At that moment, Rita was certain that there could never be any greater fool than she. Just how?How could she have allowed her mind drift off without considering Marianna's presence in the penthouse? The house was even kept a secret from Rita by Marianna, yet when her supposed friend didn't question her about her awareness about it, she didn't find it suspicious. Most definitely, Marianna was aware of her evil deeds. Then again, it was absurd how effortlessly she was given out to the police. What kind of friend was Marianna? Never has she asked for an explanation or her standpoint about the entire thing but rushes off to involve the police. She was a betrayer – something Rita had once foreseen yet stupidly denied kt severally. But now, it was unarguable that Marianna wasn't by her side; no one was. Not even her best friend – it was saddening, then again it was better to do things alone. People were only meant to be manipulated in her eyes, and since Marianna had exposed her true

She was the embodiment of hate.A living, breathing being that had hate coursing through the veins of her body instead of blood — beautiful effulgent yet eyes bloodshot; lethal, and outrageously murderous.Michelle was resentment reincarnated, but she was viewed in that manner only in his eyes.Only in the eyes of Derek — he witnessed his once sweet, lively, somewhat credulous Michelle transform into a being that loathed him.He did bring this upon him.Over, and over again his subconscious replayed the scene of Michelle stabbing him with the sole intention of riding him from the Earth. The wistful agony brought the gynecologist back to a state of consciousness.Slowly, his eyelids flew apart, giving way for his droopy teary orbs to behold the view of a ceiling.Derek was finally awake. His body which laid motionlessly on the moderately large bed was heavily bandaged. Both his wrists had narrowed tubes connected to a vein or two yet nothing felt real to him.Owlishly, Derek gawked at

“Every suite in the detached palaces should scream opulent. Do I make myself clear?”His voice dripped utterly with seriousness, and satisfyingly enough, the numerous servants, standing beside one another courtesied in understanding. “Yes, Beta Andrew!”Thereafter, they all dispersed into varying directions, leaving the Alpha King's Beta, Andrew, to refocus on the notepad in his possession. The Nation Summit was drawing closer with each passing second — it was an inevitable event. Alpha King Shawn always tasked his trusted Beta to take care of its arrangement. Such a prominent event was wholly controlled by him, so yes, not even the heart racing, unwanted saga the fortunately deceased Alpha Sebastian caused would disrupt his determination in creating another grand Nation Summit. “We have less than a week? Shit” Andrew parted his eyelashes, which he shut momentarily as a hand went to his hair, disheveling it in frustration. So much time has been taken from him, and it was solely m

73The rowdiness of the Scarlet Heart Palace without an Alpha, unlike any other day, wasn't caused by the servants haste to fulfil an appalling order by Sebastian. Almost every individual was as busy as a worker bee, and ostensibly dishearteningly enough, they were occupied wholly by a wrong reason; they were tidying the bloodied Palace. The brawl between the deceased, and surely won't be missed Alpha Sebastian, and the Alpha King, Shawn was indeed in a bloody one. A significant number of the guards were injured, but none sustained fatal injury. It was truly impressive how the Alpha King controlled his rage while fighting the guards — most would've wasted their lives since they were nothing more but servants. Shawn wasn't that callous — Sebastian was his main target. “Won't you at least wait until the Alpha's funeral's concluded?” Logan, a being once heavily trusted by the dead Alpha, uttered questioningly to the Pack's Delta. Night had befell every part of the Nation, and the w

74It was dawn of the next morning yet none experienced of sleep. As the soft sounds of several vechiles' tyres passed through on the tarred road, and the unceasing balls of rain poured, a shabby cabin, camouflaged so perfectly by shrubs wasn't spared a glance. Rita loved it. The cabin housed two things - two rocky, aged and ass stinging chairs. Numerous webs designed expertly by spiders, and dust served as decorations. There was no furniture, and the kitchen, untouched for heaven's know when wasn't approached. Lethal reptails might be residing there so Derek and Rita spent the reminders of last night, and the early hours of the day staring at each other. Well, the she-wolf focused on the little hand mirror in her possession throughout a greater part of the hours shared. She doesn't want to speak to Derek.. yet. And the runaway gynecologist had zero interests in talking with Rita - she was sick. Her instructions which Sebastian stupidly complied to nearly led to Michelle's death

75The soft repeated pelting of raindrops on the rooftop provided such a serene atmosphere — Michelle was so reluctant to awaken. Here in the Alpha King's chamber, and on his freakishly large bed, she laid, sleeping soundly. There was a slight redness of her eyes, but compared to last night, this was nothing. Then, her eyes were overly puffy and reddened — it wasn't unexpected since she cried bitterly for so many hours. Still, it felt… Nice. Mira's death was unforgettable — she was more than a friend, and a sister combined. The fact that she left this Earth due to murder was overly heartbreaking. Yet… It had happened, and regardless of how heart shattering it was, Michelle had to move on. There certainly was more to life, but her murderer would… No, must be brought to justice. “Shawn…” A sleepy mutter erupted from her lips as her hand unconsciously roamed on the bed. Her mate's side was verily cold, and that prompted her into waking up. Michelle's widened eyes quickly raked th

76“Oh… So he left? I feel so sorry for him” Those words erupted from her lips in a saddened sulk. Michelle could be seen with Shawn. The couple mentally yet individually concluded to spend every single minute of the day together. Not just a day but each one of their lives. An event, one the Alpha King noiselessly has been working on, was going to cement their lifelong relationship. It was just a matter of time. His study was a room that Andrew, his right-hand man, and Beta was banned from entering unless it was an emergency. But regarding Michelle, his pregnant human mate has access to everything and anything in his life. While Shawn seated on a chair as he partially focused on the scroll in his possession, seating on the desk closely was Michelle. A bowl of diced fruits was in her hands, and as she ate slowly yet elegantly from it, she threw subtle questions at him concerning a death — Mira's death. She truly was trying to move from it, and an answer to one of her questions

“You're… Getting teary-eyed” The instant she averted her gaze from the busy sidewalks to her side, she beheld a pair of glassy dark eyes. They belonged to none other than an obviously emotional black witch — Raven.Michelle was flabbergasted at the sight in front of her, and Raven began chuckling, trying to drive off the awkwardness in the air.“Am I? I didn't notice” She lifted her hands to her face, and in an attempt to retain the threatening tears from dropping, she rubbed her eyes hard.“Raven…” Michelle quickly brought out a handkerchief from her purse then reached for her face. “You need to stop crying” Tenderly, the human wiped off the tears trailing gradually down the witch's face. The two ladies could be seen in the back of an SUV belonging to the Alpha King, and also Michelle's mate, Shawn.Noon was fast approaching, and the rain had ceased in its light showers. Since her mate was preoccupied by his beta, Andrew, she sought for Raven and fortunately found her preparing to le

78“Is something wrong, Your Majesty?” Andrew, as observant as always was quick to notice the abrupt shift of the Alpha King's mood the moment that particular scroll was handed to him. The day was drawing closer to night, and regardless of the gray clouds shielding the sun, some persistant rays seeped past them and showered on the Pack's populace. The Nation Summit mandated a lot from every indiviual in the Royal Palace but demanded the Alpha and his beta's undiluted and unbridled attention. With the shitty Alpha Sebastian dead, Shawn surely had to resume fully in his roles on the Summit's preparation. After his dear pregant mate and inevitable Luna snuck off knowingly with Raven - the loved dark witch, he and Andrew remained in his study and ever since, drowned themselves in a sea of work. At the sides of his table were rolled up scrolls - stacked on top of the other and multiple used feathered pen. Exhaustion and fatigue roamed through both's eyes but after Shawn picked up a pa

Chapter 79“I'm so happy I'm home and I've missed this place, can't wait to help out” Rita said looking at Derrick who seemed to be uninterested and irritated by her presence.“You sincerely do not have to pretend, it's just two of us here” Derrick said with a pinch of disgust lingering on his facial expression.“Look grumpy, we have a common interest. I want Shawn and you want Rita, that's why we are working together. So we had better learn to tolerate each other, you'll have time tolerate my beautiful behavior and I'll have to deal with your bad character”Even though he wanted to drag Rita's hair from her head, unfortunately she was right.“You are right, we'll have to secure our plans so I can never see you again” Derrick said walking away.Rita scoffed and said “not like seeing you adds anything to my day”.******Shawn’s pocThe palace seems to be a bit gloomy since Michelle came back with tears in her eyes.“shawn she has to go, Rita has to die she has done enough, the fact th
