Chapter-84

15 years laterAuthor's povHearing the birds chirping, VR woke up from his sleep. Letting out yawning he looked outside through the window. Sudden excitement clouded his mind remembering something. Tomorrow, the police will release him and he can't wait to meet his family. When the warden came to check on the prisoners he requested him to let him bathe and cut his long frizzy hair. Though he doesn't look handsome like before he wants to meet Orni in the most suitable look of him. Getting inside the washroom VR started scrubbing his whole body like a crazy person. He wants to wash away all the filth from his body. He was imagining Orni's reaction and the kids'' reaction. He can't wait to hug the kids who aren't kids anymore. He had seen their photos provided by Akash. He had seen how beautiful and lovely Neela looks while Roman & Rion looks exactly like him when he was young. He asked for Orni's photo multiple times but due to some unknown reasons Akash never showed Orni's photos t

Author's povComing out of the jail VR inhaled the air as much as he could. The blistering Sun rays almost burnt his skin but he didn't feel it was disturbing. Instead, he loves the sun rays on his skin. After 15 years he was inhaling oxygen freely. A proud and affectionate smile formed at the corner of VR's lips seeing Neela on the billboard. He felt his eyes getting teary looking at Neela's face that is similar to Niyati's. Neela is not only one of the youngest talented artists but also a popular model. " My daughter!! I am so proud of you," VR said wiping away the tears from his eyes. The first person he wants to meet is none other than Neela. His daughter. He can't explain in words how much he had craved to see her, hear her voice and hug her affectionately. Taking Neela's present address from Akash VR started his journey there. The whole journey of him went wondering about Neela's reaction. She might have forgotten him but he will remind her about him. He just hopes Shivansh

Author's pov" You didn't keep your promise," VR told Orni who was standing like a robot having a blank expression on her face. Orni frowned her brows when VR grabbed her shoulder tightly. She looked at his eyes which were teary. Except for the immense pain in his eyes, she didn't see anything. " 15 years!! For the last 15 years, I was alive just with the hope that you will accept me back. I admit that I deserve those punishments but how could you break me like that!! You promised that you will never marry another man. You will wait for me. But, in the end, what did you do? Why?" VR's heart-wrenching voice echoed through the whole place but Orni remained silent. He asked shaking her aggressively," Why are you silent now?"" Did you keep your promises? Then, how could you expect me to keep your rubbish promise," Finally, Orni spoke out with the same intensity.Pushing him away from her she warned him," Next time you touch me with your filthy hands. You lose them. I am not your prope

Epilogue

VR's povComing out of my room I found choti ma ordering the maids to clean the house and change all the bed sheets and pillow covers. Today is Diwali and there was a festive vibe in the whole house. Choti ma is looking so happy today. Why won't she? After all her daughter and son-in-law are coming to celebrate with her. That's where my heart aches. One part of mine is happy that I will get to see Orni and the boys. Along with Neela. Shivansh and Niyati are invited too. Another part of mine will be shattered seeing Orni with her husband. It feels terrible whenever I see her with that man. I deserve all this. That's my punishment for ruining her life. She deserves all the happiness. I tried a lot to make her fall in love with me again but perhaps I forgot that love can't be forced. And, the way I disrespected her parents. It's my luck that even after all this Choti ma allowed me to live with her. Mr Patel doesn't seem happy because of my presence but looking at choti ma he doesn't sa

She replied," Coming, Ma."Entering the dining space she found her father already seated at the breakfast table with her sons. Both of them were wearing school uniforms and looking adorable. They smiled at her while munching on their toasts. She took a seat beside them while patting their heads affectionately." Eat properly, Orni. Look how much weight you have lost," Sanjay said serving toast and poached egg on Orni's plate. Orni took a look at herself and indeed she has lost weight. She was looking different than before specifically her eyes and skin

Because of you, she is now struggling for her life."Shivansh was ready to punch VR for the third time but a constable stopped him. Gritting his teeth Shivnash controlled his anger somehow. His hands were itching to beat the hell out of VR for whatever he did to Orni. When Akash informed Shivansh that VR wants to meet him, he agreed without any fuss because he wanted to confront VR again. He wanted to ask VR what Orni did to him that he abused her like she was some kind of animal. How could someone be that heartless to harm an innocent soul like Orni." What wrong she did to you, huh!" Shivansh screamed. " Because of you she is now in death bed." VR lowered his eyes due to shame. He regretted whatever he did to her. He wished he could go back in time and fix everythi

Mumma, I will be praying for you to God," Roman hugged his mother tightly.Orni kissed his forehead," My sweet baccha(baby)."" Mumma, Please come back soon," Rion requested her. Orni smiled," I have faced worst than this."Shivansh's face got clouded with sudden sadness. He knew what she meant. Having an awkward smile he caressed the back of her hand. Three years laterAuthor's pov" Mumma, this is so good," Rion said taking a bite from his burger. " Can I have another one, please?" he requested. Orni denied," No. We are going to have veggies and rice at home. Fast foods are not good for our health." She tried to convince him. Making a sad face he diverted his concentration on his burger. He doesn't know why his mother is so strict about their diets. She doesn't let them eat all those tasty street foods and fast foods. He doesn't know what is wrong with eating such food. Orni diverted her eyes at Roman who was eating his fries silently. She noticed him watching somewhere else. His concentration was somewhere else. She followed his eyes. Her eyes got stuck on a family. She noticed a pair of twin boys with their parents. Orni noticed how Roman was looking at the father with his sad longing eyes. The way that father was treating his sons with so much affection, Roman wished his father was with them. " Mumma, are all the fathers g

Author's pov" This is impossible. I can't let him stay with you," Srilekha yelled at Orni.Sanjay rubbed his forehead," I can't believe even after all these years you couldn't forget him." A few moments ago Orni's parents returned him. It isn't necessary to describe what kind of shock they got after seeing VR in the house. Apart from shock, they were angry at Orni for letting a criminal enter the house. " I can't even breathe the same air as him. He reminds me of Indrajit," Srilekha made a foul face while taking Indrajit's name. Orni snapped at her mother," Don't compare him with Indrajit, Ma. Indrajit never felt remorse for whatever he did. He didn't suffer enough for his sins."" But, Vijendra is not like his father. He didn't deny that he committed many heinous sins. He accepted his punishment. He did every single thing to earn my forgiveness. He saved my life when I was struggling in the hospital bed," Orni's facial expression turned emotional. Srilekha reminded Orni," You ki
