Lahat ng Kabanata ng Maeve: The Rise Of The Gamma : Kabanata 61 - Kabanata 70

Unknown POVJane ran to her room, breathing out repeatedly. She was frantic, panicking as she opened a secret door in her room. She entered another room entirely. She sauntered into the covered mirror. It’s been a long time since she did this, but at this point, she had no choice. She removed the cover of the mirror and she was standing in front of the mirror. The mirror was bright, showing her all the small little blemishes on her face. She breathed out, touched the mirror and whispered a word, then suddenly her environment changed. She walked down the hallway, her heels clicking on the hard floor. She couldn’t believe everything happening around her. She thought she could live without her past hunting her, but she should have known how stupid she was. She got to a door and slammed it opened; she walked inside fuming and there they sat, her two worst nightmares. They were both smiling at her creepily, their red eyes booming with evil.“I knew you’d come, mother, but not this fas

Maeve POVJane’s eyes were wide open as she was covered in blood.“Are you okay?” I asked. She nods her head shakily.“What the hell?” Pa said, standing up. Well, thank goodness, I saw him quickly. Before he could cause any damage, I flung my icy sword at his neck, and he died immediately. I walked to his body, removing the mask from his face. He looked like an ordinary man, but I opened his closed eyelids, and they were red.“Demon,” I said, standing up.“Who will send a demon assassin to kill Jane right in front of us?” Brandon asked.“King Aelle or Selene, one of them or both of them,” Duncan answered. Ario went to the body, searching through the pockets, and he brought out a piece of paper. He opened the paper, reading through it.“That is a little surprising of the things I will do, Jane. You think going to her is going to save her from me? Well, you lie; nothing can save Maeve from me. If you care so much about your precious kingdom, give Maeve to me or slowly watch your kingdom

Maeve POVIt’s been two weeks since that fateful day. And I have not done much. I have avoided Jane; I can’t bear to look at her. Her face reminds me of the past, which brings nothing but bad memories. I sat by the balcony just in a lot of thoughts. I remember my meeting with Aelle, and I sighed, brushing my hair. I haven’t even told Ario.“When are you going to come out of this depressing room?” I heard Odin’s voice. I sighed, not turning my back. I felt him walking close, then he sat beside me.“How was the meeting?” I asked, knowing he was just coming back from the meeting with the ministers.“According to reports, the demons have been attacking the kingdom. They have been killing people. They attacked the military zone, but thankfully the people there are safe, but now we have to move them,” he said.“Who do you think is behind it? Selene or Aelle?” I asked.“I don’t know, mother, but what I know is that you should stop avoiding grandmother. She has been a mess,” he said. I looked

Maeve POVThe portal took me to a study. I sighed, sitting on the couch in the study and I patiently wait for my father. He came in after me, and he chuckled loudly.“Yes, everything is working perfectly well,” he said, roaming about in the study while I just kept looking at him.“You were so amazing, Maeve, so perfect, and so powerful,” he said, his smile wide like he just won the lottery. He stopped walking about, staring at me.“You know I had a brother. He was a pain in my neck, useless and pathetic, but I killed him,” he said, his eyes lightening up like he had derived so much joy from watching his brother be killed by him.“He was a miserable little lad, the weakest in the family, and he depended on everyone to survive. Mother loved him dearly, but her love for him didn’t help. My mother was powerful; she was known in the demon kingdom, and my father was lucky to have her, but you see, she had one weakness, which was my poor, weak brother. Everyone knew he was her weakness, so t

Maeve POV“You look so pretty,” Father said, standing behind me. I smiled at him in the mirror. I look different. They dressed me in all black, dark makeup with a blood red lipstick. This is how they do it here, I guess. I sighed, remembering my wedding and coronation with Ario. I looked alive; I looked beautiful and happy, but now I look emotionless; looking like the evil princess. I breathe out. Thinking about them won’t get me anywhere, so I would rather not.“I look like the evil princess’ father,” I said, turning to him. He smiled.“No, you look pretty, just like your mother,” he said. I tilt my head at him.“You still love her?” I asked.“I never stopped loving her,” he said, his eyes brown.“So, why did you give it up?” I asked.“She had different ambitions; she wanted a different life,” he said, sighing. Then he looked at me.“Let’s not talk about that now; let’s do that later with a few drinks,” he said. I smiled.“Okay, father,” I said, and he hugged me. I didn’t hug him bac
