Chapter 41: Doppelgänger
Marsai’s POVI was bound in shackles that hurt every time I tried to break it. They were too strong for me to break from, I was weak from the torture Marisa had given me just to learn a little about Sam and Marsai and how the palace works. She was so different from the Marisa I knew. Does it mean I'll die here? No one will obviously know that I am lost and dying over here. I wished I had not befriended her. Why am I such a gullible target? The cave was so frightening to stay in alone and weirdly, it doesn't echo one's voice. At night, it was a bit chilly and I couldn't shift to my wolf form to make myself a bit warm.“Help me.” I muttered under my breath as I felt I could faint anytime soon.ALPHA ASHER'S POVI called my beta in, then told him to call Sam to come over to my quarters. I needed someone to talk to about Marsai. My heart was jumping in joy as the thought of Marsai sprang up and could not keep the feelings to myself. Marsai had melted me beyond my control and I found myse

Chapter 42: A Different Marsai
Alpha Asher’s POVSam burst out in laughter when he saw her reaction. It took him a while before he restrained himself from laughing, and then he calmed down and faced Marsai.“My brother is so bad at humor. He actually meant it as a joke.” Then he faced me. “How can one tell such a joke without smiling? You looked so stern, she would have thought you really meant it.” Sam chuckled, looking at the both of us with a funny face.I felt embarrassed again, as I had messed up in the joke I had been practicing all night along. It really wasn't easy, changing personality all of a sudden, for someone. Then I looked at her and was relieved that she was giggling too.In a few minutes time, after they had indirectly made jest of me, we got there. The amusement park was so big that I was certain there was a lot of fun there to keep you intrigued. At least, I had chosen the right place for fun.We got inside and made payments and then Marsai rushed to the merry-go-round, she urged us to rush over.

Chapter 43: Oh, Brother!
Alpha Asher’s POV“You have found Marsai?” I asked in surprise and joy.“Yes, young master. They are still in the forest as she is feeble and is asking to rest at every point.” He reported, keeping a straight face. Then I turned to Marisa, who was looking wroth, I scoffed and looked down on her.“I was shocked to know that you and Marsai sleep in the same room at times. She really betrayed me, and she must pay for it.” She said as her voice changed into a raspy tone and the color of her eyes changed.“This should hold you while I am gone.” I ignored her threat and turned around to leave. My beta and I rushed to where Marsai was and when I got there, I saw how pale Marsai was. I felt my heart shatter into pieces. Marsai must have gone through a lot in Marisa's hands. I rushed to her and carried her in my hands and watched as she looked at me weakly. Then we got to my quarters and I laid her on the bed. Shortly, the healer came in and checked her pulse, it was low.“She is fine, althou

Chapter 44: Power Of The Pack
Marsai’s POVI fell to my knees as Sam was shot down with her venom. He fell down flat and was groaning in pain as the venom had some painful impact on him. I cried as I ran to him and dragged him from the scene where they were fighting against Marisa.Alpha Asher was torn to see his brother poisoned, but he left him to me and continued fighting against her. I couldn't see any sign of sympathy on Marisa. She was truly a deceitful person, and I couldn't believe my eyes that the Marisa I once knew was just a facade. It hurt me because I was already starting to see her as a friend and was even willing to give up Alpha Asher for her.I am sure her anger increased because she found out other hidden things I didn't tell her about while she was acting as me. If my wish could be granted now, I would wish that she realize her mistake and would turn a new leaf.I tried to calm Sam down as black veins could be seen going around his face. He was actually trying to fight the poison, I knew he was

Chapter 45: Overwhelming joy
MARSAI'S POV"We'll be going to Tongass National Forest. So, do well to be punctual on Wednesday." She said as she dropped some books and wrote some things down. Why was it that soon? Just when Sam is down. If he doesn't wake up before Wednesday, I'll have to forfeit this adventure because even at this point, i was not feeling good, knowing that Sam is hurt. Why would I be going on an adventure and smile and laugh when someone who got hurt because of my naivety is unconscious. When it was closing, I told Tasha that I would be going home straight, so as to check on Sam and help with whatever they need to get him better. On my way, I was hoping that Sam would have woken up, only heaven knows how overjoyed I would be. I walked faster and when doubts were coming in on if Sam had not woken up, I slowed my pace down so I won't be too fast to the hour he would wake up.I got home and went to his quarters immediately, but was disappointed that he was still on his bed, lying down unconscious.

Chapter 46: Exciting Adventure
MARSAI'S POVThe other three were managing to climb and had almost reached the top when one saw a snake which hissed at him and because he was not expecting and caught off guard, he lost balance and was falling, but he was able to hold on to one of the lower branches. He knew if he started climbing again, he'll certainly not meet with the remaining two, so he jumped down. We all cheered and clapped for him, too.~Then the team for swimming were the next on the list. I was ready to cheer Tasha on, and I was so excited to see how well she would do. They got to the waterside and our sports teacher blew the whistle. They swam inside, and I could see Tasha was the last at that moment. I bit my fingers and stomped my feet, hoping she would get to the end line before them and start swimming back. They got to the end line and Tasha had not gotten there, they were halfway back before Tasha surprised every one of us and won them all.I clapped and jumped up in joy, I was proud that my friend w

Chapter 47: Trust Issues
MARSAI'S POVThe next day, I went outside the tent to the forest to feel the natural breeze. This was like a usual attitude of mine, as it was something relieving to feel nature at its best.I went to the forest and looked around, I was missing Sam and I wondered how he was doing. “Hey!” I looked back and to my surprise, it was Sam. He was looking bright, and my heart leaped for joy, but I rubbed my eyes and when I opened them back, I noticed that I was only hallucinating or whatever it could have been. I guessed I missed Sam so much, he was like a brother to me and I cherished as much as he cherished me. Then I tried climbing a tree to see how far I can go and how good I was. It was better to see how good I could be without people watching. As I climbed, I realized that those who were climbing were doing an impressive job. It was hard to take a step closer and when I was tired, I fell and screamed because I thought I had climbed far, but I was barely far from the ground and I laug

Chapter 48: Fears
MARSAI'S POVI stood frozen like a fish in the middle of a cold lake and was shocked as a few of my classmates seemed to be excited by the whole idea.I mean, how could you be excited with the prospect of being buried with your head the only free and moveable thing? As I thought about it the more, I felt suffocated. We all moved out to the forest, and we walked a bit to a part where there was a lot of sand. What if there were strange insects on the ground? What if something bit us? Although I knew the teachers wouldn't let anyone die, but it still didn't ease my fear. The first set of people went and Tasha was among. She smiled nervously, and I smiled back to cheer her on.Mrs. Philips and the sports master began to bury them with incredible speed as they explained the lessons of the contest. It was to teach, patience, endurance and enhance the ability to stay in an uncomfortable place just to accomplish a mission. As the four stood with only their heads out, I was a little tickled by

Chapter 49: Spider!
MARSAI'S POVFinally, after weird moments of looking into each other's eyes, I withdrew myself from him, and maybe it's just me, but I felt a little resistance on his side.I licked my lips and looked for something for my eyes to land on, and cleared my throat. For me, clearing my throat always clears a odd atmosphere.“Thanks. I think we should head back now. It's getting really late and from your stories, I think it's really dangerous out here.” I said while avoiding eye contact with him.“Yes you're right, allow me to walk with you a little way.” He said, nodding his head.“Feel free.” I said, still not looking at him.I looked at Tasha and she was smiling. Likewise, I recognized her smile and could immediately guess what she was thinking.Of course, she was thinking a love story would spring up out of nowhere between me and Arnold. But I knew that was impossible. Then as we walked, she whispered into my ear.“I'm so excited Masai, I can't believe you're finally having your love s

Chapter 50: Nameless Creature
ALPHA ASHER'S POVThe journey was a long and tiring one, but because I was determined to get my answers, I kept moving. While walking, I caught a glimpse of something moving in the forest. I looked left and right immediately. Could it be an attacker or someone is trying to scare me, which is not possible?“Who is there? Show yourself right now!” I shouted. There was no response and that irritated me, I was annoyed at such. Then, to my surprise, I saw Marisa. She had this dark aura around her like smoke. I shook my head to be sure I wasn't seeing illusions. And she was gone, but she appeared again when I was about to move. Then I brought out my sword and was ready to slash her again if she was real. But I didn't see her any longer, I was expecting to see her again while walking, but I didn't see her.A few hours later, I got to the old one's hut. I went in but didn't find her there. I knew she wouldn't have gone far, she must have gone to get some things. I sat down outside her hut, wa
