Chapter 61
AMELIA Tyson didn’t ask me anything. It was not like he even had the time to investigate me. He had to leave for the North and get there before the people from the South ended the discussion. He was reluctant to leave me behind so I didn’t have any other choice than to get inside a carriage that was awaiting me. It was a poor choice, given that we could have gotten there sooner if I could just ride a horse but I didn’t say anything to Tyson. However, I was getting annoyed now. Instead of leaving me behind like he did before, he was moving at the snail speed with me. I opened the small window of the carriage and peeked out. Tyson turned his head to give me a questioning look. “ Are you not worried that you will be too late, Your Highness? ” My gaze roamed around and took notice of the other warriors before settling on him again. “ Why does it matter to you? You should just stay inside and enjoy your journey. ” Tyson’s sparkled as he told me. I sighed, barely holding myself back

TYSON You don’t feel anything for me. I recalled her words and almost rolled my eyes. How dense did one have to be to believe that? Why else did she think I was like this to her? Why was I always pushing my limits and giving her huge margins everywhere if I didn’t feel anything? But…I would never mention it to her. The feelings didn’t need to be addressed. It would only complicate things if I tried. “ We still don’t know about my mother’s role in the South. Is it really a good idea for me to be around the people from there? ” She asked, keeping her head resting on my chest and snuggling in as if I were her safe haven. The audacity of this girl was beyond my understanding but I liked how she was all over me all the time. “ That’s why you won’t be around them. ” I directed my gaze to the steep I could see ahead of me. “ What do you mean? ” She hummed. “ When we get there, someone will come to take you to your room. You need to go there and stay inside unless I tell you to come

Chapter 63
TYSON “ Usurping a throne as you put it, involves getting rid of anyone who poses a threat to your reign. ” One of them started in an emotionless voice. “ Is that why the new King slaughtered the powerful opponents from his family and locked up the rest? ” Dustin smirked. I had to resist the urge to poke him until I knew what he knew. It was so fucking creepy that he was always aware of everything going on in the Three—no—Four Kingdoms. The other two men looked equally surprised. They must be wondering about the same question. How the fuck did he know? “ Who does he want me to find? ” Dustin switched back to the query at hand. “ Some years ago, a woman escaped the South. King Mason, who was the King at that time refrained from launching a full search for her because he didn’t want to start any war with the other Kingdoms. After some time passed, her family sensed their bond breaking. She died or was killed. ” The one with the darker shade of grey in his eyes told Dustin. “ Yo

TYSON “ Amelia? ” I patted her cheek. Worry etched between my brows, giving away her importance to me. “ You knew her all along. ” They were still talking nonstop but here I was, only focused on the girl who was unconscious in my arms. “ Call the healer, Dustin. ” I hissed without sparing anyone a glance. “ Take her to the room. ” He replied instantly. I picked her up in my arms. Her head dropped on my shoulder. I stiffened when I noticed how cold she was getting. I had not seen something like this before, so I didn’t know what was wrong. And this was more worrisome. “ Do you really think we will let her out of our sight, King Dustin? ” Coburn scoffed. “ she is coming with us. Once we bring her back to the South, our King will decide her fate and he will be the one to decide if he wants to establish peace between us or not. ” My eyes left Amelia’s face which was turning pale and glared at the man who proudly stood in front of us. “ Try it. ” I warned. Their eyes snapped to me,

AMELIA“ His Highness wants you in the throne room right now. ” When the maid said that to me and rushed me there, I should have known something was terribly wrong.Dustin wouldn’t call me to a place where he was having a secret meeting anyway. That’s what clouded my judgement and I entered the space. One look at Tyson and I knew what was wrong. Without giving it much thought, I had reached out to him and the next moment I found myself dissociating from my surroundings. I infiltrated a dark place. I was not seeing any memories, nor was I consciously attempting something with him.I was trapped. In the complete darkness and deafening silence. “ A mind is a strange place for people like us. If we do something wrong, we get trapped inside the endless maze. ” A chilling voice said, nearing me.I turned around to find a man standing there. He had a lighter shade of hair than black—a charcoal color. And sharp green eyes that had a speck of the brightest shade of blue and golden in them. Th

AMELIAFor a moment, I was shocked as I thought he might have seen me. But then, I noticed the fleeting look in his eyes as he stared at his own reflection. The surface of his eyes became glassy before he forced a smile up his lips. “ let’s try one more time. Let’s be kind today, Tyson. ”I couldn’t feel my heart in my chest, but it was still breaking. He shook his head and looked down at his sleeves. His eyes left the reflection, leaving me aching to reach out and touch him.I didn’t have the time to act on that urge because I was being carried away once more. I was in the royal dining room. The aroma of different dishes filled the air while the three people sat in the corner of the big table. The King sat on the head chair, Eliana sat to his right and Tyson to the left. Thick, uncomfortable silence filled the space.“ They will be coming here. They will live with us from now on. ” King Fenric broke that silence and looked at Eliana. I could tell he was talking about his other wom

AMELIA “ I will kill her. ” He repeated, the resolve solidifying. “ Tyson. ” I yelled, but he didn’t hear. The rapid motion continued, dragging me along without my consent. This time, it was the Eastcain Citadel’s ground where Dad was initiated as the General of the Army. He had forced me to attend and my younger self sat on the front row. Adelia was sitting beside me, beaming at Dad as King Fenric gave him the sword of the General. My focus shifted to the Prince who stood in the corner, hidden from everyone, like a shadow blending into the dark of the night. His blazing eyes were on me, watching me with an intensity I couldn’t ignore. “ Do you want to know what he is thinking? ” Levian came to stand beside me. “ He wants to kill me. ” I mumbled. “ Did you see him in the shadows that day? ” He asked. “ No. ” I think, I was crying but couldn’t sense it. However, I wanted to. I wanted to cry until this world melted with my tears or at least became blurred for me. “ He saw you

TYSON“ Why did you two feel the need to not tell us anything? ” Striker scoffed, sulking beside Lenora who was glaring at Dustin. For some reason, Dustin thought telling them about what happened in the throne room four days ago was a good idea. They responded to that information by coming from the West right away to make my headache worse. “ If you were here, you would have gotten involved in the little stunt Tyson pulled on the men from the South. ” Dustin shrugged, smiling at Lenora softly. The bastard had a thing for my sister who was mated to our best friend. He couldn’t hide it under all the layers of masks he wore. His love for her was the only sincere thing about him, yet, he couldn’t get her.“ Tyson. ” Lenora sighed, shifting her focus to me.I was standing beside the window, my back agaisnt the wall, and my face scrunching. Amelia had been unconscious for the past few days. All efforts to wake her up had gone in vain. And that healer kept saying she was alright. It was not

AMELIAHeat flowed in my veins. My struggles continued but he was not letting me go.It hurt.“ I need to do this.” Tyson groaned in my ear before he bit my neck again.I screamed, my voice hoarse and my eyes squeezed shut. I wanted to open them and see him, to know what he was doing to me to make it feel like this but I was too weak for that. My limbs were moving on their own. I had no control over them. My panic grew and so did the fiery sensation.Tyson’s mouth separated from my neck, leaving me writhing and still screaming painfully.“ Why the fuck is this taking so long? ” He sounded more panicked than me.I was on fire. There was no other explanation for this.“ I will have to do it. ” His ragged breaths scorched the shell of my ear.I opened my mouth to say his name but all that escaped my throat was another scream.“ Can you hear me? ” Tyson whispered and lowered his warm hands to my hips.I attempted to nod but only managed to move an inch.“ For fuck’s sake, tell me you kno

TYSON Seeing my mark on her neck was surreal. But it saved her life. I brushed her sweaty bangs off her forehead before getting up from the bed. She fell unconscious after I succeeded so I cleaned her body and waited for her to open her eyes again. There was no denying she would be ecstatic about it. But I didn’t know how I was supposed to feel. I slipped and told her I didn’t want to be alone, yet I had no idea how she would react to that pathetic confession after waking up. I exhaled a deep breath and walked out of the room. She would have to do without me for a while. I didn’t want to face her right now. Dustin stood in the way, staring at the floor. My brows knitted together as I halted at some distance from him and leaned against the wall. “ Were you waiting for me? ” I wondered, averting my gaze to the other side of the corridor. My mind diverted to Amelia’s scent on me and I visibly cringed. “ It was destined to happen. ” Dustin spoke, his voice low and calm. “ Werewolv
