Chapter 61
Arianna: I watched as Dean stopped in front of a room for a second. I could tell that it was his sister’s. The man’s expression gave him out easily anyway. His eyes were fixed on the door for a few seconds before he sighed and shook his head at me. “You should know that you having this effect on me is not something that I like.” “She is your sister, and me having that effect on you only means that your subconscious is awake and alive. You are not dead inside, and that is something that is very important.” I said, giving him a gentle smile. “I am going to be downstairs while you speak to her. I believe that you can use the time to at least make things right between the two of you.” I walked toward the stairs and nodded as I saw Viktor standing in front of me. He returned the nod and watched as I walked down, taking a step away from me as he did. I could tell that he was curious about what Dean would be doing; however, he didn’t comment for a few seconds before he followed me down t

Chapter 62
Dean: “What are you here for this time?” My sister asked, without looking at me, not bothering to get up from the couch that she was sitting on. Her back faced me, and I had to fight back letting out a low growl at her attitude as I kept Arianna’s words in mind. Her heart raced against her chest, and I could tell that she was worried about the outcome of her attitude, my own quietness, and everything that had happened. However, I knew that I wasn’t going to anger her. I had a mate that I still had to win over and the last thing that I wanted or needed was to drive her away from me because I was choosing to be stubborn. Maybe she was the voice of conscience that I needed, or maybe it was just how things were supposed to be. She was the emotional part, the softer one, the more gentle, and I the emotionless, the demon who knew the difference between right and wrong with no remorse needed. Regardless of the fact, I was just thankful for the way that she spoke to me. “The door will be

Arianna: I had to force myself to control my anger as Dean entered the dining room. His eyes met mine and I smiled as he walked toward me. I frowned at the sight of the glass in his hand only to smell the napellus flower, in other words, wolfsbane. Dean shook his head at me and I nodded before my eyes caught sight of Irina walking down the stairs. Her eyes met mine for a second before she looked down at her feet, avoiding my eyes before her mother approached her. “Irina?” She called softly. Irina didn’t respond for a few seconds before she wrapped her arms around her mother, hugging her tightly. I stayed quiet and looked down at my feet as I avoided looking at the women. “I missed you, mama.” She said, her voice above a whisper as she spoke to her mother. Sofia stayed quiet as she hugged her daughter tightly, and it wasn’t until both of them pulled away to look one another in the eye that the woman seemed to react as she wiped her daughter’s tears. “I missed you too, little o

Dean: I kept my eyes on Arianna, waiting for her response before she turned to face me. Her naked skin touched mine as she laid on top of me, and though I knew that taking a shower before bed was needed, the two of us often found it somewhat pleasing to lay in one another’s arms as we spoke. “The main question is, would you want to do so?” She asked, shaking her head. “Please don’t get me wrong, but I know that you would have wanted to kill me for what I did.” “Why would you think that?” I asked, and she smiled. “You know exactly why, Dean.” She said, her voice softening for a second before leaning in to connect her lips with mine. “For what it is worth, and to answer your question, I would love to be your mate, truly your mate. But I know that the two of us need to cross so many things before that happens, and though it hurts to some extent, I know that I have to be patient. Plus, there is the fact that my own pack members would either be looking for me, or know of what happened

Chapter 65
Arianna: I woke up to a kiss on my forehead. I opened my eyes to find Dean smiling down at me as he wore his suit. I didn’t even know when he got up or when he got ready, but I can tell that he has been up for a while now. “Morning, malyshka,” he said softly. “Good morning.” I said, putting a hand on my growing stomach. It has been a month since I started staying here, and throughout this month, the Alpha and I seemed to be growing a lot closer. The way his eyes met mine enticed me sometimes, and I knew that the closer we got, the more attached I became. The one person who I have done my best to avoid, based on Dean’s request, was his sister. The man who has been avoiding me though, was the one man that I wanted to speak to. Lyov, Viktor’s father. The two of us would encounter one another, but I could tell that the man would get up to physically avoid me. I knew that he didn’t want me asking questions, I wasn’t stupid, but I also knew that I had to know who the man was. Him s

Dean: “Who did it?” I asked, shaking my head at Viktor who pinched the bridge of his nose. The fact that he was actually waiting here when the security team reported him was something that astounded me, and I couldn’t help but find myself growing curious about what this person had in mind. If anything, he didn’t even fight back, at least, as far as I understood. “We still aren’t sure where he came from, but he is not from here.” He said, nodding at the man who was sitting on one of the chairs, tied to it. His eyes met mine and I raised an eyebrow. “Alpha.” He said, and I shook my head at the man, curious about how he had the guts to even speak when he was in such a situation. “I take it that you are wondering who I am.” “You can hear me, idiot. The fact that the two of us were talking right in front of you is proof enough,” “He is a mute, Alpha.” Viktor said, making me frown. “The man understands us by reading our lips, but he doesn’t hear a word that we are saying.” The man

Chapter 67
Arianna: “Luna…” “I believe that I told you that she is no Luna,” Irina said, walking into the living room. I scoffed as I turned to face her, raising an eyebrow at the woman who has been quiet throughout the whole month as her brother was around. “I will get to you in a minute, Sienna,” I said, and the woman nodded before I walked toward Irina. I grabbed her arm and pulled her out of the room, not really bothering to care that she was annoyed or that I caught the attention of those who were initially in the living room. “Who the fuck do you think…?” “What the fuck is your damn problem?” I asked, stopping her. “I saved your damn ass from whatever punishment your brother was going to put you through and yet, nothing, you still choose to be a bloody damn…” “I do not need you to be saving me.” She said, stopping me, “and if you think that you were doing me a favor, then you could try choosing a different game to play.” “You really don’t get it, do you?” I asked, shaking my head a

Dean: I entered the bedroom and smiled when I saw Arianna sitting on the bed, scrolling through her phone. Her eyes met mine for a second before she got up and walked toward me. “Hey,” she said, running her finger over my chest. The pain that I felt as I looked at her, knowing that I was hiding a lot from her, a lot that concerned her, was something that I couldn’t deny. But I also knew the risk of her finding out about what I knew, and it was one that I was not willing to take. “Hi, baby,” I said, smiling at her. She smiled and purred at the nickname. I kissed the crown of her head, and pulled away to look her in the eye. “How are the two of you doing?” “We’re doing well.” She said, making my heart skip a beat as she took my hand in hers. She put it over her swelling stomach, and I couldn’t help but smile as I started hearing the baby’s heartbeat. It was something that we couldn’t do last week, and that was something that I was more than excited about. “And we’re growing a littl

Chapter 69
Arianna: “Morning,” I said, entering the dining room to find Sofia sitting alone. She looked up at me, and I frowned in confusion. “Are you okay?” Though I did expect her to want to urge me to teach me whatever traditions that I had to know here. I was surprised when she barely left her room. The woman was quieter than I expected, especially compared to the first time I met her when we were at the hospital back in Moscow. But I wasn’t blind, maybe everyone didn’t see past it, but I could tell that something was happening, and that it was bothering and hurting her. “I am fine, I am just a little ill.” She said, looking down at the cup of tea that she was drinking. It was ginger tea, and I could see it in her eyes that she was in pain. I walked toward her and sat on the chair, shaking my head in question. Most of the pack was already tending to their things. Dean and I chose to stay back in his room during breakfast, and therefore, ate together out on the veranda. “Sofia, what’s

Chapter 70
Dean: “So, do you want to tell me what you and mom were talking about? Or would I have to drag it out of you?” I asked, wrapping my arms around my mate. The fact that I caught sight of the painkiller with mom was something that I couldn’t drop. However, I knew better than to confront her, and though I did wish that mom didn’t lie to me, I knew very well that she was always one to hide her pain from everyone. “Can’t a girl and your mother talk about shopping without you assuming that something was wrong?” She asked, raising an amused eyebrow at me. I tightened my grip around her waist, and she arched her back gently before I shook my head at her. Her answer alone was enough to tell me that she was well aware of what was going on, and the fact that she was avoiding it was not something that I liked. “The two of us know very well that something is going on. But whatever it is, you are choosing to hide it from me.” I said, and she shook her head. She smiled and put her hands on my shi
