Jared wasn't just Robert's best friend; he was also like his right-hand man for everything, one of his most relied-upon employees. This was especially true now that Robert had a mistress and was neglecting many of his responsibilities. He entrusted Jared with a lot of confidence and a significant workload, even beyond what his role required.Personally, Jared was a good friend. They had known each other for many years. However, in a professional setting, Robert saw him only as another employee. That's why Jared hanging up the call the way he did felt like an insult to Robert, a challenge to his authority as his boss. Friendship didn't hold much weight in such situations."Are you leaving already?" Dayana's voice still carried the energy of their recent activities. "Have you thought about what I told you, Rob?" Dayana wanted to stop being just his assistant and secure a better position in the company. She was very clear about this. Being his lover meant more than just that; there were

Jared waited patiently to see Alice. He had already been informed that he was there. The woman who had left a couple of minutes ago had just returned, and from her expression, it was clear that she didn't bring good news for him."The lady says you can't stay and she doesn't need you," the employee informed Jared, just as Alice had instructed her to say. Her tone made it clear that she didn't like his presence, that she disagreed with everything, and that she was on her mistress's side—this man should leave as soon as possible; he wasn't what Alice Graham needed to get better. She needed her husband, didn't she?"Does Alice know it's me? Did she mention my name?" Jared asked, finding it hard to believe that Alice would send him away like this without even coming to tell him herself. "Did you tell her?""Of course, sir," she replied, raising an eyebrow at his doubt, as if she thought he was being dishonest. "I told her it was Jared Sinclair, and it was right after that when the lady to

Jared waited outside her room, leaning against the door, barely able to breathe after the strange scene he had just witnessed inside, where he saw Alice Taylor completely naked. Everything had happened so quickly; he removed the sheets from her body and beneath, he gazed upon Alice's naked form with a mixture of excitement, a strange sensation he couldn't quite place, and a fluttering feeling below his belt.He placed one hand on his chest and the other on his face. He was nervous and couldn't quite believe it. There was also a lot of embarrassment, as seeing her in this state had been abrupt and unintended. He had no idea that she was naked underneath, that her body would be exposed for several seconds before his eyes, seconds he took full advantage of to memorize her splendor. It wasn't his intention to see her naked, but now... it was as if his eyes didn't want to see anything else but her. "I saw her naked. Completely naked," he thought with restlessness and a hint of excitement.

She didn't want Robert near her, but Alice also didn't like the idea of him going straight to see Jared. She became very anxious every time the two of them were in the same place with her. She knew they had a friendship before she came between them, but it was still uncomfortable for her to see them together, because one was her wretched husband and the other... the man who loved her. She chewed slowly, savoring the taste in her mouth, swallowing gently and feeling the food go down to her stomach. She wished she could do more, but she had to take it slow, steadily, without rushing into anything. How long had it been since she ate or chewed something until she could feel it in her stomach? Moving her jaw felt strange, a bit new, as if she had become unaccustomed to it. She did it very slowly, but she did it. She tried various things, but she couldn't eat anymore. It's not like she had eaten a lot, but it was an incredible progress considering how long it had been since she ate. Her b
