KIARA "You should be terrified. You do not know what I plan to do to you," Deanna hissed, and I blinked, folding my arms around my chest. Deanna lurched at me but stumbled backwards before she could touch me. She stared at me with wide eyes, her nose flared. "W-what are you?" "So, you're Deanna. The one who lacks respect for herself. Aren't you ashamed of yourself? You keep claiming that I stole your position," I said, and she narrowed her eyes at me. "What's that supposed to mean?" She demanded."You betrayed Denzel first. You're the one who decided that you didn't want to stay by his side," I said."Is that what he told you?" She hissed. "What? Are you going to lie about that? I know you're petty enough to possess people to do your bidding. It's why I'm not going to believe anything you say," I stated."You think you're all that? You're not special, you hear me? You will come to understand this when he loses control around you. You're not safe. Nobody is safe around him,"

KIARA Denzel took my hand in his, inspecting the glowing tips of my fingers with squinted eyes. He looked up to meet my gaze, a crease in his brows. "Are you feeling okay?" he asked, and I nodded. Suddenly, his frown deepened, his eyes darkening. "Is something wrong?" I asked."Keenan just contacted me," he responded, dragging in a sharp breath. "Apparently, there are corpses around the palace walls," he said, and I stiffened."Corpses? Who would do that?" I said, my stomach tightening. "I need to monitor the situation to ascertain how bad it is. Will you be okay on your own?" He asked."Of course," I responded, and he pressed a kiss to my cheek."I won't be long, okay?" He whispered, rising to his feet. I watched him walk out of his study, a sinking feeling in my stomach. I had a feeling that this was merely the beginning of something huge. After I left the study, I headed to the garden, only to find Cassy sitting there. She beamed at me, gesturing for me to sit beside her

DENZEL "I was right, wasn't I? What did you see?" I heard Keenan say as I opened my eyes. Wincing at the pounding in my head, I glanced at Kiara, who was seated on the chair by my bedside. Her wide eyes were filled with terror. She was so shaken up that she didn't notice that I was staring at her until Keenan noticed."Your majesty, how are you feeling?" He said and Kiara looked up, her gaze meeting mine. "Denzel..." She breathed, rising to her feet to sit on the bed by my side. She brought a hand to the side of my face, her eyes misting over. "You've gone through so much," she breathed, embracing me. I shut my eyes briefly, feeling her tendrils of magic wrapping themselves around me to ease my pain and warm me up. "How long have I been out?" I rasped when I opened my eyes once more. "It's been two days," Keenan responded, and my chest tightened. I pulled away from Kiara's embrace to study her features. She had dark circles under her tired eyes."I'm sorry," I breathed, an

Warning+18KIARA My eyes fluttered close as Denzel claimed my lips once more. He pulled away to trail kisses along the curve of my neck, a moan slipping out of my lips when he nibbled on my skin with his canines. When he lowered the strap of my dress to press a kiss to the swell of my breast, I gasped, feeling my nipples harden against the fabric of my dress. Through half-open eyelids, I watched him lower the top of my dress, exposing my full breasts. A smirk curled his lips, and I felt my cheeks heat up."Now look at these peaches," he drawled, cupping one of them in his large hands. When he leaned down to capture a rosy nipple with his mouth, I arched my back, a groan slipping out of my lips while my fingers got lost among the strands of his hair.Tugging at one nipple, he teased the other with his teeth, sending shock waves of pleasure rolling through me. Denzel swept me off my feet to place me on his desk. Parting my legs, he stepped in between them, his hands inching tow

KIARA "What's that supposed to mean?" Estella demanded, her face turning pale. Denzel's eyes slipped close, his breathing strained. Wide-eyed, Keenan tried to take out the dagger, but it refused to budge. "I asked you a question, Denzel!" Estella screamed, frustration written all over her face."Get the dagger out of his chest, right now," Keenan hissed, narrowing his eyes at her. "W-what?" She stuttered."Please, Estella," I pleaded, tears clouding my vision."We can't have him dying before he can give you the answers," Keenan said, and she growled at him."Fine!" She stormed towards us and yanked out the dagger from his chest. She placed a hand over his wound, her hand radiating a silver glow. When she moved her hand away, more blood began to gush from the deep cut in his chest. Keenan cursed under his breath, bringing two fingers to the side of Denzel's neck to feel his pulse.Fear sank into me as I brought a trembling hand to his chest, pressing down on his wound. "Why

DENZEL It was the first time Adam took over while I was still conscious of who and where I was. I couldn't feel the pain anymore. The relief I felt was enough to bring tears to my eyes. However, there was a grief that weighed down on my heart, one I couldn't shake off."Are you still worried about her?" Adam asked through the mental link binding us together. "I don't know how not to," I responded. He sighed. "I understand. I know we left her on such a short notice, and she might be heartbroken about it. But, I have a feeling that she's going to do something crazy.""You think? She does have a bit of crazy in her. She just never expressed it," I responded. "What if...Now, don't get worked up or anything. What if she decides to go after us?" Adam asked, and my heart sank."She wouldn't. She doesn't know where we're headed," I said, and he tsked."She's smarter than you think, Denzel. Let's hope for the best."We stood on the hill that marked the territory of the northern wolfl

KIARA Keenan led the way as we stormed into the courtyard of the palace of the northern wolfland, just in time to see Estella attacking Denzel without restraint. They were moving too fast; their movements were almost a blur. I glanced at Keenan, worried."What do we do? At this rate, they're going to kill each other," I said.We could have arrived at the palace three days later if we hadn't asked Ryssa to contact some mages who could teleport us to our destination. "Isn't that your mate?" I heard Estella say, and I redirected my gaze back to her. Denzel had pushed her away from himself, his wild, dual-coloured gaze meeting mine. Although he was silent, I could tell that he didn't want me there at the moment. "This is interesting. Should I get rid of your woman first?" Denzel's sister said, a sinister smile on her face. He growled at her, grabbing her by the throat when she attacked him again. It happened too fast. One moment, Keenan was by my side. By the next, he was gone. I

KIARA Two months passed, and the man I loved the most was stuck in a coma. I spent days staying by his side, watching over him. I was afraid that he would give up on us. Despite the fact that he was unconscious, he had recurrent fevers and tremors. The healers had tried to give me words of comfort, but I didn't feel better. I couldn't. "Your Highness?" With a tap to the shoulder, I sat up on my chair, looking up to see a maid by my side."Yes?" I said, and she bowed."You should get some rest, my queen. You have not slept well in ages," she stated, and I looked away, my gaze resting on Denzel, who was lying on his bed, unconscious. His upper body was bare, and his pale skin was glistening with sweat."Is he having a fever again?" I said, rising to my feet."Your Highness..."I cut her off as I moved to sit on the bed beside my mate, soaking a white towel in the bowl of water by his bedside. "Don't worry about me. I can take care of him just fine."The maid bowed briefly and l

DENZEL Sitting up in bed, I winced at the pain wrecking my body. For some reason, I felt empty. Adam was gone. My mind had never felt so clear. "Denzel!" I looked up at the sound of Kiara's voice, a smile lighting up my face. "Kiara..." She hurried to my side, embracing me. My smile widened as she held on to me for much longer. Eventually, she pulled away to gaze at my face. Her green eyes were filled with unshed tears, but the joy in them was palpable. "How are you feeling?" She asked. "A little sore. But that's it," I responded, and she let out a sigh of relief, leaning into my arms as she pressed a kiss to my forehead. "I missed you so much," she whispered. "How long have I been unconscious?" I asked, noticing the size of her much bigger baby bump. "It's been a while..." She said and my smile faded. The thought that I'd made her miserable for a while was enough to make my heart sink. "How long?" I asked, and she grimaced."It's been two months," she responded. "It

KIARA Everything was a blur of pain and screams. My baby was about to be born premature, and my body felt like it was being ripped apart. In a state of delirium, I could no longer grasp my reality. All I could hear was the sound of my mate's voice. I could feel his gentle touches as I slipped in and out of consciousness, feeling my legs being pried apart. I smelled the blood, and the despair hanging heavily in the air. I knew something was wrong. It wasn't just about my baby being premature. Still trapped in a daze, I felt Denzel cup my face, bringing his forehead to mine. "I'm here. I'm never letting you go. Take my strength. Take as much as you can to finish this. Stay with me. Breathe with me," he whispered. In that moment, I felt a surge of energy through my being. A rippling wave that flowed through our bond. It was so powerful, it made me scream. With a final attempt at releasing my child into the world, a cry of a newborn filled the air, and I shut my eyes for a mom
