Alder's POVMy skin bristles at the way he speaks to my mate and I clench my fist looking at the size of fifteen of them. I glanced at Schofield and saw he had that same disgusted , angry look on his face for their manner of speech to his Luna. Good, at least I had a glimmer of hope that of I start beating them to a pulp he would join me, at least to defend the honor of his Luna. I flinch as Cassie takes a step forward and makes a show of counting them. "Fifteen" she whispers loudly. "Is this your total number sir?'' she asked the one who confronted her, taking position as an unsolicited leader in the group. He huff and shakes his head. "No, we were fifty. The rest stopped work when it became too dangerous and the wage became too small for the stress. It just wasn't worth it anymore." he says and I flex my wrist. "What's your name?" she asks and I'm curious as well. I wanted to have his name in my mind , ready to hit him. "Eugene" he said and she tilts her head. "Well, Eugene,

Cassandra's POVAs we go back home, I am there nestled in the back seat, looking out the window because my cheeks are red and embarrassment is eating away at me. I cannot believe I held hands with him. I even locked fingers with him, Oh for goddess he must have found out that I felt lonely and so deprived of love. Another reason I am looking outside is because for weird reasons I just realized I can lock eyes with Alder through the rear view mirror , well yes it was because he caught me staring at him. It has been just a few hours out of the dungeon and he was already making me feel like this, this mate bond throbbing,. blushing like a school girl kind of way. "Anything left for today?' I asked out loud and Schofield answered with a"Nothing more, although you asked me to mark training at four pm today" Oh, I already forgot about that but thank the heavens that I put it there. Something to get him off my mind as well as giving Schofield the pass to hit me, that is if I'm not tr

Cassandra's POV"Yeah what's up?" he asks with a cutting edge in his voice and I inwardly grimace. Fuck I shouldn't have done that "I'm sorry for earlier" I say and his lips curl a little, not upwards but downwards. "Nothing wrong with a Luna correcting her subordinates" he shrugs and I sigh. This actually needs more repairing than I thought. "It's just, that's my wolf's reflex sometimes" I say lying through my teeth and praying it will get me off the hook this time."I said it's fine, I'm okay nobody's hurt" he says and I stand my ground." Well you saying nobody's hurt proves that you're hurt" I say and he scoffs. "Says who Luna?" he asks and I roll my eyes."Your words your tone, they all prove that you're mad at me. " I say and he nods. "What ever rocks your boat" he says and I sigh again. "Let me make it up to you" I murmur and he raises his head as he stops punching the bag of sand in front of him. " Make it up how?, you don't owe me anything, you made your mind clear

Alder's POV"I knew you were my mate , from the first time I saw you staring at me with those huge eyes. You weren't afraid of a huge wolf and I confess I was quite big for my age. I wanted to come close to you, till I heard you were the one without wolf. The one everyone was whispering about. The one every parent warned their child away from. I told my father and he told me to never speak of it again. Told me that before the people we should value mates as we got them from the goddess but we should try our best to switch the out. My mother wasn't his true mate. But that's a story for another day. " I say and she sigh."I'm tired Alder, tired of throwing blames, trying to find who is at fault and nothing is getting better. You did a lot of bad things to me as I did a lot of bad things to you as well. Things are not simple and easy but we can make it simple" she says to me and I nod."It's just about our feelings, I know how I feel about you. The mate bond is my witness. I feel it. Y

Cassandra's POV" I not only want to kiss you up here, but down there as well. All over your face, all over your breasts and your nipples. To look deep into your eyes as I am now and fuvk you raw and deep that you'll never ever forget who you belong to" he says and I'm entranced by his voice and his words. I never expected my mate to take like this. "You'll forget every other man that has touched you or kissed you before me" he whispers and his breath in the back of my ear only spurs me onLooking so harmless, under that exterior was a man that was so sexy he couldn't hide it as it spilled out of himNot that I was sure he wanted to hide it anyways. I swallow as I watch his lips, hoping I do not look so hungry for him to kiss me. I look up into his eyes for the last time and I see his wolf push to the surface his eyes glowing before he kisses me. And oh my days, Elia is a big fat liar. It isn't rose and fields and butterflies with this man, it's hard and fast and rough and I like it.

Gina's POV"He was imprisoned for a while. He came out of the cells repentant and he swore on his coronation day to not take any mate that was not you. Of course everyone thought you were dead at the moment so it was like he subjected himself to a life full of misery and loneliness." I say to her and I watch as she eats up the last bits of the sandwich I made for her. "So Alder suffered, he looks so " she whispers to her self as she licks her fingers. She looks a few years younger eating like a twelve year old. "What about my parents at the time?'' she asks me and I wonder why she would ask me that. "Your Majesty, why would you ask me that, that is something confidential to you're supposed to hear from Jack himself " I say to her feeling invincible hands clamp around my throat. I clear my throat and take a sip of water. "But you know, right? You're just telling me to ask my family, you're not telling me that you don't have a knowledge of what happened to my parents. " she says an

Cassandra's POVI feel the tremor go through Gina's shoulders as we both walk into my mother's room. Well her first then I follow closely behind, before she faints thinking I'm leaving her to her fate here. "Oh daughter, it's no nice to see you, and what is this delicious gift you have brought me?" my mother asks and Gina hurriedly looks at me shocked. "delicious?" she asks me . I laugh shaking my head, she is so easy to scare."Knock it off mom" I say rolling my eyes at her teasing. "Or else we might spend the next twenty minutes trying to wake Gina" I say and my mom laughs. "I'm so sorry dear, I just could not help myself when I smelt her fear, she looks so cute" mom says as I nod agreeing with her.Despite being Jack's age mate and age mate and about five years older than I am, she looked like my age, small and cute like a button. I lead her to the chair opposite my mother's at the tea table where my mom is sitting."I prefer to stand" she says to me and I laugh. "Common, you

Cassandra's POVThe room is deathly silent, not that there are plenty occupants anyways. Just Jack and the doctor are here, including Gina who just ran in like a freight train. More people come in but I don't mind the number. My vision goes fuzzy as I walk towards the white sheet is. Jack's eyes are red and his face looks like he scrubbed at it for the past twenty minutes. It looks weird how he's so unsmiling. He glances at me then takes another look at me. It obvious to see that he's suprised to see me here. Yes she was cruel to me but she is my mother. Not right now or biologically but she fed me and housed me. Although it was scraps and although it was in the dirty basement, she saved me from freezing to death in the cold , those years. Fuck, I'm literally alive because of her. I move closer still and pull back the white sheet. She looks oddly peaceful, like she did not make my life hell. I'm grateful that she is though. It would be cruel to wish her unrest in death. I swallow t

Cassandra's POVWe spend the next few days wondering and discussing who it might have been, or who they might have been seeing as it was not possible for just knew person to run all that by himself. We being, Alder, Georgiana, Scofield and myself. At a point I wondered on why Georgiana was even there at all but waved it off thinking that maybe her stupid brain could mislead us into knowing who it was. You know , maybe we would find out who it was by mistake. Although I wasn't too comfortable with her being involved in the whole investigation, but she still thought she was the beta so why not leave her be. However after days of pondering and wondering, we soon got bored and tired of the whole shit show and as a result, left everything to die down. Since no one was hurt, we took it as a prank and left it at that, although my gut was telling me it could be more. We strengthened our security and reinforced our borders. Then Elia came visiting. I was sitting in my office staring at the le

Gina's POV I let myself out of the room, I strangely feel out of place. I let out a breath as I stand behind the door, their laughter reaching me and pushing me further away from the room. Yes, despite my happy demeanor and my wife smiles, I struggle with low confidence and self esteem. They seem happy enough without me, so I'll just excuse myself and leave them. I think about what it is exactly that I'm doing in this pack. Nothing actually, I wake up every morning, take a shower, eat , wander around until either Cassie or her mother was ready to see me. Then I would wander around when they got busy again, no actual meaning to my days. The infirmary was full, even Amelia who just got here found a spot because she had a license, but me? Nothing. I didn't have any real qualifications but I knew fo certain, if I had to continue to live in Crimson Pack, I wanted to do it on my own terms.I get off the last staircase and see Scofield coming into the building."Hello" I say to him and he
