Lucas was surprised to see Doctor Ezra's call very early in the morning. He took a while to wonder what would make the doctor call him very early. It was not time for his check-up, and there was no challenge whatsoever. His kids were home and we're doing fine. Daphne was with her mother-in-law in the city for some business. It only left him with Scarlett. She had been down with an ailment and he had not bothered to check up on how she was faring. He picked up the phone immediately on the second ring."Is something wrong with Scarlett?" He asked immediately, his heart beginning to thump wildly."I just need you to calm down and meet me in the hospital so we can talk about it," the doctor said. "Just tell me that all is well," Lucas said, his voice laced with worry and agitation."I suggest you come first," the doctor said before he hung up.Lucas was suspicious immediately. Something had probably gone wrong and he knew that bad news was usually announced in person. He looked at the s

Alex was up very early as he had decided on an early start before he slept the previous night. He picked up his phone but he could not bring himself to call Scarlett. Since the doctor had told him and Lucas that they were perfect donors for Scarlett, he had been trying to keep a distance. She had called him the previous day but he would not answer. He sent her a message instead saying that he was busy with a meeting. After a brief moment of contemplation during his bath, he decided that he could as well go to see her as he did not have a busy day. He only had some proposals to approve and it was what he could do in the confines of his home. He did not have to go to the office. When he got to her doorstep, he was reluctant to knock. He thought it was a bad idea and was about to turn around when the door opened. He turned around immediately.Raymond, her assistant, was standing there. He had probably spent the night in the basement of her house again. They probably had some work to do

Alex was not only surprised that his mother had called him very early in the morning, but she had also requested to see him. Her favorite child was Nick.It was not as though there was a rift between them, but they were not the best of friends. He was closer to his father. While Nick helped his mother out when they were younger, he was playing golf with his dad.Everyone was surprised when he decided that he wanted to start his own company and partly work with his father. It would have been okay if it were Nick that made that decision, but he took everyone by surprise. His mother still thought that he was the prodigal son after he left Singapore for the States. She was proud of him for starting something and standing on his two feet, but she acted like she would be happier if he found his way back home, to put that brain of his into the family business.Nick had been a good heir but Alex was the generator of more ideas, more reasons why Nick sustained a great and blossoming relationsh

"What did you say to her in there?" Nick asked as he took Daphne back to where they were seated initially. "Maybe if you had not rushed in there like we were planning your murder, I would have had the chance to have even a normal conversation with her," Daphne said, sounding agitated."At the end of the day, Scarlett might probably start to request answers from you guys," she continued. "You are all doing a bad job at keeping a secret," she added. Just then, Scarlett passed by and went to take her seat. "Is everything okay?" She asked Lucas. "You all came to the restroom," she added in case they had not understood why she asked."We just wanted to make sure that you were doing great," Alex was the one that answered. He stood up afterward and headed out. If he had to lie to Scarlett one more time, he might as well end up spilling the beans. He had to walk away to prevent himself from saying anything. Nick excused himself and followed after his brother. They got into another compartm

Alex rushed at her immediately while Nick picked up his phone immediately to call for help. Lucas turned on his phone too so he could make a quick call to Doctor Ezra about her current situation. If there was a right time to put aside their differences and work together, it had to be now. Nick looked at Daphne as he spoke to the pilot on the phone. He saw how she was visibly trembling and he knew she was highly terrified. He went over to where she was and put a hand around her in a comforting manner, rubbing her back gently in circles so she would calm down.Once she was calm, he held her close to him. "I am sorry about this but remember the doctor said panicking will increase your blood pressure, and it's not good for the baby," he said to her. She nodded and turned around to hug him.The medical team soon arrived with a travel bus and they collected an unconscious Scarlett immediately."I called Doctor Ezra and he said we need to bring her in immediately," Lucas said as they all fi
