Ch. 31: Your Mom
Davis' P.O.V."Iz, what gives? You knew I was coming home." I asked her as I sat on the couch. My leg was throbbing so bad as a consequence of walking on it before it was ready. "Yeah, and?" She crossed her arms, sitting on the arm of the couch instead of the cushion. "What's wrong? This isn't about that kid." I pointed towards the kitchen where that bastard had gone. I still have half a mind to punch him. "Neal," she corrected me with a roll of her eyes. "Look, I just wanted to fool around. You're doing it, so why can't I?" And there it is. Her excuse. That's not what's really wrong."I'm not fooling around Izzy. I love Lisa, a hell of a lot. It's been a very long time since I felt this way about someone. Since your mother, really. Your mom was everything to me, you know that. It's part of the reason I lost myself, and you, when she died," I admitted to her, remembering the turmoil Grace's death caused. Izzy lowered her gaze, staring at my feet now. Those green eyes were identica

Ch. 32: Is Daniel Home?
Lisa’s P.O.V.Dad: You can’t keep ignoring me, Lisa. I am coming for you and your brother full force, unless I hear from you today.Dad’s text had caused me to go pale. Davis was at a doctor’s appointment that Carter took him to. I was sitting at Davis’ house alone and utterly frightened at the prospect of Dad coming for me. My fingers hovered over my phone, deciding whether to text dad back when the front door opened. I jumped, frightened that it was him and he had found me. My nerves were shot and adrenaline was pumping through me like a raging river, but I was ready to attack whoever crossed the threshold. I met her concerned green eyes as she stepped through, feeling myself slump with exhaustion as the sudden rush of adrenaline caused me to crash. Izzy sported her hair in a braid similar to her dad's, today. She wore a black crop top with a black choker and smokey eyed makeup. Those pink, full lips of hers frowned as she looked at me further. Her thick leather biker boots thumped

Ch 33: Izzy The Teacher?
Lisa's P.O.V."What were you thinking? You two could have gotten hurt!" Davis scolded us, standing before us as we sat on the couch with our heads bowed. I felt like a small child being scolded by her father. Izzy and I weren't looking down because we felt bad. On the contrary, we were looking down because we couldn't help the stupid smirks on our faces. We had bonded, and it was fucking spectacular. Izzy helped me feel powerful again, strong, like the old me. The me I was before I'd been abused by two boyfriends and belittled by my father further. “Izzy, you know better! I’ve taught you better than to go out looking for trouble.” Davis was hobbling around in front of us. His leg was probably really hurting him, but he didn’t seem to care as he paced before us. He was really mad, and I was feeling bad for worrying him so much. I have to remember that he’s been through something no one should ever have to endure, and thinking of us in danger probably really scared him. When a man is

Ch. 34: Face The Monster.
Lisa's P.O.V.Feeling empowered by Izzy, and the beat down we gave Daniel, I decided to text dad. My fingers shook as I typed the message, but I was determined. I pushed my fear back as far as I could. I will face the monster today, before Davis does. Maybe I can appease him somehow, although I highly doubt it. Lisa: If you want to talk, I will come to your office in an hour.I felt my heart race with anticipation. I was nervous and scared of what he would say, but really I was more afraid of seeing him. Today, I won't let that fear consume me. I will give it five seconds and once that 5th second is up I will push it aside. Dad, who?: Come now. Seeing the name I had changed his contact to, made me smile. He's not a Dad, at least not mine anymore. He's a sick man with a twisted mind and little to no regard for his family. His ambition has clouded his mind so much that he can't even recognize himself. L

Ch. 35: Deep Inside
Davis' P.O.V. "Did she find it yet?" Derek's voice echoed around the empty room. "She did," I answered him, feeling so proud of my Lisa. She had managed to sneak into her father's office while he was meeting with the Darnell's and found the ledger. She had taken as many pictures as she could. I couldn't believe it when I got them all. I of course scolded her for going alone, but she had a point when she said it would be too obvious if I had gone with her. "Perfect. Anybody we know on there?" I knew Derek was asking about our friends. Had any of them gone dirty over the years. I was happy to see that I didn't know a single name on that list personally, although I have heard of a few in passing. "Not any of our friends, Derek. They've stayed good and true. Real boys in blue." "Good, send me the list and I'll start working on it." "You got it! Oh and Derek?" "Yeah?" "Tell me when you're going for him. I want to be there." "Gladly." With that, the line cut off. He nev

Ch. 36: Love Me
Lisa's P.O.V.I had decided to surprise Davis with one of my sexier lingeries. I never expected it to be torn down the middle, but God, was is sexy as fuck. My body still echoed with the ecstacy that Davis had just brought me. I am not sure what came over me, but I had wanted to feel his power in a new way. My body craved to feel him as deep inside of me as possible. Davis was quick to oblige, giving me more than I thought I could take. It was heaven on earth. He was making good on his promise too, as he still hadn't pulled out of me. Instead, he wrapped me in his warm embrace and rubbed my back lightly over the thin soft material of my lingerie. "I love you, Lisa." The look he gave me melted me inside and out. His eyes stared at me so lovingly, so intently, that I thought my heart would burst. There was no doubt in my mind that this man was entirely mine, and I his. We held each other's hearts, and I couldn't ask for a better man to love. "I love you, too." I traced small circles

Ch. 37: Birth Control
Lisa's P.O.V.I racked my brain for a good 20 minutes, trying to recall if I had taken my birth control every day this week. I began to worry as I clearly remember having one extra pill in my pack than I should at this time. My mind began to race with worry. I guess now's a good a time as any to ask Davis about future children. "Hey, my viking man, quick question," I called to him from the bathroom. This was the first time since he arrived home that he had not been inside me. I felt so sore, but I didn't mind, wanting him back as soon as possible. "Yes?" He sounded amused as he answered. I could just picture the smirk on his face. "Do you want more kids?" Silence, complete and utter silence. I found him standing by the door as I opened it. He had a large grin on his face, grabbing me and throwing me over his shoulder. I yelled in surprise, but did not fight or complain. He threw me down on the bed, sliding into me again with a quick thrust. The rapidness in which he humped me mad

Ch. 38: Bad News Only Gets Worse
Lisa's P.O.V.I was still laying in bed thinking about Lucas and the bad news he shared with us this afternoon. My feelings were all over the place and so were Davis’. It was eating away at him that he couldn't do anything to help her. This wasn't something he could hunt down and fight for her, leaving him with a restless energy. It was leaving both of us that way, really. "Let's go," Davis randomly said, hopping off the bed and pulling on some sweatpants. "What? Where?" "We need to work through this energy, so now's the best time to train." I understood what he meant, hopping off the bed and getting dressed myself. We went down to the basement and trained until our bodies were drained of all of our energy. Davis then picked me up and carried me to the room. Letting me fall asleep in his arms, utterly exhausted. My phone buzzed incessantly, waking me from my deep sleep. The room was pitch black, so I knew morning hadn’t come to greet us quite yet. There were a million notificatio

Ch. 39: Dark Connections
Davis’ P.O.V.“What are we doing here, Davis?” Frank was the first in the group to speak. There’s never been a time I have seen him intimidated, not even now in a room full of criminals and large men with even larger muscles. He had buzzed his black hair down for the summer, barley leaving any on his scalp. It only added to his tough demeanor as he crossed his arms, scanning the room with nothing more than destent. “I need a favor. Quite a few favors, actually. I am calling in what I’m owed.” “Must be pretty big for all of us to be called here,” he mused, gesturing with his head around the room. “Each of you has a specific set of skills that I need. Starting with you, Frank.” “I’m all ears, Dave,” he smirked at me, using my least liked nickname. He was trying to get under my skin like old times. The man was annoying as hell, but the only one I knew to be able to hack into any security system around without getting caught. “I need you to hack into Porter’s business building secur

Ch. 40: Enter The Lion's Den
Lisa’s P.O.V.My heart was racing, but for once it wasn't because I was scared. Nervous? Yes. Scared? Not ever again, not for them. I knocked on the red door, greeted by Chris' younger brother. Why is he always answering the door? I really need to learn his name. "Welcome to hell," he showed his youth as he spoke, stepping aside for me to enter. It was a nervous sort of dark humor he had. "He said you were coming but I didn't believe it. Why are you here again?" "Reasons." I don't know him well enough to trust him with my true intentions. He helped us last time, but that could have been because he just wanted someone to beat his dad up for him. I guess we'll see how he really is during this dinner. "Reasons, sounds suspicious. I hope it's what I think it is." I stared at him from the corner of my eye, watching him carefully. I recognized the mask he had placed on his face. It was the same one I would wear when I lived with dad. This place really is hell for him. Poor kid. "And
