Place unknown
I must have fallen asleep longer than I thought, because as Quill is gently shaking me awake, I feel even more tired than before. The carriage has stopped in front of my home, and Lip has already left, leaving the door opened for Quill and me. Quill gets out first, frowning a bit, but helps me out, nonetheless. "Strange, there's no greeter." he says, setting me down on the grass. I look to see that he's right; not only was there no greeter, but no anyone for that matter. The gardens were empty, the guards that usually were posted in the front missing. "How peculiar." I say, leaving my shawl in the carriage. Lip frowns as he pulls out aragonite, the crystal pulsing quickly. "There are people around, and they're inside." "Perhaps father has business to attend to, or more than likely, he's not expecting us." I say, trying to sound surer than I feel. Quill walks ahead of me, and I notice that Lip follows close behind me, both of them looking

Alone
I sit on the ground, still in shock, as Quill and Lip quietly discuss something to each other. I don't bother to listen in, my hands in my lap, the useless bracelet on my wrist a reminder that I'm just as worthless. My eyes ache from having wept so many tears. I'm pretty sure my maids would be chiding me if they saw what state I'm in. My father would try to cheer me up, and my brother would make me laugh until the tears of sorrow turned tears of laughter. I wonder where they are, I think to myself. I wonder if they're okay. Another tear drop lands on the top of my hand, a sudden glint catching my attention. Turning around, I realize that Lip and Quill have disappeared; Death stands there, his hands in his pockets, eyes curious. "How are you here?" I ask him, and he gives me a small smile, before sitting next to me. "You exhausted yourself from crying." was his answer, and then silence came over the both of us. "Why are you here then?" I ask, clasping my hands together on m

New arrivals
I'm walking out of my father's office, followed by Quill, as we head over to the training area. He's lost in thought, and so am I, as my brain continues to search for Isadora's whereabouts. I've sent word to one of my father's allies, a elderly wizard, and his apprentice that are very strong in magick. I have high hopes they'll make the trip to Ovylian, and be able to assist more with tracking down my father and brother. Since disappearing with my family, Mason hasn't made an appearance. Or the Fae, and I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing at this point. What is he doing to them?, I wonder, knots in my stomach. "You're going to split your nail if you continue to bite it like that." Quill says, pulling me out of my head. "Sorry." I respond on a reflex, chiding myself. "It's alright." he says, hugging me to his body. I feel stiff against him, but as he continues to hug me, my body relaxes, and my eyes are wanting to burn with tears again. Stop crying, I th

The pursuit
They both take really fast steps away from me, and I'm half walking half jogging to keep up. "What's the problem though? I only asked if Lip could teach me to further wield my magick capabilities." I said, Quill stopping as he turned to look at me, and then glare at Lip. A sudden thought hit me then, and I stared at Quill, crossing my arms over my chest. "Lip knew about me possibly having magick, and you kept him from telling me, huh?" I told Quill, feeling my anger rise up again. Quill didn't meet my gaze, though I could see it written plainly on his face. He had known, and he had ordered Lip to keep quiet about it. The fact that Lip had gone against his alpha's orders, and still told me meant that he had wanted me to know, and Quill had wanted me to stay oblivious. "What is wrong with you?" I whispered to Quill. "I could be I could have done something! And you just wanted me to stay what? Worthless? Weak?" I asked, feeling my voice raise up. "Look, no. I wanted you t

In Thelmes
As Queen Calandra, and Sir Lucios guided me out of her castle, I felt my heart beat a bit faster. She was talking about her kingdom, maybe giving me facts, but my thoughts went back to what she had proclaimed earlier. I want you to lure out that mutt so we can have him for dead. Mason. You've gotten into so much trouble. We stepped from the underground castle, the petals on the floor turning into strange lime green colored grass. The colors in Thelmes were always so different from Ovylian, or anywhere really. Everything looked so bright, like it had been covered in pastels. Even the lakes were a crystal blue, and could easily been mistaken for a small part of the ocean. I stared at the trees, the leaves turning a crimson red as they dropped to the ground before changing into a charcoal black. "I've taken you've never been to Thelmes." Queen Calandra commented, grabbing a long twig, and then lighting the end of it with the help of Lucios. She took a deep drag of it, h

Isadora's treachery
Sir Nightingale didn't look the slightest bit offended at what Queen Calandra had referred to his lover as. He blinked, and then motioned for us to follow him. "I will say, your Majesty, she's with child. I don't think it would be proper if you were to...well you know..." he said, making it sound strange for some reason. Queen Calandra rolled her eyes, flipping a strand of hair over her shoulder. "Don't be rude. Your lover isn't my taste at all." The silence was heavier as we made it to Sir Nightingale's tent, where he opened the flaps to reveal Isadora sleeping on his cot. Her tawny black tresses were in tangles with pins, and pearls, her hands resting under her cheek like a child's would. She wore a pale gray nightgown, loose on her shoulders, but tight around her belly. Her belly that made her look that she was six months pregnant instead of two or three. "Her stomach is huge." I whispered, not wanting to disturb her. "Yes, otherwordly partners babies' tend

Scarred
"She has so many scars." a hushed whisper says, as I feel someone touch my tender skin gently. It stings, and I want to wake up, or even slap the hand away from touching me, but I'm too tired to even want to move anything. Eventually, the inky darkness shifts over, and a familiar fog settles over the ground. I'm feeling a little hazy, as I stare at my palms, strange colors emitting from them. "What's going on?" I ask out loud, my voice echoing out throughout the darkness. "Are you alright?" A voice asks not too far away from me. I squint my eyes, seeing the inky darkness shift into a person, and I see a person in a black hoodie with what looks like a scythe, standing not too far away, a concerned expression on his face. "You're beautiful." I say, trying not to trip as I near him. It ends up happening anyway; he catches me by my arms, and steadies me, an alarmed expression on his face. "What's wrong? What happened to you?" he asks, smoothing my hair from my face. His

Consequnces
My face is bandaged from the right side of my temple to the under of my chin. I can't see the skin underneath, but from the red that peeks out from the bandages, I know it must look severe. Even the right side of my hair has fallen victim to my fire magick; the dark tresses are even darker, looking charred, and severed at the bottom. I touch it, wincing at the crispy feel of my hair, and put the mirror back down. "Don't worry, my dear. We'll do everything we can to heal you faster." Quill says, taking the mirror from me, and placing it back on my dresser. I nod, though I wonder if he's as concerned at my appearance. Before I can say anything though, he wheels me back out of my room, and heads for the living room area, where I can hear people talking quietly. As we make it through the doors, the stopping talks, and I can see it's Quill's pack, my father, my brother Caleb, and two women who are speaking to Xolo softly. My father is the first one to run to me, and

Talking with the "hostage"
I frown at the sound of that and start to wheel off. My chair makes me feel slow though, and I decide to leave it in the hallway instead, struggling to my feet. My legs shout at me to sit back down, my feet crying. But after a few forced steps, I'm able to half limp half walk to the rooms. I know exactly where Isadora is being kept at; in the furthest rooms of the house, all the way on the east wing. It's barely used, as it was a hindrance to leave and visit the estate. My feet move awkwardly but surely in that direction, waving off the concerned and shocked faces of passing by servants and maids. When I finally see the hallway, I listen in for any servants or anyone really. Leaning against the wall for support, I start to run faster. There are four doors, each cleaned and changed in case visitors, or extended family come for a visit. I look at the under of the cracks of the doors for candlelight, seeing the one in the center with just a faint light. It's locked from the

"You've spoken with her?" he asks, and he actually sounds relieved. "Of course. I overheard you and my father talking about the plans you have for her." I said, confused at her tone. "I wanted you to know. Your father wanted to keep this as a secret from you. So, when we were speaking about it, I made sure you were there to hear what was going on." he explained, running a hand through his hair. Seeing his expression, and body language, I decide to believe him. "So, what are you going to do with her? She's too big and frail to even be moved." "Lockhart's been trying to heal her. That's why he's not here right now. And he finds it suspicious that a werewolf pregnancy like this could cause so much damage." Quill explains, and I freeze in my seat. "What do you mean?" I asked carefully. Instead of answering my question, Quill leads me off to a less crowded part of the dining room area, pulling a seat to sit across from me. "Lockhart explained that when humans decide to pai
