Lahat ng Kabanata ng THE REVENGE OF THE DEAD LUNA: Kabanata 91 - Kabanata 100

Aegis's POVHe was on his feet and across the room almost immediately. Like a man possessed, he whirled on Beta Solice, this time the composed Alpha act was completely gone."What is she talking about?,"Elias snarled.Beta Solice opened his mouth and closed it again. His eyes stared at an something above Elias's head, lips pursed."Sheila." He demanded again, this time turning to face his Luna. "What is Aegis talking about?"Sheila cast her face down at the table, hands flat on the cloth in front of her. She grew very still with each step Elias took in her direction. "It's nothing," Beta Solice cut in calmly. "She's lying. She's been lying since she walked in here tonight—""I'm really not," I said pleasantly, shoving another spoon of the lamb into my mouth. My finger shook with every bite. Damian's eyes hadn't left my body since he got here. My mind whirled around the different possibi

Aegis's Pov I almost didn't go. I sat in the car outside the eastern border house for a full three minutes arguing with myself about it.She's not your responsibility. She was kind to you. That was a long time ago.Kindness doesn't expire. My dragon said nothing. She had learned, in the past few weeks, that some arguments I needed to have with myself without commentary.I got out of the car. The Luna had practically raised me -- She deserved this much. The house was smaller than I remembered. Or maybe I had made it larger in my memory the way you do with places that meant something to you when you were young. A stone path to the front door. A garden on the left that someone had been maintaining — the flowers were recent, tended, which meant either Elias had a conscience or the staff had continued out of habit.Even though she'd disregarded all the opulence and chos

Aegis's POV The next phase of the plan was to separate my pack from the shit show that was about to hit the fan. I had to admit though, putting the call across was hard. The pack had come to me through a series of events I hadn't engineered.  But i always knew deep down that it had never been mine to keep.Sighing sadly, I put a call through to Bianca. She picked up on the first ring, which meant she'd been expecting the call, which meant Noah had probably warned her. That's what I get for having friends that knew me almost as much as i knew myself. "I'm transferring the pack back," I rushed out immediately the call connected. My throat tightened against an invisible boulder. This was going to be hard but it had to be done. Brianna sighed before groaning. "Aegis—"I cut in desperately, pushing through there weight behind my throat. "It was always yours. And now

Aegis's POV The queen arrived at half past seven with an entourage of six.She moved through the room with the confidence of someone who had never once questioned whether a room belonged to her, and that, more than height or entourage or the jewelry that caught the light when she turned, was what made people step back as she passed.Ella and her family swaggeres in soon after. A low growl rumbled from the back of my throat. Her eyes found me across the space and she took an unsure step back. I smiled mischievously at her.She turned away immediately. That's what I thought, my dragon snickered. Her father was behind her, doing his own version of a scan. Her mother beside him was exactly as I imagined---Blonde bombshell in pastel colors, pearls and a permanent I'm better than you scowl.Ella's eyes come back to me twice more before she settled. Gaining some confidence back, she glared hatefully at me. Her family whispered against themselves. My eyes shot to my eyebrows when she

Aegis's POVI stood near the main doors and watched the guests go. A woman I didn't know caught my eye on her way out and nodded. Looks like a the social climbers have finally made their decision. An older Alpha stopped beside me briefly. "Good evening," he said, and put enough weight in it to make it more than a pleasantry.Ella's failed plan and The Queen's support today had changed the looks I was getting. People had been sucking up to me since she left. It's exhausting.I know right. A council member's wife who had spent most of dinner pretending not to look at me touched my arm as she passed and said simply, "Well done," and kept walking.Kira appeared at my elbow as the last cluster of guests filtered out."Good night," she greeted a group of laughing children. Then turned to me and whispered, "Productive night, Yeah."I smirked. "Stephan's people have already been in touch," she continued. "Three separate messages in the last hour. He's very serious about the heir thing."
