but an ordinary slave who was kept against her will. When they scared me, I couldn't even believe that I didn't faint! I came out of the car, slamming the car's door shut till it made a thunderous sound. "You should inform Alpha Xavier about your return!" One of them said to me as I turned to look at him."You know what, All of you can both go to hell! Both you and Xavier!" I screamed on top of my lungs. "I would never forgive you all for this wickedness perpetrated against me. You all would pay for everything that you did to me" I barked at them, not knowing where I got the sudden courage and boldness to confront them."What insolence is this? Do you even know who you are talking to?” Damian's eyes blazed as he walked towards me with his fist clenched. Was h

Chapter 37Irene's P.O.VMy knees weakened to the ground, recoiling in horror as I tried to suppress the screams that escaped my mouth by covering my mouth with my hands. I rubbed my eyes with my fingers to be sure that I was seeing right. "T-This can't be true" I stuttered, gasping for breath as I wrapped my hands tightly around me.Slowly, all the memories about my mom that I have locked in the furthermost corners of my heart came rushing inside my head like a flood. Her lifeless body hanging from the ceiling with her curly black hair falling on her face were memories that I would never be able to erase no matter how much I wanted to.The more I stared at the lifeless body hanging from the ceiling fan, the more all the memories came rushing into my head. When I took a clearer look at Lily's cold face, I saw my mom's face in hers.Triggering all my senses, I pulled my knees to my chest, burying my head between my knees as I covered my ear with my hands in a bid to shut the voices tha

Chapter 38"Murdered!" I exclaimed, totally forgetting about the fact that I promised not to ever say a word to Xavier. "Yes! It doesn't make any sense for her to just commit suicide, from what I heard. She was planning on apologizing to me and a maid mentioned that she also mentioned some about revealing the truth""What truth?"I glanced at him as his gaze pierced into mine. "How am I supposed to know? It's good that she died before I laid my hands on her because I would have done worse things to her that she would have never imagined! Good riddance to bad rubbish" He hissed, falling on his back to the bed with his hands sprawled over his head.He kept his gaze fixed on the ceiling fan that creaked slowly while I curled my hands around myself tightly. He shifted his gaze from the ceiling fan to me. I gulped, lowering my head.He shifted closer to me. "Do you think that I killed Lily?" I shook my head vehemently, muttering a "No""Then if you think that I didn't kill Lily, why are you

Chapter 39Xavier's P.O.VMy brows furrowed in confusion as I took a step forward and stared down at her. "Can you repeat what you said?" I scoffed, trying to control the wave of anger rushing inside of me. She raised her head, staring at me with tears glistening in her eyes as she clasped her hands over her chest, rubbing her hands together. "Master, I am sorry for everything and I don't mean to sound disrespectful. But I am tired of living like this, everything started with the debt right? I would fix it and pay you back. I would take loans, work multiple jobs, and starve myself to death. I can even sell my kidney but please set me free"My mouth was slack open as I watched her talk hurriedly. Was that how desperate she was to go away from me? Even though I didn't hold any kind of attraction towards her, her words broke my heart into pieces as I clenched my fist by my side in anger. "Do you want to leave me alone? You want to leave this place?""Yes! I wouldn't run away, I would pay

Chapter 40Irene's P.O.VI barely slept last night, I was haunted by the memories of all the happenings that have been happening in my life. My mom committing suicide, Lily committing suicide and the fact that Xavier mentioned something about her being murdered instead, added to my trauma because I kept having a nightmare about someone trying to kill me while holding a rope in the other hand.I shuddered to stare at my pathetic self in the mirror. My eyes were puffy with dark circles underneath my eyes. I didn't bother brushing my hair. Instead, I tied my hair into a messy bun, taking a final glance at my reflection in the mirror before walking out of the door. All the maids that walked past me in the hallway, looked at me with scorn in their eyes but I didn't care. I was more overwhelmed by grief than to be bothered by their scornful eyes and taunts. I caught sight of Damian who walked down the hallway with a straight expression on his face.I didn't have the strength or time to enga
