"You know, the first time I met you I never thought you'd stoop so low" I said mockingly"What do you mean by that?" She asked furrowing her brows "Oh you don't know?" I asked She rolled her eyes again and this time I felt a surge of anger rising inside of me. I took a deep breath and tried to stay calm and composed."Dionne, let's cut the small talk," I said firmly. "We both know why I'm here. You've been attacking me and Drew behind our backs, and I'm here to confront you about it."Dionne raised an eyebrow, a smirk playing at the corner of her lips. "Attacking you? Please, Brielle. Why would I waste my time with something as petty as that."I narrowed my eyes. "You know what, I thought so too? But maybe you aren't as smart as I thought you to be" I said to her in a harsh tone " Now don't play dumb with me, Dionne, I've had enough of it."She leaned back in her chair, crossing her arms. "And what are you going to do about it, Brielle? You know I have the upper hand in this. You an

Cullen immediately responded,"The Project, I meant to say Drew. In as much as this project meant alot to my company I wouldn't want to see my wife get hurt in between" he said gesturing his hands towards meI didn't say a word, I was too shocked to say anything. "Oh, of course we don't want that and I think she understands that now, right Brielle?" Drew asked meI just nodded, still backing him"Well I'll have to head to the office now and Brielle about what we were to discuss earlier this morning, can you make it to my office instead?"I gave a nod of agreement. Cullen then left and I turned to face Drew. "Are you hungry?" I said out of nowhere to Drew"Ugh.. not really but if you are I can join you" he said looking at me confusinglyI held him and dragged him towards the kitchen where Carla was brewing a kettle of coffee."Carla, can you make us some bread and omelets with a cup of coffee?" I asked "Okay ma'am, right away" she said as she went ahead to prepare it.I turned to D

And not to long he admitted,"Brielle," he said softly, reaching to take my hand in his. "I wanted to apologize for the way I spoke to you earlier. It wasn't fair of me to say that I wanted to exclude you from the project."I looked up at him, my expression softening. "It's all right," I said with a small smile. "I didn't really keep it in mind. As long as you didn't mean it, that's all that matters."I could see he felt a wave of relief wash over him at my words. "Of course I didn't mean it," he said, his tone earnest. "I value your input and your contributions to the team. I was just frustrated with the way things were going, and I shouldn't have taken it out on you."I squeezed his hand gently, my eyes were warm and understanding. "It's okay, Cullen. We all have our moments of frustration. The important thing is that we move past it and work together as a team."He smiled at her, "You're right. And I promise to be more mindful of how I speak to you in the future."My smile grew wid

Cullen finally returned my calls and said he was in a board meeting and that was why he couldn't pick up, he said Drew had already informed him on what was going on and I should just remain calm."I should remain calm? Well it's easy for you to say when you weren't the one they called and threatened" I said in frustration"There's not much panicking would do and as it is, go downstairs and meet Carla" he said calmlyI was confused, I was in the middle of someone threatening my life and all he could say was that I should go meet his Maid?"I don't under.." before I could complete my statement, he hung up" I was furious. After Cullen hung up on me, I felt frustrated and angry at the situation. How could he be so calm when someone was threatening my life? But his words replayed in my mind, "there's not much panicking would do," and I knew he was right. I took a deep breath and went downstairs to meet Carla."Carla," I yelled"Yes ma'am, I'm coming" she responded coming out of the kitch

I'm on my way to the building, could you kindly text me the exact location?" I spoke into the phone, trying to keep my tone composed."Of course, Brielle, I'll send it over now," he responded promptly, and I watched as a message from him popped up on my phone screen. "Thank you, I just received it," I replied before ending the call.I leaned back on the comfortable seats and took a deep breath, taking in the bustling environment of the wealthy area in New York.
