Sebastian watches his world in slow motion. The nurses move to clear the space. The surgeon drops his instruments on the floor. The sound of the metal hitting the tile echos in Sebastian’s ear as the surgeon reaches into Temperances chest. The machines all buzz and Sebastian witnesses the heroic measures everyone attempts but in the end, its the end. Sebastian grabs his neck and falls to him knees. Zachary hears the scream in pain from his stepson and runs toward it. After five minutes its over. Sebastian passes out from the shock. The doctor comes out and looks at Zachary and Sebastian huddled together. The Doctor looks at Sebastian and back at Temperance several times. “Alpha his mark is not gone,” the doctor and Zachary move Sebastian into the room with Temperance and the doctor closes the door. “How is this possible?” Zachary asks. “She must not be dead,” the doctor speaks slowly looking at Temperance. Both the doctor stare into her open chest. Her heart is still. “Come o

Sebastian feels Temperance move against him and wakes up.“Baby, are you hurting, do you need anything?” Sebastian asks.“I’m hot,” Temperance mumbles.“Oh, sorry.” Sebastian releases her and adjusts the AC in the room.Temperance is breathing heavy and sweating. Sebastian calls the doctor and puts pants on.When the doctor gets there, he has his bag and several medications.“What are you giving her, Doc?” Sebastian asks.“Nothing until I know what is happening,” the doctor does an exam. “Her chest wound has healed. That is good. Her wolf is trying, but still struggling. Alpha, I want to give you an antibiotic feed help fight infections, and I want to give pain medication to help your human half rest.”“No, they might hurt my baby,” Temperance tells him.“I understand, but if I don’t help your wolf, we could lose you both,” The doctor explains.Sebastian inhales sharply.“Cam said we may have to choose, but not yet,” Temperance looks about to tears.“Baby, look at me,” Sebastian tells

Sebastian returns to Temperance, his parents with him.Temperance pretends to be asleep, scenting her parents.“Baby, Lucius, Mora, Kent, and Layla are dead,” Sebastian tells her, before helping her sit up. “Jasper is gone.”Temperance sits up. “So, we are ready to tell the world I’m alive?”“No,” Sebastian says. “I want him to make a move. I’m hoping it's after the baby is born.”“Seb, you want me to stay locked up here for 5 months?” Temperance asks.“As we know who we can trust, we can start softening the ground for your return,” Janice tells her. “But I agree, we should keep you hidden until you are delivered.”Temperance looks at the only window in her room. Her only portal to the outside for next five months.“How are we going to explain Sebastian not going crazy?” Temperance asks.“Oh, I’m going crazy,” Sebastian smirks. “I’m a lunatic according to what the pack just saw.”“Learner is willing to say he is crazy,” Zachary tells them. “I think we need to trust him.”“I agree,” Se

“I want you with Sandra,” Sebastian says.“The point of all this is to show myself to Jasper,” Temperance argues.“And you will. Once he attacks, we will arrest and detain him. Your Dad will take over his rogues and pack. Then at his trial...”“Fuck a trial,” Temperance interrupts. “We kill him and his whore in battle.”“He won’t bring his Luna to the battle,” Sebastian rolls his eyes. “I have eight of our best female warriors going after her.”“So, she will die?” Temperance asks.“Yes,” Sebastian grazes her cheek with his fingers. “Temperance please, Terry needs you more than he needs me. And Sandra needs to be protected. You are not only the best warrior, but you are a mother.”“Stop,” Temperance holds up her hand. “I am Alpha, and you are Beta.
