LucyTony’s shoulders were tense, and he sounded upset. Matt’s arms were tight around me like he thought I was going to run away, but that didn’t make any sense. “Matt, what’s wrong?”He placed his hand over my mouth. David’s eyes jumped to us before returning to Tony a moment later. Tony didn’t move or speak. “I asked you a question,” Tony growled. “How do you know our mate?”Tony sounded so upset, but that didn't make any sense. They invited him, so why would they be upset that he was here?“I’ve known Lucy since we were kids,” David said, his eyes narrowed. “And who are you to her?”He growled again. “Don’t pretend that you didn’t hear me. You’re a guest, so that’s the only reason I’m letting you off lightly. Touch her again, and I’ll kill you.”My eyes widened, and I pushed at Matt’s hand, but he was so much stronger than me. He pulled me away and out of the foyer toward a small room near the staircase. Then he shut the door behind us. “Matt, what’s going—”The door opened jus

LucyAs Matt bit me, I couldn’t help but be scared. It didn’t hurt much more than when Tony bit me, but the man staring at me was scary. Whoever he was, his eyes had a soft, creepy red glow. When Matt pulled away, he smiled down at the mark on my neck. I didn’t meet his gaze. He ran his fingers along the mark, and I tried not to wince at how much it hurt. Tony and Matt turned me to the crowd, and the man officiating the ceremony said a few words before we were supposed to get on with the reception. Everyone clapped and cheered for us, but I couldn’t pay attention to any of that. The man’s eyes were still on me. I could feel them.“Come on,” Matt said, pulling me from the altar. “I’m starving.”I followed, still keeping my eyes on the ground, but I still felt the eyes on me. Matt got us to our seats. Tony joined us. There was a toast, and then everyone started eating. Still, the man’s gaze hadn’t left me. I could still feel it. I looked up cautiously, and instead of the creepy man, I

I woke up alone, but I wasn't surprised. It had been about a week since the ceremony. Since then, Tony had been gone most of the day, taking calls, meeting with people, or whatever. More often than not, he dragged Matt with him for really long meetings. “I don’t want to go!” Matt whined. I had no idea what they were up to. I also had nothing to do. Today, I decided that I couldn't continue to just sit around and do nothing. I got dressed and left Matt’s room, heading to the little dining room they liked to use for us. Tony looked at me as I took a seat at the table. “Morning. I expected you to still be in bed.”Matt grinned. “Looks like we were wrong. Even only being half she can keep up.”I sat down as Tony went back to looking at whatever he was looking at on his phone. Matt made a plate for me then slumped into his seat with a sigh.“Do I have to go?”“Yes you have to.”“But I really really think that you would be better off without me. I don't know anything about money or coun

TonyI left Lucy in bed with Matt. The little brat pulled her closer to him and curled around her as if I wouldn’t be coming back. “If you’re about to take a call right now, you’re going to make me sad.”I scoffed and looked at Matt as I slid into a pair of pants. “No. I’m just going to look something up. I’ll be back.”Matt hummed and cuddled closer to Lucy. “More cuddles for me.”I shook my head and resisted the urge to kick him before leaving the room as quietly as possible. I could hear the next patrol shift getting ready to start as I headed down the hall to my room. I went through the bedroom to the small study attached to it and pulled the book on our family. The bookshelf shifted aside, revealing an old staircase. It led to the attic. I hadn’t been up there in ages. I don’t think Matt had ever been up there, but I knew that if there were any ancestors about why Lucy couldn’t shift if she couldn’t shift, they had to be up there. I grabbed a flashlight, turned it on, and head

LucyWe stopped going out at night after that night. Instead, we had a lot more sex. It seemed like every day Matt and Tony wanted more. I passed out every night. When they were gone all day, I started to leave our rooms and wander around a little. No one seemed very mean, but they kept away from me, except for their beta’s daughter. She was very nice. I was nervous about being around her at first, but she was very nice, and she didn’t seem to mind that I didn’t know how to do anything. She walked with me, and we didn’t say much to each other, but it was nice. One day, she took me on a tour of the pack house’s grounds in a small golf cart. When we got back, we ran into the ladies that helped me get ready for the ceremony. “They must be gone!” The older woman said. “Those two don’t know how to keep their hands to themselves.”She nudged me to the table and fussed about me not eating enough to deal with them. “It’s Matt, isn’t it?” She asked as she put a plate in front of me. “Tony
