The past twenty-four hours had been the hardest hours of my life. According to Moore, My heart stopped beating when I was rushed into the hospital, The doctors were still confused at the fact that I survived. I couldn't remember anything from those moments. But I do remember the vague sounds of the storeroom door shifting from its position, the rest was history. I had almost had it with the oxygen mask on my face, the IV had casual beeps for the past fifteen minutes and I could barely feel the pain in my torso anymore; Moore informed me that I had been whisked away for a blood transfusion. Luckily they had arranged for blood in time; or else, I would have been maggot food by now.But that was all I could tell or speak to Moore about. It felt like he had been hypnotized by that best friend of his; What was her name again? Ah, Marissa. I wasn't sure how she found us, but she did. Moore said she was the one who opened the Storeroom. For some reason; I felt that the distance between us w

“I’ll go freshen up,” I spoke sharply and exited the room. I slowly pulled my wheelchair toward the bathroom, when I was close enough; I stood up and wince at the pain in my torso. One step into the bathroom was all it took to send me to a spiral. My heart stopped working for a moment, my eyes stung with tears and I felt my legs go soft like jellies. I parted my lips to speak and the only name that came out was “Moore!” My hands traveled to my chest and I get them to twist and turn, who could have done this? Who could do something as horrible as this? My hands shoot terribly and I reached out to touch the coated mirror in front of me. Blood had been splashed all over it and “I’m coming for you” was written boldly, which ranked a few ways down what was running through my mind though. Everything could have just been a bad dream, something that I could forget, a silly coincidence. But the scorpion tattoo that had been drawn poorly reminded me of my father. Several months before he di

I pushed Moore off me with all the strength I had left and ran off to our suite. When I was finally in the room I locked the door and slid down it. What sort of game was he playing? Why was he doing this? On one hand: He claimed that he would never love me and that he loved Louisa dearly and on the other hand, he claimed that he could not lose me. What am I to Moore? Where do I stand in this drama?Moore demanded that I stay away from but then he willingly pulls me close. He wanted me to stay out of his issues but I constantly needle in mine. What sort of lukewarm relationship did we share and why did he think that he had the right to interfere?!“Amber, are you in there? Are you—”“What’s that to you?!” I spat and turned around. “Why do you care Moore?!” I demanded sharply. “Why?!” I added and let a sob escape my lips. “This contract will end in a few days; So why are you doing this? Why are you playing with me and my feelings?!” I asked him in a hoarse. voice. “Amber...” “Too m

“Marissa?” I muttered and stood up, she seemed to be shaking like a leaf, her hair was drenched and her eyes bloodshot. She could barely stand on her feet “They caught me, almost killed me. But then they saw you, and they left; just like that.” Marissa informed us sharply. Her eyes were glazed over and I watched as she ran her hands over her face. “Who is Amber?” She asked again and wrapped her arms around herself. The purple fleece she was wearing hugged her skin. “Are you okay?” Moore checked in and walked towards her. “Don’t change the subject.” The dark-haired girl spoke and glanced between us. “Why were you calling Louisa, Amber? Who is that?” She questioned with a calm tone. I sighed. The last thing I wanted to do was explain things to this woman. “Amber is a nickname.” I dismissed before Moore could form words. He raised an eyebrow at me. I frowned and plopped down on the couch. “This discussion should be the last thing going on,” I added sharply and rested my head on the wa

I scrambled to my feet; Completely unbothered by the pain in my torso. I practically soaked in Lucia's blood, I knelt beside her, "Moore! Moore! Lucia's not moving!" I practically screeched and locked eyes with Moore who had been laying on the ground unmoving, I felt sharp jabs in my heart at the thought that he was in the same state as her. I crawled into him and wiped my tears away, the mascara I had hurriedly put on a few hours ago, sneered across my face before I could break out into another set of sobs, Moore's eyes opened and he let out a breath. Moore sat up and I felt relief wash over me. It took him a few moments I register his hearings but when he was finally settled; I felt his arms grab me and he looked over me frantically. "Are you alright, Amber?"Moore asked and I nodded slowly. Moore's face contorted into confusion, he tilted his head at me and I swallowed thickly, my hands went to my hair and I tugged on it slowly, The dark-haired man must have noticed my distress b
