Semua Bab Alpha Ezra: Bab 41 - Bab 50

Ezra: “Lia, his scent doesn’t need to set you on edge already.” I said, teasing my wife as the two of us entered the building. “You know, when a man tried to kill me a few days ago, I can’t really find myself sitting on his same table without the urge to slit his throat. I will try my best though.” Lia said, playfully glaring at me, making me laugh. The two of us walked toward the meeting room, ignoring the number of gazes that we got. Most of the employees barely heard of my wife, but most didn’t even know what she looked like. I nodded at Armando who smirked when he saw Lia, knowing that Killian wasn’t going to like this. He opened the door for us, and we walked inside, and I nodded at the men to take a seat as they got up from their chairs, well, all except Killian who stayed seated. “Thank you all for showing up on short notice.” I said, pulling my wife’s chair for her, motioning for her to sit beside me at the head of the table. “As you know that my wife and I have joined pa

Ezra: “You two are getting close.” Armando commented once Lia was inside the house. The two of us still had a few places to go to, and seeing as now I knew Lia was going to be busy, I could tend to them without worrying about her staying alone. At least, she wouldn’t be interacting with too many people nor would she be risking hurting herself. I still wasn’t a hundred percent sure about how mom and dad would be reacting toward her when she was alone, but I knew to be careful. “It seems like we are.” I said, watching as he drove off. “Are you sure that it is a good idea to make her interact with the others, more specifically, Killian as much as she is? You do realize that she could get hurt, and I don’t even know if she realizes it.” Armando said, and I shook my head. Her words played in my head back at the club, and I had to admit, I was more concerned than I let out. “And the fact that they know that she is your weakness could come to your disadvantage. You need to keep that in

Lia:“Madeline, what on Earth are you doing?” I asked, laughing at the woman who was wrapping my sheets around her as I tried to work. The woman has been doing so for the past hour, dancing around the bedroom as she sang to the stereo which was blasting so loud that I could only suspect that all the neighbors on the three kilometer radios could hear us.“I am doing what you are not, having fun, enjoying the night instead of working, and…”“Maddie, come on, leave the woman alone.” Donatello said, entering the bedroom which had the door wide open. He looked at me, and I looked down at the desk, noticing that Madeline turned the music off. He nodded at her to walk out of the room, leaving the two of us alone together. The man and I never really had a conversation, a full one, on our own, and to know that he wanted to talk to me now only scared me, especially since I knew that he hated my family for thinking that they killed his children. “How are you feeling, Lia?” He asked, breaking m

Lia: I sat on the edge of the bed as Ezra showered. His words played in my head, and I couldn’t help but let out a sigh as I massaged my temple. On one side, I had his father to deal with and not to mention, all the shit that the two of us were initially dealing with. Whether it was families, our marriage, or even the man who we called an enemy. My heart raced as I heard him turning off the water faucet, and just the idea of him being angry with me stirred me. The man and I may not have our fairytale that we would be telling the world about. But the two of us knew that if we wanted to, we would be having a story to tell. Provided, of course, that we made it last. He walked out of the bathroom with nothing but his towel which was wrapped around his torso. His eyes met mine before he walked toward the closet, not saying a word. And it was then that I realized that I wasn’t sure whether he was upset with me or not. But I knew one thing, the last thing that I wanted was for him to

Lia: I sat on the edge of the bed as I processed what the woman said. The way she spoke made my chest ache, and my heart race, but I forced myself to stay quiet and calm in front of Ezra who I knew must have had so much on his mind right now. “Lia, I did not come here to harm you. But I did come here to warn you. Thankfully, Ezra had invited me beforehand, but I would have come to see you whether or not he had.” Rosemary said, snapping me out of my daze. Her eyes were fixed on me for a few seconds, and despite the pain that I felt in my chest, I nodded at her to go on, wanting to know what she wanted to say. The fact that she was speaking to me the way that she was made my heart race. If she was really being honest, and if she knew who I was, where I was, and what I have been going through, then why didn’t she come to me from the start? “Killian will come for you. One way or the other, he will try to separate you and Ezra for you to be with him. He asked me whether Ezra’s death wo
