THERESSA’S POVThe world looks strangely normal for a morning that feels anything but.The sky is soft with a pale tint, the kind that makes everything seem gentler than it really is. My breath makes a thin cloud in the cool air as I walk out of my house—quiet, careful, pretending I’m calm. But the way my heartbeat stirs the second I see him makes the truth unmistakable.Lyon is already waiting. He stands near his motorcycle, back straight, arms folded loosely across his chest. The early light catches in his hair and traces the line of his jaw, but what pulls me in is the steady way his eyes find me the moment I step outside—as if he’d been watching for me long before I opened the door.He doesn’t smile. He never does. But something about the way he looks at me… feels like a smile stretched inside his chest, subtle and quiet. And somehow, I feel it more than I would’ve felt an actual one.“Morning,” he says. His voice is low, calm, carrying a warmth that’s gentle but deliberate—like h

THERESSA’S POVSleep doesn’t come easily.Every time I close my eyes, I keep seeing Lyon’s face in the glow of the streetlights—his expression sharp and protective, the tension in his shoulders, the way his hand wrapped around mine with careful certainty. It lingers like a memory stitched onto my skin, something warm and terrifying at the same time. And that shadow he sensed…That unsettles me more than I want to admit.By the time I drift off, dawn is already bleeding through the curtains. When I wake, sunlight has filled my room with soft golden light—but it doesn’t stop the strange chill lingering in my chest. I sit up slowly, pressing a palm to my heart as if that will steady the uneven rhythm beneath it.Today feels different. Not bad.Not dangerous.Just… heavy.Like the moment before a storm chooses where to break.I take longer than usual getting ready. My mind keeps wandering—back to the hallway, to his voice, to the way he said someone unfamiliar with a tone that made my bon

THERESSA’S POVThere’s a certain heaviness that follows you after an argument—like the echo of a slammed door that keeps ringing long after the sound is gone. That’s what I feel for the rest of the day. Even hours after Brian disappeared down the hallway, the tension clings to me, coiling behind my ribs like something I can’t quite shake off.Maybe it’s the way he looked at me.Maybe it’s the way Lyon looked at him.Maybe it’s the knowledge that things are no longer simmering—they’re boiling.By the time the final bell rings, my nerves feel frayed, stretched to a thin thread.Students spill out of classrooms, their voices bouncing through the hallways. Everything feels louder today—every laugh, every shoe scraping the floor, every locker slamming shut. I close my notebook and take a slow breath before stepping outside, hoping the cold air will settle my mind a little.Instead, it just makes everything too clear.Too sharp.Too real.I’m halfway down the stairs when I see him.Lyon.St

Theressa's POVMorning should feel safe. There’s sunlight slipping through my curtains. There’s the sound of someone sweeping in the neighbor’s yard. There’s the faint smell of coffee drifting from downstairs. Everything looks and sounds normal—utterly, peacefully normal. Then why does my chest feel like something heavy is sitting on it?I sit upright slowly, blinking away the remnants of sleep. My room is quiet. My house is quiet. But my thoughts… aren’t.The photo Lyon showed me last night keeps replaying in my mind, slicing through the illusion of safety I’ve clung to for so long. The angle. The distance. The absolute silence of it.Someone was there.Watching me.Close enough to capture my walk home like I was the prey in some twisted hunt.I rub my arms, trying to chase away the chill creeping through me.This isn’t just school drama anymore. This isn’t just Brian or whispers or rumors. This is something else.Something bigger.Something I don’t understand enough to fear properly

THERESSA’S POVThere’s a heaviness in the air tonight that refuses to settle.I feel it while I’m washing my hands in the bathroom. I feel it while staring at my reflection—eyes tired, hair messy from the helmet, skin still humming with the leftover warmth of Lyon’s touch. I feel it most when I turn off every light in my room except the small lamp on my desk. It’s the same heaviness from the last few days—but sharper now. More direct. More… aware.Like something is watching.I sit on my bed, knees pulled to my chest, phone resting on the blanket beside me. Half the screen is filled with texts from Delilah asking if I’m alive. The other half holds Lyon’s last message from thirty minutes ago.I’m close. Finish dinner. I’ll be there soon.Just reading it steadies my breathing. Not because I want to rely on him.Not because I want to need him.But because I don’t know how to feel safe tonight without him here.I lean my head back against the wall, exhaling slowly. The house is silent. My
