SKYLAR'S P.O.V"Why can't I read your mind?" She questioned, her face turned to a deep frown as she glared angrily at me.How is that even possible? And how am I supposed to know that she can't read my mind?"What are you hiding from me, you bastard?!" She yelled, tightening her grip on my face. "How am I supposed to know, Mrs Kate? I literally have no idea why." I defended myself, but she kept squeezing my cheeks so that I couldn't feel them anymore.I yelled in pain, trying to take her hands off me, but each attempt I made gave her reasons to do more."Don't you think of stopping me, you are so useless and wicked. All you ever want is for your own benefit, you don't care about other people around you.""Mrs Kate, I don't know what you are talking about.""You don't know anything I am talking about. You can never know because you don't care to know!"She was really taking this too personally than Alpha Denver would ever do. My body has really seen a lot these days, and none of these

SKYLAR'S P.O.V"Who's that on the phone?" I flinched as the deep voice sounded through the quiet room."Who is that, Skylar?" I heard Dimitri ask, but I ignored his question, dropping the telephone back on its stand.Slowly, I turned to see who it was. I still had the fear in me even though it was Beta Mark standing before me. He was the alpha's Beta, so I had every right to feel scared.I wasn't sure if he was going to report me to the alpha, the look on his face was a bit terrifying if I may say."I… I was just speaking with my cousin." I lied, hoping it would be convincing enough for him not to find out that I was actually lying. "We've been sending letters lately, but then he said he was coming over to pay a visit, so I only wanted to let him know it wasn't the right time to.""You know, if it were to be the Alpha King here, he wouldn't believe you. The call seemed quite suspicious, especially you having it at such an hour of the night.""I know, and I am sorry. I didn't want him

DENVER'S P.O.VI couldn't sleep throughout the night as my mind wandered through countless thoughts. I hoped for morning to come already so I would take a drive out of this mansion. But my plan shattered as my guard came to inform me that doctor James needed my attention."Did something happen?" Jennifer asked."No, it's nothing." I said, "I'll be back in a minute."I wasn't rushing to find out why he wanted my attention, I was more than reluctant to go to his quarter. I knew he was calling because of Skylar, and I didn't want to act like I cared when I actually didn't.Stepping in, he bowed his head, then he said to me. "Sir, we have a problem." He announced."What problem?" I asked."It's the young Miss, her health has gone worse. She isn't responding to the medication.""What's that supposed to mean, doctor? You should know what to do, that's why I have you here.""Sir, I have tried my best to revive her. And if you can remember our conversation last night, I told you her health wa

DOCTOR JAMES P.O.VI left for the hospital early the following morning. According to the doctor, Alpha Denver hasn't shown up since he left. I was thinking her condition would warrant him to at least pay a minute visit, but guess I was overthinking. However, I went to meet her in her office to have a few words with her concerning Skylar's condition."How is she now?" I asked."Well, I can assure you that the young lady will be alright soon, hopefully, by tomorrow or the next. But I can't assure you that she'll be completely alright."I was a bit confused. "I don't understand. Please, explain what you mean by that.""Okay, here is the case. The young Miss as we speak wasn't just suffering from a fever as we all thought, there was more to it, and I can tell the baby she is carrying resulted in the reason why the fever worsened.""How?""Let me explain something to you, doctor. When I ran a test on her yesterday, I discovered that she wasn't responding to the medication. But then, I also

SKYLAR'S P.O.V"Skylar, please tell me you're kidding me." Roselle said, trying not to believe I was asking her that. But of course, I am. I literally have no idea who Jennifer or Mrs Kate is. I only know Mrs Marie who is another devil in human form, trying all means to see the end of me.So, how am I supposed to know who the women are?"I'm serious guys, I have no idea who these people are. Why would I act like I know when I don't? I can't lie to you guys, I swear.""Oh, you've lost your memory, I see." Roselle pointed at me, nodding her head."Did you lose your memory?" Diva asked, suspiciously. No one said I lost my memory. Doctor James didn't say that, nor the doctor from the hospital. "No, I didn't. Are we in the future or what?" They exchanged glances, then looked at me. "You lost your memory, Skylar. And it's been two days since you stayed in the hospital." Roselle added."I think the fever really did affect her memory. I hope this is just a minor issue.""Guys, what are you
