I found a crowd packed right in front of her house, as I pulled up. Murmurs coming from the people around, while they went on about something I couldn't understand. Their eyes lingered on my figure the whole time, as I got down from my car, proceeding towards Nia's house. Just about going in, a man stopped me, his form blocking my entry.Taking a look at the man, I took notice of all that came with him. Hair grey, beard long and white, with teeth crooked, his features got me staring on. He reached his hands out to touch my arms, and at once, he spoke, hands shaking in the process. I steadied him up as he almost lost his balance, while he shook his head slowly, looking up at me. "Young man" He began in a croaky voice"who are you?" He questioned."Cameron" I responded almost immediately, with my eyes fixed intently on him."Cameron" He repeated, pronouncing it like there was something interesting to the name."And who are you here to see, if I may ask?""Uh....Someone" I uttered t

Cameron's POV...It was finally the day of my graduation, and just between you and I, I wasn't happy. I was scared. College now lied in wait for me, and much more than anything, I was scared to begin a new life without having my family at my side. It was easier for Jordan to go to college, but it seems to be so hard for me. I had already gotten accepted into the college of my choice, and my parents were more than happy for that. Most especially mum. My eyes searched through the crowd for just one person. Nia. Since the day we left the hospital, we still hadn't gotten to speak or see each other. At this moment, I had come to accept the fact, that my heart sure longed for her. Could Ashley be right then? Do I really have feelings for her? The whole graduating class was sat here in the large hall of Greenville high, alongside parents and guests. My eyes flickered to the figures of mom and dad at the other end of the hall, both conversing with each other, and the instant they t

Cameron's POV...I sat on my bed the minute I got to my room, letting out a low breath I never knew I was holding.Getting away from the crowd was just what I needed. There was a light knock on the door, which made me snap my head up, wondering whoever that could be, now that I had decided to come have a moment to myself.I prayed the person would leave, but then, the door pushed open slowly, a figure proceeding in. A feeling of warmth rushed inside of me the second, my eyes took in her profile. "Hey" She spoke quietly, a weak smile playing on her lips.Hands resting on her thighs, her gaze remained fixed on me."Why aren't you downstairs celebrating with everyone? The party is for you" She said to me at once."It's just not my thing" Followed my response "Come have a seat" I offered immediately, pointing at the bed. I noticed her being hesitant, her gaze averting away from mine."Uh..." She began, voice low.I got up at once, advancing towards her figure, while she fiddled with

25, December. Christmas... Peering out through my snow-stained window glass, I observed the little festivities going on in our tiny neighborhood. Christmas lights of all sorts beautified the streets under the night light, while the sound of jingles could be heard from afar. The joy of the season, sent much warmth all through my body. Shifting my gaze to the invitation card held tightly in my grip—You're invited to the Christmas dinner of the Williams. So it read. There was a tiny note which was stuck at the back, which came from Ashley. In the note, she expressed how much she'd missed me, and how she was looking forward to me showing up at the Christmas dinner. Of course, I was eager to attend the Williams' dinner, mostly cause I would be seeing Cameron. Oh, how I've missed him so much.Seeing his face, while he teased me endlessly, smiling and chatting with me, brought much joy to my heart, not to forget the comfort of being around him.The last time we talked was over the pho

It was sad that I still found it my job to keep the kitchen clean, even though I was no longer a maid here. I just got bored and decided to find something doing, which was what prompted me to come over to the kitchen and do the dishes. "Hey" I heard a voice from behind. I jolted in fear, then turned to see Cara moving towards me. "I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to--" She apologized. "Oh, It's fine" I replied with a smile. She drew nearer to me and without saying a word, she began assisting me. "Thanks" I said to her. She gave me a smile while she rolled her jacket sleeves up, then grabbed an apron from the rack. "That's a beautiful ring" I uttered while acknowledging the beauty of the diamond ring which sat perfectly on her finger. A smile grew on her lips as she looked at it."Jordan really went all the way out for the engagement" She sighed."I have no idea how much he spent on the ring" "Well, you deserve it" I said to her immediately. "Thanks a lot, Nia" She gazed into my
