I'd kept quiet for some time because I thought that I was overreacting and reading meanings to everything, but the anxious expressions on their faces showed that they really had something deep to hide. It was obvious that their truth would lead to endless hurt for me, but what could I do than to keep living in denial? Kai's POV I felt uncomfortable at the office. Deep down, I could sense that Tracey was hurt and I needed to be with her. I stopped by Lorena's desk and watched how engrossed she was in sorting out some files on her desk. When she finally noticed my presence, she flinched. "I'm sorry, sir. I didn't know that you were standing here." She apologised. "You don't need to apologise, you're just doing your job. I'll go home now because I have something important to attend to. Take care of things while I'm gone and if anything comes up, don't forget to inform me." I instructed her. "Yes, sir. I'll do just as you said." After making sure that everything was fine at the office, I clutched tightly to my bag and walked towards the parking lot of the building. I checked my wristwatch and discovered that it was just some minutes past noon. I dialled Tracey's phone but it rang and there was no response. Her action was appalling because she hardly ignored my calls no matter how busy she was.

Kai's POV My phone chimed on the table. I ignored it even though it could be a business call. Nothing gave me joy since Tracey left two weeks ago and every breath I took felt like it was one step to my death. It would have been better if she rejected me than giving me such cold shoulders. Damn! She wasn't even picking up my calls. The phone rang again and I picked it up without checking for the caller's identity. "Hello..""Good morning, sir. It's Mark Thomson speaking from Wales Industry, one of the companies that you did business with some months back." "Oh… How are you?" I asked and placed my head on the headrest then swirled my executive chair around. "I'm fine, sir. My boss asked me to invite you to a business conference that will be held in two days. We believe that it will be beneficial for your company seeing that you are growing in leaps and bounds." He stated and I stifled a yawn, feeling bored with the conversation. "Alright. Kai's POV "Honey, please, stay with me." I pleaded and placed her head on my thighs as blood sipped through the injuries she had. She entwined her hand with mine and stared into my eyes with a smile.
