Lahat ng Kabanata ng Sweetest Surrender (Asturias Series 1): Kabanata 1 - Kabanata 6

ELINOR’S POINT OF VIEWI took a deep breath. The scent of the air mixed with a hint of nostalgia was a reminder of the countless memories I had made in this town. The warmth of the sun on my skin and the gentle breeze flowing through my hair felt like a warm embrace from an old friend, welcoming me back home.As I opened my eyes, the sight of the familiar buildings and streets made my heart swell with happiness and guilt at the same time. From the town square to the local bakeries and coffee shops, everything felt like it had been frozen in time, waiting for me to return. So, this is the place I left, huh? Well, it seems I made a quite questionable decision by choosing the polluted chaos of Manila over the serene tranquility of my own peaceful province, Asturias. You’re so stupid, Elinor!“Welcome back to the municipality of Asturias, Ma’am Elinor,” Manong Edson greeted me with a smile as he opened the door to the backseat of the van to pick me up at the airport.I smiled back, but it

ELINOR’S POINT OF VIEW The 20-minute trip to the coffee plantation turned into an hour because I had no idea how to get there. I went all over the place just to find it. I had to ask around from the people I passed by earlier; that’s how I got here. I never expected that in the three years I’ve been gone, so much has changed here. I now regret not joining my grandma when she invited me before. Now, I don’t know where to go! It’s such a bummer. I should’ve gone with her! I frowned as I got out of my Toyota car. I spotted Fenton’s parked car not too far away. So he’s here, huh? I just ignored it and went straight through the brown gate. As soon as I entere

CHAPTER 5: Horse ELINOR’S POINT OF VIEW I wake up at six in the morning, ready to explore the hacienda that I rarely had the chance to visit before. I know that a lot has changed at my grandma’s favorite hacienda. I also want to ride a horse again, which used to be my hobby when I was a kid. Starlight is the name of my first horse. She’s from my grandpa. It was his gift for me when I graduated elementary school as a salutatorian. Unfortunately, when I reached my third year of high school, Starlight, my favorite horse, died from equine influenza, which is a common disease among horses. Since then, I couldn’t bring myself to ride again because I couldn’t move on from the loss of my beloved horse. But now, I’m doing okay. I’ve already moved on. “These clothes look good on me,” I complimented myself while looking at the human-sized mirror in my room. I am wearing a fitted black blouse underneath my riding vest, paired with jodhpurs and riding boots. To keep my hair out of my face wh
